Huhu!

I really like RvR, especially lvl 50. But its really hard to find inc - but not in bg's.
Especially Thidranki is bad in my opinion. There are 3-4 fg's - sometimes just from one realm....

I have the strong feeling that many ppl just target this Thid RvR at the moment. After they reached RR cap, they make new Chars - but no one really goes for lvl 50 RvR.

What do you think about the situation?

Yesterday late-evening there was not a single soul in Agramain, but several groups in Thid.

I really don´t understand that. I like Agramain RvR much more than Thid skirmish. Why dont you?

Are you saying I have no soul?

There must be another way apart from just removing the BG to attract players to Agramon.

I dont see why people stay in thid though, surely Agramon must be more fun? With DarkRef there and all.

ahh well.. maybe your soul was hiding behind a tree.

DarkRef wrote:I dont see why people stay in thid though, surely Agramon must be more fun? With DarkRef there and all.

...and Holz and all the imba enormously-high-RR-players.. maybe thats the fun-killer! =)

Solution: Restrict Daily-RvR-playtime of a char inversely proportional to its RR. Take this formula:
MaxDailyPlaytime= [e^(100/RR)]*10min with RR X.Y=XY

Example for a RR9.4 Player ^^
[e^(100/94)]*10min=~29min

Example for a RR4 Player
[e^(100/40)]*10min=~122min

Example for a RR2 Player
[e^(100/20)]*10min=~74,2h

Wouldn´t this be the solution to all our problems? Muhahaha? :-D :-D :-D ;-)

I just can speak for Albion, but there the reason why going to Thid and not Agra is very simple.

Thid: Log in, ask for grp, get grp, have fun

Agra: Log in, aks for grp, don`t get grp, log Thid

The reasons why you dont get a grp are often discussed and you can read them in the Forum.

Well I suppose there is some truth to all the statements here, and there is nothing different about what has been said here than statements made on the live servers even when I was playing back in 2003. The BG's are for the most part, fun. You have a centralized focus of combat (the ck) and 3 seperate entry points and areas to roam around in/level. What more could you ask for if you are looking for quick action?

On the other hand there is the option to have a less confined zone to play in (agramon/new frontiers) which makes for a nice change of pace at times as well.

So far I think both of these make for a more entertaining server as you have more choices and options available. I strongly believe people get caught up in the bgs simply because:

1. Experiencing to 50 is a drag
2. Its relatively easy to find some quick action in a BG
3. Going out into the level 50 zones as a new char/guild is akin to suicide with all the high realm rank players out there.
4. Its easier to gear up a BG character than a level 50.

It's not really an silver bullet issue in which if you take out one problem, you solve the whole mess. I'm not one for 'easy mode' play style as some refer it to but I do believe that there could be some creative ways introduced to making the leveling process better here, at least within certain ranges, 35-50 in particular. Perhaps themed adventure leveling giving bonuses every level or something if a player hunts in a certain spot at certain times of the day. For example making server announcements for people in various level ranges to hunt particular types of mobs within that range. An example would be level range 35-50 message "curmdugeons in coruscating mine need thinning, aid your realm by decreasing the population." That way people level 30-45 would go into that zone/area to level up and obtain the bonus for that particular spot. These exp bonuses could rotate every few hours or some such and thus require some effort on the part of the player to actually go acquire the exp.

Just a thought. I'm sure there are plenty of good ideas out there for making leveling more fun tbh.

whats easy mode in your mind zippity ?

Lvling is not easy mode ? To Click on 1 button about 10000000000 times? Is that really hard or just annoying ? Think about it ;)

What I mean by easy mode is changing a system that is designed to have a functional purpose into a something trivial. For example changing the rate of experience to 20 times normal exp and making the process of leveling to 50 happen in one hour would in my opinion be 'easy mode' to some extent. It would be trivializing the intent of the system which is to make for some meaningful progression of characters.

On the other hand, this perhaps presents the challenge of defining what things are 'really' important to the server community by and large so as to have a better understanding of what most people would consider 'meaningful.' Short of a lot of one on one conversations with people through out the server or a good honest poll announce in game, I doubt you could ever really get at what people are really thinking on the issue short of observing behaviors that may be ambiguous in nature.

lol, I suppose perhaps the terminology could use a bit of work =P

You may have an idea there though. Some 'guided' character progression could be a useful idea..

Not to borrow WoW's ideas or anything but the quest based leveling was a pretty good idea at the time. If people are 'garunteed' to achieve something within a certain time frame or by finishing certain tasks then that may make the leveling process less monotonous and incentivize people to progress further along their chosen tracks, but again who really knows.

Hmm well I just thought of something else. It probably wouldn't be the most popular of ideas...

Perhaps try limiting the amount of times 1 character can log into a BG per day and also limit the amount of time they can remain there? Maybe with some exceptions like if a keep is under seige then no one in the zone gets auto disconncted until the seiege is over.

Removing BGs wont bring everyone from the BGs to Agramon. I guess most would leave as they lack the nice RvR between leveling.

As it is right now you neeed for Agramon:
Level 50
SC or at least good equipment
a good group setup
a good backup setup for some enemies
decent RR
know how to play your char vs different setups

Well you could do without the one or the other but if you lack to much from that list, you wont have much fun in Agramon. Those points are a serious inventment and i doubt a lot new ppl would do it without having fun in the BGs in the meantime. Leveling a char is fun sometimes. But quite often it is actually not. Farming items is usually boring. You just do it aiming for RvR. The further RvR is pushed ahead, the less people will actually do it.
