Discuss your fights, setups and give input to your enemy groups! Lets show the people that there is still players on Uth that do 8vs8 and that it is a fun and challenging way to play the game. However do not downsize other types of gameplay this game offers! The server is a good server once different playstyles can coexist!

Back on Uth since 3 days and had some nice 8vs8 every evening. Yesterday there was only a RUIN pug and us out but we stayed for a couple of hours and had like 10-12 really nice fights in hadrians where we accidently met again and again! Looking for more today!

this was only 50% true yesterday :p

edit: OT: it maybe would be nice to set some zone for 8mans to roam when emain is zerged, the question is if the zergs dont decide to visit this zone too.

bit of offtopic again, yesterday there were zergs from each realm and each of them was in different zone, what is the point of that ?

That would be arranged, but there is still IRC and ingame chat, absolutely enough to give a hint.

It is perfectly fine to say something along the lines of:

"If zergs are roaming emain 8v8 people can meet up in odins gate"

As long as it doesn't become intel such as:

"If zergs are roaming emain 8v8 people meet at amg odins gate"

As minimum there should be a full zone to roam to find people.

EDIT: As long as these "arrangements" are done in public so everyone can react to them.
Got any questions? Submit them to me and I will try to get them answered in our grab bag !

Myth tried a lot of setups and because of the size of our guild we didn't often run with the same 8 people twice, but we paid our dues and although we lost most of our fights against the good 8mans for over a year we did finally improve a bit ( its a lot harder to 8v8 when your 50 then it was when i was 40).

But what we really learned is that its as much the right 8 people as it is the set up. We finally had real success when we made our 8man from the alliance. We got together 8 people that really clicked as a team and we could and did compete against every guild. Our best set up was 2 cleric, 1 pally, 1 mind sorc, 2 body sorcs and 2 cabby's.

we also learned that YES RA's do make a difference and people who claim they don't just want pugs to come out and feed them RP's.

people may not believe this but I do enjoy 8v8 and I am not against the 8man guilds but I do disagree with a lot of things associated with 8mans. However I want there to be a strong and thriving 8man community on the server and think its very important for the server as a whole, everyone that rvr's wants to try 8v8 and would like to be successful at it.

I disagree with the people who go to emain just to zerg it and ruin the 8v8 and solo action, there is room enough on this server for everyone to play and have fun. On the days I am leading the Albion zerg you will seldom see us in Emain unless its just to blow through amg on our way to attack a relic or a keep, 90% of the time we are in Alb or Midgard and we have a blast in those zones and see no need to go zerg down Emain and hurt the 8v8.

I am interested to see more set ups, how many others run a caster group like we do ?

/cheers

I totally agree with your last paragraph Cruell and the setup you mentioned is indeed one that can be great fun. Sadly u rarely find 2 bodysorcs or spirit cabbys around in alb and its a setup that is pretty difficult to play. Rare ran this setup for quite a while a like 2-3 years back and i still love it. Ur right tho the people matter more than the setup, but there is still setups that are worse than others (always depends on enemy setups too ofc) and theres setup that are totally useless and even with the best 8 players u can find they would get pwned by sos aog inc of DG ^^

Had some nice 8v8 today until 22:00 when DG entered the ring who only have the aim to make rps. Sadly the alb groups other than our are not really willing to counter that behaviour (e.g. stay close so if DG inc the second grp takes care of em), so DG probably made alot of rps while the other groups of their realm did all the work. Still a nice evening and 30k rps or so.. Sadly we only had one straight 8v8 vs Req which we lost, the other fights were interrupted by adds. Pulling out on a running fight where ppl already diedif one adder incs is pretty exaggerated btw @ Req, still was good fights.
