Once again it's Monday (Tuesday actually ) so this means -- Newstime!

As you might guess from the banner above we are heavily working on Uthgard's salvaging system. We don't want to forget to thank all players (and most prominently Kronos and Monty) for reporting all items which currently don't salvage for correct amounts of material. The salvaging system is supposed to be completed in the course this week, so we already want to give you some information:

Salvaging:

All items (except for DF items) will be handled by this system. The system is a slight variation of the known live servers' ROG (Random Object Generation) system. More specifically, this means: division into small, medium and large items. You can find a listing with the amount of material that you can expect from an item in Motog's Salvaging Guide. Please note that some minor adjustments might be necessary (as always).

General News:

As soon as possible - following the completion of the salvaging system - we want to concentrate on another highly desired feature: improved mounts. In addition to those features we are permanently working on optimizing your Agramon experience. This is also one of our main tasks at the moment.

To answer some calls regarding transparency of our work (and in the same time to answer possible questions) we are planning to copy Mythic's grab bag feature. We don't have any details, yet, but the basic idea is to answer some of your questions which haven't been dealt with in the forum. So, please remember to check there first ( <img src="/themes/subBlack/forums/images/icon_mini_search.gif" width="12" height="13" border="0" alt="Search" hspace="3" />)!

We also want to mention that we're noticing an increase in negative attitude of some community members towards the staff. We want to make it clear that this project is being done "for free" by sacrificing our spare time! (Well, maybe sacrificing isn't the correct word because Uthgard probably wouldn't exist if we saw no fun in it. But this is the main factor - fun. We do encourage well-funded criticism but we won't accept any harsh and unfounded accusations against members of the staff!

So, let's hope for an uneventful week and have fun in-game!!

Sincerely,
your staff

Keep up the good work guys ^^
Dont listen to whiners and such, tho usualy they overtalk the regular people who dont take ur work as granted.
Recent changes have moved the server so much more into the better side of the globe, rp bonus, smaller agra etc etc.
Mby we the community dont thank u enough, but know, most of us enjoy every moment on uth and ur work ^^

To Staff: Comments have been incredibly deriding over the last month or so, the general community has noticed this as well. Please remember that for every rude insulting statement there are 50 extremely happy and grateful players out there (they're just too busy playing to chime in).

Thanks for the GREAT work!!

I think a 'herald' type update is a great idea to keep everyone in the loop. I seem to notice previously mentioned bugs and problems rehashed again and again (pets, archery, etc). A list of to-do tasks at the end of the herald would be helpful to remind players where we stand with these issues, what is considered highest priorities, and the general order these issues will be solved.
