Christmas 2011, Part 2: Snowball Fight!

Abydos Game Master Posts: 6836 Joined: Jan 22, 2011 21:14	by Abydos » Dec 19, 2011 10:30 Get your fur coats on over your armor and head over to X-Mas land between December 24th(18:00) - 26th(23:59) (GMT+1)! The snowball fight is back! Go to X-Mas land by asking "Santa's Little Elf" to send you to the "North Pole". Once there, you can find piles of snow to pick up snowballs. Place them on your hotbar and target another player to throw. The players with the most points will be listed under the events section of the Uthgard Herald. Earn fame and glory! You will need the Uthgard Christmas zone to participate if you do not already have it installed. General: Like Tajendi, this event will take place in a custom zone. You'll be facing other players in a good old snowball fight. Details: - The event will be a PvP event. No realms, no groups, no mercy! - The zone will be accessible from [SEE BELOW] using the PortalNPCs - In the zone you will have to look for snowballs to throw at your opponents. You can grab snowballs by rightclicking on the snow hills (marked by red conned npcs). - For each 'kill' you'll receive scores. - When releasing after being killed, you will appear somewhere in the zone - You will need Catacombs or higher; I'm afraid ToA won't work either this time; don't know why. - Important: To get out of the X-mas zone, use /returnhome - In order to keep the balance between players there will be several restrictions: * You cannot use spells/styles/weapons. * When you're hit you'll not loose a fixed amount but a certain percentage of HP. - You can heal yourself at warm places with fire when you are out of combat This will ensure that even a level 1 can take on a level 50 without being totally disadvantaged. Event times Kills are only counted between these dates: 24.12.2011 18:00 26.12.2011 23:59 You can still enter the zone for fun on other times.

Maybe it would be better to place it somewhere between Christmass and New Year. But anyway, better as nothing Thx for your work

I waited in the zone for 30 minutes for the event to start only to be heavily ENC with my Luri and could hardly move... making me a sitting duck for the other player who had the same strategy as I did. This will be the last GM event I attend - while the thought is appreciated, you guys need to think things through more or do more testing prior to implementation.

Allying defeats the purpose of the FFA snowball game. i noticed as i was being followed by this duo and they managed to catch up with the speed they had. Even as they shot snowballs at me, they still caught up to me, is that honestly fair? Other names were: Seiichi Shanoa Thank you for destroying the game and making the x-mas zone dead.

davidoof Phoenix Knight Posts: 1142 Joined: Mar 21, 2007 01:00 Location: near Berlin	by davidoof » Dec 26, 2011 00:30 there is a bug with the hastener speed, if you deal dmg to other ppl you dont loose it so you cant run away from the 2-3ppl hib grp, they have infinite speed may be it would be better to delete the hastener und delete all buffs/charges/timers when enter zone anyway the event can ends, becasue of grping / bug using hibs Back to NF, NEW RA.

Maybe your spamm in all chats to join you was a bit annoying ^^....
