I recently got my reaver to 50 and 4l2. BGs were a blast, fun fights, most people will group with anyone as long as they are not known for big mistakes in combat. I could get on a couple hours, maybe wait for a few min for grp, but overall get on for a few hours and have solid fun.

I've been 50 for roughly a week, and have basically been on actively trying to find rvr groups (for hours a day), during peak times, but having very little luck. A group here, a group there, in hours and hours of trying.

Soloing has been even more frustrating. I dont really need to go into it but, 2v1s or worse, ra dumping, the affordability/availability of charges and pots, and other imbalance issues just make it rarely fun at this time. I have typically been a believer of "this is a group game" anyhow.

So I dunno, is this just the experience every new person has to grind through? Should I go out and farm keep/guard tasks until someone will consider grouping me? Should I take the advice of my alliance mate and make a merc?

I see so much potential for fun with this server but atm I find myself standing around, doing nothing. I do enjoy the occasional raid, but that will never keep me on this game and especially after getting 1-50/temp I need a break from PvM.

Any advice would be appreciated, I tried to keep the QQs at the minimum and just tell my experience as a Pvp minded new player.

There is just one advice, never give up. Once reached rr7 its getting easier. Maybe you check the US Primetime, usually ppl fill up grps with everyone they can find, a chance to show your skills, maybe they remember you next time during EU Primetime.

and reaver is a horrible class to start grp rvr with(but its bad with all classes^^), since with 4l2 u wont ve basics like det5. so it ll be a tough time. try to get in a rvr active guild.

Luckily for my reaver there weren't so many high realm rank people like there are now (many inactive as well that were high then) so soloing/small manning seemed a lot easier leaving Thid. I haven't RvR'd in a long time now, but from what I read pug/large groups are more frequent in keep raiding now if you can get into that? Even with the guard task nerf you have those for decent rp gain to realm rank six.

I never liked group rvr on my reaver (not including 2v2/3v3s) compared to my mercenary. So if you aren't really attached to your reaver I'd suggest mercenary if you're wanting to get into group rvr. I kept solo realm abilities on my reaver and group realm abilities on my mercenary so I could get into both with my preferred class.

Last, like was said above don't give up. Takes a lot of patience to get up in realm rank. Although personally I can't believe how some people kept at it so much/for so long. There are many who have been playing for some years now and still do lol. They must really love DAoC xD. Anyways, good luck.

Persistance. Stick with one class to learn all the possible situations and how to handle them from your class perspective, sticking with one class will enable you some progression, even if it starts out bad, in time it will probably be better.

Also, if you wanna play a gimmicky class such as reaver, you better start trying to build groups regularly.

Basically most of the people here had to go through the "hard times". I even stopped playing here for like 2 months after reaching lvl50 due to it. As people before already mentioned, just stick with it. You could try to find some other players to do some small men rvr or even df rvr for some time. Thats at least how I started till I got invited into some better groups and proved myself to be a decent addition to them

I understand your frustatration, know what you are talaking about. Elitist 8v8 groups dont accepting new faces much, except theit own guildmates or good friends. Simply roll another toon and have fun in BGs.

this is the way of the ppl without balls, this only causes that you never become part of the rvr community

I dont have mood to spam lfg channel for hours without any response. Its really frustrating and annoying. Only chance for newbies can be missions and keep retakes or zerg events wich are running quite often this days.

Your chance to get grouped is way higher if you actually try to talk to the people, you know thats what /send is for. We ("the elitists") are just human beeings as well. And you cant blame people for grouping others they know/they like, thats just how the life works, right? You hang out with your friends as well, but from time to time there will be new people too

Still I know how hard it is, but asking directly instead of spamming broad helps a lot :)

My expierence is: Its far easier to build up a complete group as getting in a group as newbe (depending on class..some classes gain easy group access no matter what RR).

But you will have to refill the group after every 2nd or 3rd wipe. After 2-3 weeks playing RvR u r accepted.

I agree with most of the above posts here.

First off, I really liked you post and I think it does nicely reflect the way alot of new and casual players on this game feel once they hit 50 and 4L2. Also, as you can tell from the responses you received, since you didnt make this into a QQ thread you got alot of helpful advice.

Now, what Zai and the people that told you to stick with it said I would tend to side with. Nobody is going to come in as a new player fresh out of thid and just hop into good RvR groups. It takes time, RR's, a good template, and a little luck to achieve these things. The good new's for you is that with keep take tasks going the way they are it is now alot easier to get in a pug or zerg and go out and get some decent rp's taking keeps and killing possible defenders. Also, if I can throw you some advice, instead of looking for groups please BUILD a group. If you keep spamming, "Lvl 50 Reaver looking for group for RvR" you may be waiting a long time to get a response. However, if you say, "Looking for more people for RvR" you might have alot better response. If you only get a few and there are full groups around then go to another realm and do some tasks or take a keep. Over time you will get to know more and more people and putting together groups will become alot easier.

As far as what Seethoven and Majky said, if you are looking for a nice easy casual fun time in which you can log in for a couple hours evey other night and have some fun then BG's are the way to go. There are more people in the BG's, the RR's and lvl's are capped so they are more fair fights, and the zone is much smaller. All of that ='s very fast and easy action. The problem is that people that prefer this style of gaming think the same should apply to frontier RvR and it simply doesnt. The zones are alot bigger, you have fewer people around and they are spread out more, and you have RR's that range from 4L's to 11L's. That creates alot of problems for new players.
