Dear Uthgard players, dear brothers,

I've played Uthgard for a while and besides the implementation shortage, the grey killing annoys me the most.

Some people say that it evokes anger, which results in better wars, but how can a person come to such an idiotic conclusion? Greykilling destroys the spirit of beginning players and players who want to try a new char. This leads to lesser chars and/or only 5 realm chartypes in each realm.

Is this the future we want to face?

I rather let grey players train and grow stronger in time so that I can fight a worthy enemy, further more letting grey's grow will give back the old fashion way of fighting, a combined group, instead of only nuke groups or tank groups.
Returning to proper players, a combination of strenght, reason and HONOR

Greetings,
Arnius aka Johannah TheDark

yeh it's all well and good that greys shouldn't be killed, this is an ongoing argument that has no solution..

When i was a newbie, i felt the same thing, i mean i dun see the use of it.. ther's no exp or rps gained.. and i usually dun kill greys myself.. but what ****** me off the most is that when a grey thinks he can kill u -_- i mean seriously.. this is long time back when i was still in braemar.. i remember roaming with my sorcy and saw a grey elf.. i just turned and walked the other way.. but this damn elf debuffed me, still i left him and walked my way.. THEN HE TRIED TO MEZZ ME  i turned around and hit him with 2 dds and he dropped.. thinkin that this would teach him a lesson.. i continued roaming.. AND HE CAME BACK and started attacking again.. like come on seriously.. -_-

But yeh.. voted yes :)

Indeed the only reason one could have to kill a grey is, that the grey tries to kill the higher ranked player, not only because it's annoining towards the better player but it's also a good lesson for the grey player.

10 greys can kill a purple - especially when adding to a green or blue player, who is fighting that purple one.

So, it's the purples right to kill the grey. In some situations, it's understandable, in some it's lame.

Just avoid the purple players, and hit your /beg macro if one comes close to you.

If you get killed anyways, go to a spot in a non-RvR-zone.

Just accept it and don't flame! It's DAoC, and DAoC is about war. Not peaceful hand-in-hand walking with red flowers and pink ponys and so on ^^

I think this is the ... 20th thread about greykilling? dont know!

anyway - dont whine. there are so-called 'classic' zones, you know. in these zones you can level WITHOUT GREYKILLERS !
if you level in DF for example, you have to live with the risk of getting killed thats why there's a xp bonus.

rector, yeh 10 greys can kill a purp, that's understandable.. :x but i think maybe this is more towards the 1vs1 thing.. if ure in a gr and ther's greys in the other gr, HELL YEH WE SHOULD BLAST THEM.. but not when ure way over powering a grey cuz that's just stupid and useles..

Yes, daoc is about war and fighting Realm vs Realm, but apart from that we need new players and i'm sure the staff would agree that they are trying to grow uth instead of chasing the new players away..

Bottom line is, i guess.. if ure going into a bg, prepare to die more than u kill and that way u'll have more fun.. :)

Normaly i would agree that killing greys shows how much of a loser some one can be...

Untill i played this server.

from my old live server greys would rarly add a fight they would just hide and sit untill the enimie left. so i left greys alone.

But here on uthgard I get Added 90% of the time but either 1 grey in the area or ALL of the greys, if i attack some one that is Yellow to me.

I still try not to fight in a area where there is greys. But almost every Time i do fight some one, some grey adds. even after /Beg-ing me not to kill them.

With my Experence so far It would be Dumb to let a Grey Run free.

Its funny when you try and save some one from too much argo and they /worship /bow to you for saving them But then turn around and /Rude you when they Add on you when you attack another player.

I still try and be in areas where theres No greys around But if i cant find a Spot....
Aye I Now Kill Greys....
-No respeced Shown so none Givin-

P.S. and only a Idiot would say Greys cant do nothing. A Heal/Stun/root/Mezz can change a fight so very easy... arg and i know lol

Hey, when those damn purple enemies greykill you - you will start to hate them. And hate is good for a game, that is about war ;)

Cause later, when that damn greykiller is yellow to you, you want to kick his ass over and over again and punish him for all the greykilling he did, until he kneels down to your feet and brabbles: "Pleeeeezee, don't hurt me again  I will do everything you wish if you only let me stay alive  "

So, greykilling keeps the game alive ^^

Same here! Its definitly alright to kill greys who attack you or add in a fight you are in. But the killing of single greys, mostly seen and experienced in DF, I cant understand.
There is no gain, no xp/rp, no challenge and no fun in this. At least in my opinion.

In Short: I voted NO. You should be allowed to kill greys.

Short comment:

As for now geykilling is allowed. Often it is really poor behavior but it is not against the rules. It's just a part of the game, a bad part, but a part...

The matter is as old as uthgard and i seriously doubt that there will be any change in rules soon (or even ever).

So...as long as this topic stays calm and friendly, you may continue the poll. But do not expect anything to change even if the result is 100 to 0.

i just hate the stealthers in DF.. getting oneshotted over and over by a purp stealther while peacefully soloing mobs just sux.. and there are a lot of those around, luring for green players to farm, and killing all the rest they meet...

maybe we could start with 'ass of the week" awards for pll like that

i agree, in bg you kill the grey that grp higher lvl's or add, but in df, most grey go to kill mobs, not to look for ennemy's.

a few months ago i was killed 4 times in a row with a lvl 20 char, just trying to get to df mech's to buy something with seals...even one hour later, when i tried to go back again i saw killspamm from that guyas soon as i entered df.... how lame is that?

in game terms:

i dont like to kill grey players, i know how annoying is to be kicked out of DF, considering how hard is to reach lv 40.

on rvr a grey character is a rupter, leecher and someone whos looking for easy xp rather than helping his realm.

bringing a context, grey killing is like killing civilians wich is kinda barbaric and only fits in mid realm :P

Well the one and only description of DF is that's it's a "PvP dungeon". Don't whine if you die to a player in there, it's expected to happen, and if you don't like it go exp somewhere else.

coming from a new player to Uthgard, and currently lvl 5 myself..

if its red.. its dead. That simple. Enemy is an enemy. Choose your lvling spot wisely. The added xp of the battlegrounds comes at a risk. If there was no risk, the homeland zones would be totally void of players.
