Just a quick recap on the most important things from my former topic.

What's planned:
* Keep porting system:
Players can port to the keeps of their realms near the primary RvR zones. These keeps need to be claimed and leveled up to a certain point where some sort of Channeler spawns, which allows for players to port there.

When a keep is under attack, the porting option is disabled. However, any keep which meets the requirements can be ported to, meaning that there can be back-up keeps to support to closest keep to the primary zone.

* Keep defense bonusses which resemble current livelike behaviour, added to the bugtracker.

* Keep taking missions.

* Coupling Keeps held with Relic Guard strength.

Under discussion:
* Additional Keep benefits such as an XP boosted area around the keep (16k units). Whether or not this bonus is equal in enemy realms and the actual bonus % are under discussion by the staff.

Progress.
Due to chaotic code, progress on these items is delayed until the code is ordened.

Confirmed.

Reworking all RvR code in Uthgard is a lot work. But I see some progress already.

Hib was the origin of that idea. We had problems with hib in low pop times as they had no advantage of shortened porter times.

sounds awesome

what about the claimed secondary keeps?
a reason to reraid secondary keeps for realms like albion/midgard like a lower cooldown of their emain port timer,

i know its still in progress and a huge step for the gm's but tell us more :D

As far as I know, the secondary keeps are an option to fall back on when the keep(s) closest to the primary zones are either taken or not claimed/leveled yet.

Not reraiding these keeps will just leave your actual portal keep more vulnerable. After all, just setting the keep on fire will block the port.

I don't think extra mechanics are planned here.

Of course if in practice this looks like it needs adjusting, I guess staff can consider taking action.

@Cadam: I don't blame you for being grim. Trust me, I know how you feel. The thing is though, these things are real and are probably the Nr.1 priority at the moment when it comes to RvR.

The fact that the staff is reworking the entire RvR coding first to make sure they can do it right now and in the future will surely stall the release of these features.

However I'm confident they will come, just like the RvR dungeons got here eventually.

Things take time on Uthgard, and a lot of it.. ;)

History seems to be repeating itself. I remember a similar discussion on VN Boards long ago. With one high post count lobbyist leading the charge.

The result was New Frontiers.

Is that what all this is leading back to eventually? I hope not.

No. But I have to admit that the siege/defense possibilities and destroyable walls are nice features.

The idea is to make OF work.

Maybe some features resemble NF, that may be, but getting the most out of OF is the goal.

About the keep ports though, I was thinking about ports to enemy realms.

Perhaps we could enable porting to an enemy realm once they have enough keeps (min. 3 for instance) in that zone with the necessary levels. Of course this is no must, but might be an idea worth thinking about.

I think the enemy port to keeps should be enabled if ALL keeps in their home realm are in their hand. That would make sense and is fragile enough for this luxury. An interesting aspect will come in as e.g. Alb players won't necessarily have to go through the AMG chokepoint but could catch enemies into the back.

Yea, that might be a nifty gadget should any one realm ever achieve that. :)
