Hey all, just curious about your opinions on the better class for solo and 1v1 or even 1v2 in PvP. Both classes interest me, and just want to hear some opinions of the people who have played as them/against them!

I'll be playing the class in off prime hours (American here).

P.S. How do BDs (with PD5) fare here in 1v1?

Also consider to get the solo toons well equipped, as the enemies will be - good template and buff charges/pots.

I cant speak for Thane, but Reaver is very much needed for all high end pve raids on albion, so getting money with reaver will be easy once you hit 50.

As with most solo toons, especially for Reaver (or BM/Ranger), you really have to be good at strafing, as stun will be purged often. Otherwise you can't do the mighty posi styles.

I played Reaver mostly solo in Thidranki - and I had like a balance of 50 wins, 2 losses (sham and skald and out of endu pots) in 1v1. I met no Thane, though

After Thid, as I got no hold of high end buff charges, I only pvped a bit in DF, which was quite some fun. On the downside... I got zerged by stealthers and visible groups as well - which would happen at AMG, too - at least till you got a name or maybe even then. Finally, I respecced my Reaver for grp spec.


When my Minstrel was in Thidranki, one thane (fully buffed, though) was the hardest enemy - like 1 win, 5 losses.

Thane > The Rest
Good Defence, Slam, no need to strafe, Insta DDs, Awesome RAs and finally with WoC3 and RR5 => your enemy is dead

Reaver is much stronger than thanes.... they got their mighty backstyl all the time and do not have to wait for woc all the time.. everybody who sais something different never played a thane...

I don't know man i'm seeing an army of reaver amg all the time, i almost never see any thane. take it for what you want.
