Just wondering if anybody knows of a good analysis of each class for each realm and their overall effectiveness in the RvR/PvE scene? Mostly concerned for upcoming 1.65 Uthgard 2.0 accuracy. Maybe somebody already did something similar in a blog or on another forum I am unaware of.

My reasoning behind this is to just help grow my own personal knowledge of RvR so that I can hope to better understand what I am fighting or what my own realm brings to the table (why is each class so sought after for RvR or PvE???). After rerolling mid on Genesis I feel like I have a good understanding of Alb/Mid since I played Alb on Uthgard 1.0, but I am trying to avoid another grind and play to 50 on Hib to get a feel for their classes. If anybody knows of a blog/forum post where something like this was done I would love it. Otherwise I may go ahead and put it together myself and post for public criticism and feedback. Thanks!!

Mid Alb Hib

Berserker = Mercencary = Blademaster
Skald = Minstrel = Bard
SB = Infil = Nightshade
Hunter = Scout = Ranger
Healer = Cleric = Druid
SM? = Sorc? = Mentalist?
RM? = Cabalist? = Eldritch?
Savage? = Friar = Valewalker
Warrior = Armsman = Hero
Thane = Paladin = Champion
Bonedancer = Theurgist = Animist(?)
Shaman = ?? = Warden??
?? = Wizard = ??
?? = Reaver = ??
?? = ?? = Enchanter

Rough list based on my little experience and knowledge. Obviously classes aren't mirrored in daoc, so we don't have exact replicas in each realm, but for their role/purpose in RvR/PvE/What unique skill set they bring to the table. Please correct me because it is likely I am not 100%. Maybe I will go in depth with each of the above classes and highlight their skill set. I find it hard to believe someone hasn't done this before for new people.

Id love some kind of overview aswell + i think alot of newcomers aswell!

Anyway about hib RvR setup :
Melee : Bard+druid+druid+hero+bm+bm+bm/warden+eld?
Caster : Bard+druid+druid+hero+eld+eld+eld/ench+eld/ench/menta ?

This is how it looked like in Uthgard 1.0. With OLD RA's i heard that caster setups will be more popular than now. Atleast in hib. And bombgroups will be reintroduced :)

DAoC is not WoW, no mirror classes.

But there are heal, dps, CC and melee archetypes.

If you are a beginner you should avoid the main CC classes (Pac Healer, Bard, Sorc). Not because it's difficult to play but the group most likely wants you to drive and organize the group.

Heal

Midgard: Healer
Hibernia: Druid
Albion: Cleric

Range DPS

Midgard: Runemaster, (Spiritmaster)
Hibernia: Eldritch, Enchanter, Mentalist
Albion: Cabalist, Sorcerer

Melee DPS

Midgard: Berserker, Savage, Warrior
Hibernia: Blademaster, Hero
Albion: Mercenary, Armsman

CC / Rupt (Crowd Control)

Midgard: Healer, Shaman, Skald
Hibernia: Bard, Druid
Albion: Sorcerer, Theurg, Minstrel

Buffs

Midgard: Shaman, Healer
Hibernia: Druid, Bard
Albion: Cleric

Group core setup

The groups are getting filled with heal/dps/rupt classes depending on what setup the leader wants. Mostly dps though.

Midgard: Healer, Healer, Shaman, Warrior
Hibernia: Bard, Druid, Druid, Hero
Albion: Sorc, Cleric, Cleric, Armsman

Disclaimer:

There are also other classes like Bonedancer, Champion, Wizard etc. which will do fine to awesome in zerg fights, but don't get group invites in emain as easy. Though for a smooth start rather pick one listed above.

I know they aren't mirrored, but I am trying to get something like if you played class X on alb side then you might like class Y or Z from hib/mid side for those of us who have played in one realm, but not the others. We can read a general over view of classes and figure out which archetype they fall into, but their unique skill set that they bring to a group takes a little bit more in depth knowledge to know which is what I am after.
