So Midgard took everything again. They can do this - no ranting this time from me! Don't hate!!! Please don't refer to previous posts - I would like this thread to survive please!
What I'd like to know is what is the impact to you as a player of your realm? Also the wider populous of your realm. So please respond with: + Your realm + Play time (post your time zone + what you roughly like to play - like 2-3 hours per day) + How it affects you? Do you play less on the server, do you pve more, do you enjoy the bonuses if you are part of the dominant realm? What do you do with your time? + How does it affect your realm you play in? + What would you say is the health of your realm (from your perspective) Please keep this steered to the above points/topic and try to keep it there. I'm not bashing any realm - so if I can behave - please do the same. - Inqy/Spymistress/Sly -

Will try to leave emotions out of my answer
![]() + Albion + Euro evening hour (latest 23.59 CET), 0 hours here, but play 3-4 hour DaoC a day normally + I look at the Herald, and decide not to bother logging in + Not sure, only see the statistics, and some seem to do RvR, but looks like low activity + Again, I stopped logging in, but seems like some do a little RvR, just not a lot Albion and having fun

- albion
- all timezones...playtime varies from zero to infinite depending on the action going on - i log in, build the perfect group in an instant and go rvr to kill baddies and have fun all night long - not at all, everythings fine and dandy - albion is totally kicking it. ![]() #censoredbyabby(tm) |

odd bunch of questions, i will answer them the best i can for ur research!
+ Your realm = all 3 realms but mainly the underpopulated realm (Albion) for max action. + Play time (post your time zone + what you roughly like to play - like 2-3 hours per day) = currently play 0 hours but im used to playing 13-15 hours a day at times. + How it affects you? Do you play less on the server, do you pve more, do you enjoy the bonuses if you are part of the dominant realm? What do you do with your time? = I'm well established in daoc and on uthgard, i mainly play this ancient game for the friends and nostalgia, but i get competitive when motivated or when someone raise's the bar. p.s as an alb we are used to not having bonuses + relic stacking due to a massive lack of interest. + How does it affect your realm you play in? = post title suggesting how i deal with mids owning df? mids main source of money generation is from DF salvage, where as albion and hibernia have better options in their world so knowing the spots it doesnt bother me that mids own df 24/7. i personally liked how defensive mids are with keeping df, they are always going to try defend keeps because they have a reason too. + What would you say is the health of your realm (from your perspective) = albion is toxic, elitest and has high standards which i suits me more than other realms atmosphere. http://i.imgur.com/2mhdzsu.jpg RR5 Ownage!

Thanks so far, I can see some tongue in cheek/irony - but it's nice to get a picture of what is going on for everyone (and at different play times). I know I'm just as guilty as the worst of us for ranting (or preaching).
So this thread is just about learning the issues and the scope, when one realm is dominant (including for the dominant realm). Not about solutions and not about blaming or whining. - Inqy/Spymistress/Sly -

+ Your realm ~ Albion / Hibernia
+ Play time ~ Different, depends on work time / shift cycle and mood, can be 20 minutes to 10h to nothing at all for a long time + How it affects you? ~ Does not affect me at all. + How does it affect your realm you play in? ~ People stopped caring about relics/keeps, sometimes keep reraids are built just to realize: it's not worth the effort, except the blue realm is sleeping. + What would you say is the health of your realm? ~ From what I see, there are those that love RVR and still do it, both in Alb and Hib, and there are those that resignate. I also see lots of players from Midgard in Hibernia and Albion. Seems like they are sick of their main realm being so dominant and want a more balanced server, since domination is only fun for a while, the climax is over very fast. Overall opinion: It could be better, but it's the people only that can change it, noone else. Albion Forever!

the issue....well. all i can say is: while leveling my friar to 50 the other day in the frontiers my logs got absolutely showered by blue spam. constantly. there was no contest at all. after finally reaching 50 i tried rly hard to get SOMETHING going. not. a. chance. death has its fair share of consequences in daoc. morale takes a huge hit (especially in a pug) when you just get wiped after having spent a lot of time to build your group. and entering the frontiers and just watching infinite blue spam creates quite the barrier up to a point where many dont even bother trying anymore. i mean lets be honest. what are the odds, some random alb pug (low RR ofc because all higher RRs play together for obvious reasons) is gonna get a fight where they can even bring 2-3 members of any mid grp down. you got it. low AF. therefore rvr for non hardcore players (who even has time to play daoc hardcore anymore? get a life boys n girls <3) becomes quite unattractive. which is a shame. rereading this i gotta admit it sounds quite pathetic....but its the truth outta my perspective. once my partner in crimes mincer is 50 we gonna try some duo action. if this doesnt spice it up im probably gonna quit until that other server goes live. |

So please respond with:
+ Midgard + CET evenings 7pm - 10pm + not at all. Relics dont impact my experience as I am unskilled (only my rank makes me somewhat strong) The decision for/against RVR/PvE is driven by what the majority of my community is up to that day - which is also independend from having relics + Not at all? Mostly same groups of people doing the same thing every evening + The success of this game is driven by a balanced and good community in each and every realm. It's a nightmare for every other realm if only 1 doesnt participate |
