Okay, so I played solo and duo, and on unusual occasions trio on live almost exclusively. I come here and nearly no one respects any kind of small man or 1 on 1, they just mow them down. I can QQ about that all day but will meet the wall of "red is dead" and "you cant tell us not to kill realm enemies" bs that used to be frequent on VN boards and such.

So rather than doing that, im curious: are there any places that are out of the way that are known solo spots? 8mans would have to be total losers to go WAY out of their way to kill 3-4 people trying to get some good 1 on 1s. And im not talking about viper 3 assassin vs viper 3 assassin and seeing who hits remedy first. Reavers vs champs is a good match. Warriors vs nearly anything is good. Matches like these id like to see, and Id pass up emain to have my turn and to watch. Is this against the rules, or are there just that many people who are so bad that theyd go 15 minutes out of their way to kill a small group of soloers?

You can do that everywhere you want. Just do /duel and you can ve the nicest duels all day long.

You can engage fight that you want. if you see a 1v1, its your right to watch and dont engage, like its your right to not engage a player that is solo and seem to not want to fight u. You just dont have to ally with an ennemies vs another ennemy and do 2 vs 1 with him and then let the other go.

I understand your sentiments Dark. I will say this, as it switches from Euro prime time to American prime time and the population dwindles down it does become easier to get small man and 1 vs 1 fights in. I'm not saying you still wont have your "red is dead" people, but just less of them. Alot of people spam to go to Odins Gate for solo and small man action, but I myself have yet to try it. I know certain groups of players that will certainly go out of their way to ruin parties like that, especially if it has been slow at AMG. It's a shame, but it happens. I just wish people would realise what I figured out a long time ago while doing grouping up at AMG on my stealther.... It is better to fight and lose the occassional fight and having enemies keep coming back out since they at least get a chance in a fight then to pwn everything in sight at AMG and then 1 hour later there is nothing to kill because you zerg'd all your enemies to death. Sustained action > Easy RP's for an hour

@pweet And what do you earn for that? If I wanted to duel pointlessly id play a crappy game like WOW. 1 on 1 is as valid as a way to earn rps as the 8v8, the guard farmers, and the zergers.

@Orihiime heres the problem with your quote: "if you see a 1v1." I have seen them, and I didnt add, despite being able to probably kill both of them. Let them finish what they started as a good match and ill slaughter the winner if its not a set up match. Everyones happy this way. The loser got his good fair fight that he lost fair and square, the winner got his RPS, and I got some too for nearly no effort.

@RonELuvv I totally agree with what you are saying, but ive done the stealther thing and Id rather play something with a bit more than poison swap weapons, OP ranger, Or slam critshot. If thats your thing, great but its not mine. Right now my character is in Thid, and ive gotten VERY VERY few good 1 on 1s, (Thank you to people like Kingslayer who dont add) but the ones I did were awesome. I lost some, won some but got a good fight every time. No one likes being zerged, as you indicated, but that is what im finding. (Granted this is thid, not NF, but I cant expect to think any different with my experience with the inf) Today I was zerged by literally 2.5 fg hibs solo. They must have gotten like 30 rps each. Whats the point?

After playing on live for like 7 years and all the good fights ive had 1 on 1 or small man, I cant believe with the population this server has (given that live is not much more) there arent more like-minded people.

if your plan is to go kill the winnner of a 1v1 that is at 20%, i dont see anything fair in that, and i can understand that this guy will come back and add you while you are fighting 1v1 =). If u want be fair, do it really

I totally agree with you, but people who wait is always better than people directly exploiting your duel for their run to rps!

Now I am real curious as to what class you chose, since not many classes really take a whole lot to play solo except a select few like mini is hard to learn to kite propery interupt and get timing down. Scout is really hard to solo on and is not simply slam and crit shot, at about rr6 a lot of solo people have purge3 (up every 5 minutes).

Anyways as far as solo goes on uthgard I soloed on my merc for a while and it was fun, but most grps will gank you. At about rr7 I had some grps not add me which was nice. After all of that I enjoy my infi the most because I can avoid some of the rp hungry grps. I'd say 95% of uthgard just wants free and easy rps. Currently you will see a fg of stealths at amg daily killing solos and raking in large amounts of rps. If you find them solo they are free rps but that is rare.

Solo is not an easy choice and you will get fed up a lot. However, I still enjoy it but many times after a fg rangers etc kill me, can be very frustrating or today when a rr11 healer healed the solo skald i was fighting and then his zerker added me:) In my opinion there is no safe spot to solo on Uthgard only brief time periods when you have a small window to have fun.

As you were talking about earlier on watching a 1 vs 1 fight. Somesimtes I enjoy to watch a 1 vs 1 fight but i always emote /wave or something to both parties so they know I was there and did't add and hopedully treat me the same way down the road. However, if you killed me after the fight at 5% when you watched I would most likely add all your fights. Thats just me, but I'm sure some people that solo would do the same.

The very few times ive gotten 1 on 1s here, and nearly every time on live, if there were others around, the winner dies. Ive never met anyone who just lets a 5% health rp bucket go. I expect the same treatment ive gotten in the past, and dish it out just the same.

This is SSSOOOO true. The reason the stealther population is so high is because solo on visi is just a matter of luck with the small man and 8 man groups roaming. I would say a person who has a reputation as a visi solo'r has about a 40% chance at best of not being added or killed by vastly greater #'s and that % is based on American prime time. Figure about 20% or less on Euro Prime time.

Also, what he says about the emotes is dead on accurate. You must remember that you need to let people know that you are there and not adding so they will hopefully repay you back in kind. This is not a fool proof method by any means, but over time it does have an effect. Last night I seen a 4-5 man of albs fighting a 4-5 man of mids and I emoted everyone on the field to let them know I wasnt adding in. 5 minutes later the albs won and left and Swiitty (who was with the Albs fighting the Mids) and Fluxx were at AMG. I attacked Fluxx and sure enough Swiitty lifetapped me down in no time. Now I know that next time I see Swiitty in a battle to do likewise.

That is how I get by in the game. Basically, try and treat others the way I want to be treated, and if they dont want to cooperate then I treat them the way the treat me.

with rr4 i try soloing but it sux On uthgard.. high rrs need to. Gank solos low rrs to feel pro.. ^^ rr10 jumping and emoting.. 3-4 min no enemz.. he killed me unstyled cuz I don't hit him.. smallman rr6+ was running to me all my speed timer long.. to have 100rp.. that is fun for all of u??
when u are low rr u have to grp.. I hate it.. but I have to.. to have more like 2k rp in 2 h .. dont tell my guardtask.. -.- thatsno rvr.. u don't learn to play your char..
