Tajendi II: The Land beyond the River

Image

"Travel to the Lands of Tajendi and experience a breathtaking adventure. Visit Neset-Netjeru the City of Nomads and travel to the beautiful but dangerous Jungle of Rahat to fulfill your destiny of fighting back an ancient evil that arose again and is gathering its power deep within the Sea of Fire!"

As announced, the sequel of Tajendi I will be released on Sunday, the 26th July 2009 at around 12:00 GMT+2 after a development time of over two years.

We have split the original Tajendi II into two parts, which you can do seperatly; but also as a whole: The first part is the Temple of Ihet, which will take you at least two hours; and the second part is the outdoor world of Tajendi II.

While some thoughts and intentions remain the same, the second part is rather different compared to the first one. Therefore we recommend you to read the following hints well:

Hints:

(1.) The download and installation instructions can be found at the bottom of this thread.
(2.) Take your time! Don't expect to finish Tajendi II completly within one run, and don't expect to find every secret. There is a lot of hidden and additional content in Tajendi II, and we recommend you to focus on the Mainquest first.
(3.) READ!. You won't come far if you don't read the quest texts and instructions.
(4.) Every person which wants to do the second part of Tajendi has to have finished the first part first (Meaning: Owning the Tajendi I Token!)
(5.) You will need atleast a Healing, a Casting and a Melee Class to finish the Mainquest.
(6.) Set your sound settings (Sound effects, Ambient Sound and Ambient Music) at least to level 5. You will need it for some quests.
(7.) Try to keep a free inventory for some quest items. One backpack at least. Have a eye on all the loot you get.
(8.) The Mainquest itself may take 6 Hours for people who try to do it the first time; 4h for people who already know it. If you want to do everything with all side-quests, you will probably be in Tajendi for about 10-15 hours.
(9.) Tajendi II can be done in several parts. At most Mainquest Steps you will be given unique Quest Items. If you stop playing Tajendi, and continue later, you can use these items to "save your progress" - sort of.

Tajendi II has different focuses:
(10.) For one it gives you much more freedom, so you have to choose for yourself where you want to go and what you want to do. Set yourself goals.
(11.) The adventure has both quests for people trying to XP, as well as Items/drops for those trying to Raid.
(12.) If you want to be successfull, try to take at least five level 50 players with you. Especially if you want to finish the Mainquest.
(13.) If you want to do all Sidequests, best take one of every class with you.
(14.) Have fun! Gather your group, and talk to the Archaeologist Boggle found in the capital cities in order to start your adventure.

If you have problems...

(1.) If you get an "Unknown Zone", "Moving to Bindpoint" error; or just see some sky, you haven't patched your client correctly. Follow the instructions below carefully!
(2.) If you don't know how to advance in the Mainquest: Think! Its a Groupquest, by the way.
(3.) If there is some sort of [TA|Exception] or other errror, which prevents you from finishing the Quest, use /callgm. Nothing is perfect.
(4.) If you have annoying performance problems, try applying the low-end patch. It might help.
(5.) If you take fall damage and land on the Crocodile Beach of Part I when entering Part II, you still have uth_tajendi.dmm active instead of uth_tajendi2.dmm

Download/Installation Instructions

Image

Follow these instructions carefully, please!

(1.) Run the DAoC Update (camelot.exe) to remove any mod currently patched. This gives you a clean DAoC Installation.
(2.) If you don't have it, install the latest version of DAoC Portal: http://www.daocportal.net/?page=downloads&file=client
(3.) Download the .dmm file from ONE of these mirrors:
[#1] Rapidshare
[#2] Filefactory
[#3] Megaupload
[#4] Depositfiles
[#5] Sponsored by Juvez
(md5: db6d44cd85fe586ba3ab7c2cec528f3a)
(4.) If you have a low-end pc, you might also want to download the lowEnd-patch: Low-End Patch
(5.) Install the .dmm into your DAoCPortal ModMgr by either double-clicking on the file (WinXP) or, alternativly, just copying it int your <DAoCPortal>\mods\ directory
(6.) Start DAoCPortal, click on Client -> ModMgr; accept the license after you carefully read through it; and then set up the Mod Mgr "like this":
Image
* Disable your old uth_tajendi.dmm!!
* Order the mods as shown in the screenshot; Tajendi should have higher priority.

(7.) Click on "Patch" - If you get some sort of "Out of Memory Exception", run camelot.exe again and close some Applications before Patching the client.
(8.) You are done.

PS: I heard that the devil spider in part I has been changed a little...

You don't have to use DAoC Portal to connect; just to patch your client. And no, you will need the new DMM.

ok...got the portal with its DMM...

silly question now:
5.) Install the .dmm into your DAoCPortal ModMgr by either double-clicking on the file (WinXP) or, alternativly, just copying it int your <DAoCPortal>\mods\ directory

where is that fat marked file? or do i have to create it?
again..excuse such a silly question.

also got the file tajendi2 in the daocportal\mods\ ..

but..

when i doubleclick it i got an error? any ideas?

thats the error-message:
System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'F:\Programme\DAoC Portal\mods\uth_tajendi2.dmm' because it is being used by another process.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.File.InternalCopy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite)
at ModManager.Program.a(String A_0)
at ModManager.Program.RunModManager(String client)
at DAoCPortal.Program.Main(String[] args)

if i open DMM manually via client > DMM i dont see it there..but it is in the mod-file

Tajendi 1 is implemented in Tajendi 2. Install the Tajendi 2 mod and you will already has the 1st part too.
