hi all again
as I am going to join uthgard I wanted to ask what would be a better choice, as I want to play a supporter or a tank (Im filled up with casters ;)
but what is the rvr like? are there more solos or also grps? because if everyone, or the most enjoy running solo then I would prefer a class with almost complete selfbuffs, otherwise I have a hard decision to make, because I dont really care about the realms and all 3 have good supps and tanks...
so far I hope, its not too much and some guys give me an usefull answer.
Thanks and kisses

Afaik Sups are needed in every realm... Midgard is the only realm that is covered with a sufficient number of supporters because some of the players twinked a few healers an shamans to strenghten their rvr groups.

RvR in general is not as professional as on live. No need for Uberness equipment.. also you might find one or two groups with assist trains.. but no bomb towers and suches. Also there is no TOA stuff here.. wich means playing caster groups is a little tough but still doable if you use more than 2 quickbar buttons (as it was during the SI phase)

Leveling a support class can also be quite hard. You wont get the optimized exp flow here just because freeshards are small. So getting an optimized levelgroup is almost impossible. Many players also tend to level solo because the mobs are very easy to kill. Thats bad for some support classes that cant kill a ****** and good for those who can kill stuff anyway (Nature Druids, Cave Shamans, *cough* Smite Clerics etc.)

Ah yes.. you'll also meet the everlasting "I run 2 miles aways from my group without saying a word to kill a yellow guy, just to get owned from 2 others guys to shout at the goddamn healer" Just expect things as they were at the start of daoc ;) exciting and hard

hey tanks a lot Presto many further question were already answered by you :D
some is almost what i wanted and expected to hear
but it sounds good that grp play is the favourite kind of RvR of the majority. It sounds more like the battleground Ive been looking for, what means that on the live servers are mostly casters and so its hard to find, what I understand as a good grp fight.
so thanks for youre answers :) and i think either the hibernian or the albion realm can look forward to see a new supp in their rows soon, as I choose Midgard on the live servers I m ecxited to see things from the other side :D
Thanks again it made my decision a lot easier
hugs Etheasa

Hey,
I dont know if the Topic *where are all the albs* is still actual, if yes It would be a great challenge to join Albion...but sometimes it sounds like the rest of hope to built a grp that can survive a few incomings is already gone :? so i like great challenges but I dont want to waste my time, know what I mean? I lvl up to 50 get some stuff and then out in emain i have to recognize that i am the only healing/spreading supp day for day, and one cleric cant hardly keep a grp alive
so im still not sure... emotionally I would prefer Albion I think, but as said I dont want to waste my time

p.s I love midgard but as I read you guys are already strong enough I think

what? you're saying you're weak? :P

as to the question about which realm to join, i dont want to sound offending but, i dont think one player will make the difference, i'd say follow your own interest and join which ever realm you think suits you best. if you wish to join 'the weaker' realm, you could join albion, but the weakness of albion is not a lack of players, it's more a mentality problem. (god, i'm gonna get killed for this) unless you got a degree in psychology or you're a charismatic leader whom everyone will follow without question, you'll probably be wasting your time on alb if you really intend to do some serious rvr. although our lowbies in braemar and wilton are doing good... from time to time :P

name will be posted that all the friendly hibernian people know who to tell if they have a place in their guild or wathever :P
