Hey all, been a long time since I've played and want to get back into DAOC. I used to play a high RR BD on live servers and loved it. The classes I'm interested in are:

BD
SM
Enchanter
Sorc
Theurg

Which of those do you think would be best for solo RvR? I'd imagine roaming leveling areas and also DF, and less about going to Emain unless no action anywhere else. Which of those would be great in 1v1 and 1vX situations?

I know lack of speed might hurt BD and SM, but they are pretty tough too I'd imagine?

Anyone who has seen Moudjo in action knows Enchanters, when done right, can wreck everything. Snorlaks was also a really great solo chanter.

sorc is the best, followed by bd

Don't run solo as a caster.you ll be just farmed by any minstrel or fg/small men all day long. If you want to solo either make a Skald or minstrel or run a stealther.

What pweet said, but if you insist on it being a caster, run as sorc.

The utility is through the roof compared to the others.

Sure enchanter is great, and so is menta, and so is BD. But they all gets blown away by sorc. Alone MoC+purge+lifetap+aoe mez, is enough for you to be certain to get kills on every run.

I've soloed on theurg and friar, and the speed sure sucks, but I don't feel like being zerged that much.

Sorc are perfect for grey kills in Collory !

Low RR the BD is better, with more RA avaiable, the Sorc will outclass him.

SM could be nice one, but to much bugs on this server here untouched by GMs, so useless to try solo rvr. At least vs Sorc missing range, i bet on sorc.
Menta nice too, but both (SM,Menta) miss speedsong.

In the really end, i think Shaman is best, if u count that as a caster class.

Hard to top a sorc especially with 1.65 mechanics...just so many tools. A tough match up for almost any class and can handle opposing small mans as well in many situations...

Speed
Strong DD lifetap
DoTs
Pet (can supply buffs, heal, melee, or cast depending on your choice...chase down stealthers after restealth)

Hard for me to think any other caster class is better equipped to solo...

Back in the day my main was a sorc with purge and MoC+lifetap. Pretty much unbeatable if all the toys were up.

Only thing I feared was buffed SBs/NS but there just is not the swarm of buffbotted stealthers there were back in the day...and that is a good thing.

Anything with high speed and good utlity. As long as you don ´t roll stealther I would skip visible non speed classes for solo rvr.

Minstrel, skald, sorc...if you´re pain resistent and a good player, bard might work too.
