Hey guys!

Been waiting for the re-release of the server for so long like most of you all! So excited! I always loved DAOC but I don't know the details of every class/builds as much as I would like too. I'm looking for a class from any realm in RvR that would be best at detecting stealthers, if that is possible. Melee class would be a first choice for me, but caster would be fine.

Thanks,

Catalyst

I sort of get that you don't want to play a stealther yourself?

If that's the case, probably Thane or Reaver because you can use various pbaoe abilities to uncover them and they are also both melee, and strong solo classes.

Yeah I remember last time the server was up, Stealthers were popular so i'd like a counter to that

I don't know who you are
I only know what you want
If you're looking for advice I can tell you I don't have many
But what i do have is a very particular set of skills
Skills that make me a nightmare for anti stealthers like you
If you close the topic now that will be the end of it
But if you don't
I will find you
And I will kill you

Ironically, the best anti-stealth classes are other stealthers.
Archers in particular at this patch level are useful in this regard, they can get a realm ability called "True Sight" that allows them to see all stealthers nearby (up to render range). Doesn't last too long though and has a long cool down.

Reaver or any heavy tank should be fine with 1vs1 supporting RAs ,- problem: you get farmed by any other groups, smallman cause of missing stealth :|

Alright thanks for the replies guys!

Reaver seems to be the type that I'm looking for with the pulsing pbaoe chants. Now I've never played the reaver and I have a few questions.

1) What kind of spec should I be looking at for lvling? Do a mix of everything or one in particular at first? Or even just train for end game spec?

2)What race and why? I seem to remember seeing a lot of inconnu reavers (near Camelot)

3) Any auto-train on any skills?

4) What weapon type should I go with. I know that some weapons are better against some armor, but I don't know the maths of it or what could be better against mid/Hib.

Flex weapons are str/dex so whatever race you want (Brit, Saracen, Inconnu) there isn't much stat difference. I'd probably go Saracen myself.

Spec with leveling depends on whether or not you want to autotrain Flexible
Without Autotrain @ 50:
50 Flex
42 Shield
36 Soulrending
16 Parry

With full Autotrain (go Crush while leveling) @ 50 after respec:
50 Flex
42 Shield
41 Soulrending
6 Parry

The difference is a 83 delve, 70% return lifetap (level 32) vs a 106 delve, 80% lifetap (level 41).

You can switch between crushing and slashing Flexible weapons depending on your target. You should use a very fast weapon because Reavers are all about the style procs and not about the style damage.
