Increases resistance to all damage types of magic by 3% per level of this ability.
Does this also increase chance of resisting spells IN ADDITION to reducing damage if it lands?

No, it does not. “DAOC is not about what you can log. It's about what you can play :> ”
 Uthgard 1.0: <Die Lettanten> Ivia - 8L8 Nightshade - Lone Enforcer since 8L1.
 Uthgard 2.0: <Illuminated Stormriders> Oxy - Hero; Ivia - Nightshade.

If I'm not mistaken, it's also a 2nd tier resist, so it's 3% of the damage done after subtracting your resists from items. e.g. It actually reduces magic damage by 2.22% for any magic damage type that you already have 26% item resists for. *Current Lives* Might pop in here on my BD sometimes. From that forum wrote: From another point of view, this is how it will affect mezz duration - based on a group with a 35 Enh Cleric using the lvl 33 16% body resist buff:
(Based on the Albion 44 Mind AoE Mezz, 1m 12s duration, as the Mid and Hib mezzes are of shorter duration)

 Base case:
With capped resist and no AoM you have 42% resistance
A 72s mezz is reduced to 41.8s duration
This is further reduced to 16.7s with Det 4

 Currently:
With capped resist and AoM 2 you have 48% resistance
A 72s mezz is reduced to 37.4s duration
This is further reduced to 15.0s with Det 4

 Patch 1.64 Resist Changes:
With capped resist and AoM 2 you have 45.5% resistance
A 72s mezz is reduced to 39.2s duration
This is further reduced to 15.7s with Det 4

So, after patch 1.64, you'll be mezzed for 2.6 seconds longer without AoM 2 than with it - or 1.0 seconds less if you have Det 4. Not really much of a return for 4 realm spec points.
Has this been confirmed on Uth2 though?Zocci <Njord> - Skald

Yes, AoM reduces CC duration, as do all 2nd tier resists. These later changed in NF to only reduce damage.

Thanks, I did not know that. I actually thought it was just for damage.*Current Lives* Might pop in here on my BD sometimes. Cirdan - Does AoM reduce chance of being hit by spells? In addition to: 1. Reduce CC duration 2. Reduce magic damage

Nope, iirc no RA does that. The Necro RA and Majestic Will do the opposite though: Lower the chance to have your spell resisted.

Doesn't seem worth getting if your goal is to reduce CC durations. But I don't think that's why people get Avoidance of Magic do they? Severian, RR5 SkaldSacrament, RR4 Healer
