The point is that this has nothing to do with 'riddling' or 'challenging' - that is unintuitive guesswork on the players part. And hence leads to frustration. There really is a line between making something challenging and difficult to find out based on available hints or not giving any hints whatsoever and leaving people frustrated and clueless. In this case, it would have made more sense if the riddle was given in the same way, i.e. numbers as words. Just something to keep in mind for the future. And less running and more riddles ![]() ![]() |

i think the premise was good but the execution was a bit lacking.
It really needed to have someone who did not know the answers to each step go through and try to solve themselves before releasing it as an event. you have to remember that the players have to rely on information given to them and can't make assumptions, which the event creator can do. Next time you should create an event then, have another GM run through it to get feedback, then once you are all happy with it, release it on the public. If at any point the GM gets stuck, you can guarantee that you need to use a different explanation to guide them through. Still, it was a good first attempt. /thumbup |

Casinii didn't want to leak too much information. Its the nature of such an event that keeping information secret is important.
It was his first try and I think we (Casinii + Staff) can learn from the results. I would like to official thank Casinii for making it possible! I know he worked hard on it the last 3 weeks and it was his baby and I really appreciate what he has done. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
Every bug gets fixed. Sooner or later. "It is an inescapable law of nature that the amount of satisfaction one gains from achieving something is related to how hard it is and easy things can only elicit a fleeting superficial sort of pleasure." Blue says, "you used macro tools or macro keyboard" Pala says, "i am disabled. and i have a mechanic left hand that can be programed. its hard to play woith one hand" [Appeal] Bxxxxxxxx: "why is RA first aid cann man i stealth use and not unstealth cann man ra if man use unstealth ?????????" BannedUser: "i was not using automate game action my hand was fall on keyboard during i was sleep .... i was completly fall on keyboard ..." |

More than 3 years on this server, participated in EVERY bigger event since then, lead some of them for Albion. What i got? Nothing. Im not only doing those events for rewards, otherwise i wouldnt even bother to lead some of them but after this event its more than clear that your feeling about fairness, when it comes to rewards, leaks any sense.
Albion that won the Aerus City event, which was a FAR more challenging Event and was not only based on luck like this one, got hand over 1 Weapon Reskin and 3 Armor Reskins to share with more than 130 people. And now you are telling me a group of 8 receives 2 Weapon- and 2 Armorreskins just for being the group that randomly found the retarded items/npc's faster than others did? Seriously im speechless of how crippled one's feeling for fairness can be. Thank you very much for motivating people to keep on trying to finally win a reskin someday after so many work and time invested. Some appreciation. This is mainly going to Blue btw. i doubt you (Casinii, or any other GM) have anything to do with the decision on rewards. I appreciate your work even though i didn't like the event at all. But you warned enough so i wouldn't had a reason to complain, and as it was your first event your next might be less boring and not only based on luck. |

Great event, just a little too much find random x in random y to do random z in random v. Best part was the old lady!

I must impart my usual point of view - Guys, this ****** is FREE...These GM's and Dev's take time from their own days to make this happen for us. If you dislike these events then might I suggest no longer participating in them. It takes ALOT of time, effort and planning under the restrictions of the game code mechanics to pull something like this together and all most of you can say is "It was boring" or "It sucked - It was all based on luck".
If you have any comments on the events, try to be constructive and less childish and whiny. I would like to see anyone else step up, create a place for 1000+ other people to play on a daily basis, keep things running as smoothly as these people here do, provide in game support, prevent cheating and promote fairness & fund the space required. My thoughts on the event are mundane at best. Being a US player in the EST zone I did not get to join until after Albion's 1st group had already completed the puzzles. It did, on one hand, leave a little to be desired in the riddle department but what it lacked there it made up for in realm fellowship and getting people to work as a team. I would do these events again any time. It was a nice break from the normal grind and RvR bashfest. Thank you Casinii for all of your hard work and I hope you do not get run down from some players comments. For your 1st event I think it went well. Also thank you to the players who had positive things to say. I feel they will help with the next event. Pianoman There is no escape but death - Your life is just a murder train a-comin'

Just a thought, but if an event is expected to take 6+ hours, why not hold it on Saturday starting early afternoon Europe time and early morning US time? Would give just about everyone the time and opportunity to do the event.

I'm sorry mate, but by that logic difficulty would be increased by having to answer in say, norwegian or something (without any hints that that is what you're supposed to do). The difficulty should be in the task, not some technical detail of how to provide a correct answer. ![]() |

I am a US player and I, along with alot of others, participated in this. Granted we had a few hour setback from the Euro's but no one seemed to mind due to the difficult nature of the event. Not that I totally disagree with though - some weekend event would be great but I fully understand that people have lives outside of playing DAOC. This goes back to a discussion that took place in the Easter Event thread about doing some sort of event that would start on Friday and end on Monday. It would even out and by Monday for people in all time zones. One discouragement I have is that we had this event and rewards already have been given, yet the last event is still hanging with people waiting on the rewards. I know it takes time but it has been a few weeks now. An update perhaps on this? There is no escape but death - Your life is just a murder train a-comin'

Thank you for putting the effort and time into making this event happen. This is not only one of the things that drew me to this server (other than game itself) but will also help draw others!

Worst event EVER !
I can't believe it ! We spent 9h to reach the end and were the 2nd Alb grp! Thx for the incredible reward (a crap pet !) That's what we deserved? All people that participate this event expect to win something like reskin,MP weapons/armor,Df scroll,or respec stones at least We loosed half of members during the event to finally invite some solo survivors on the end because we want to be fair with them and give them the grp reward too. Result=only 4 reward, untradable, and who won it? 3 of the invited members ! WOOT ! Next time i try to be FAIR with realm mate, just told me " Don't !" In the end i loved the logic, spent 20min to know that first answer as to be given in LETTERS (twohundred)when we got the answer in less than 20 sec. Spent 20 more min in Fairy enigm to know that we should give the answer with NUMBERS ! Spent 1h to find something to do ,to help NPC with Rats when there's nothing to do about it And finally the best of all,the Wife step ! an Inconnu told you "my wife is gone for a walk in the woods" you have to understand that "my wife is a diying briton going at the other side of the country and she's laying behind trees and grass,on border of a map,far from any walking road" That's a fact,i didn't get any Inconnu's dictionnary. All i feel today,is deception and was really tired at work ![]() |
