Hey folks,
You might know my brother and me from Amg - Atk to Mmg - Mtk action (adding) I just wanna explain you my point of view at Uthgard RvR. Who am I? Well we asked for some advice 5 weeks ago if we should roll VW + Bard or Eld + Bard or BM + Bard. What does this tell about us? Yes we really like the opportunity of visible RvR of daoc. Thats why we had a hand full of duos all over the servers (world wide) . I even participate in one of the most famous guilds on Lyo/Alb. But yes I quit with all of this bullshit, since I got a life ![]() My brother and me started on Uthgard as casuals and we never ever will enter the 1337 daoc world again. What we encounterd on Uthgard / Mid was just flames (thanks to EdN and GDRW). Since we never ever got a /b message like "Why add?" in Hibernia I assume that Hib is more casual friendly than Mid. Even though Uthgard RvR as duo only is pain in the ass. On the one hand side you have players like who wait AMG for RR4 gimps to get farmed and if there is a grp inc they act like 1vs1 guys. But on the other hand side they will add you hard if they have the opportunity. No need to behave like a 1vs1 guy since this rr4 gimps will never get an audience. But hey here I am. We even got calls from Ronian (probably one of the real 1vs1 guys as the Hib point of view) to let Divinarchangle go. And after we killed him twice we decicded to let him stick to his 1vs1 playstile (maybe influenced since we know that Lios accelerated the whole RvR in Daoc and took it from gimp play to a kind of Online Game we have nowadays). Even though we were casuals we made a list about people chasing / adding us, and the only one we can say "ok sorry our bad" is Arlen, Rare (and god damn it) Jarysa and the roller coaster guys. This are the only people who might get any reputations as enemies on Uthgard, since they let us dive or we added him kind of badly ![]() All this others guys on Uthgard will always tell you to not add, but will do the same if they get a chance. Nice example is Hercules. Since we rolled Midgard before we know that he is a 1vs1 guy. What we did is ran through AMG or even let him life if we encoutered him at MMG-AMG (easy RP++). But hey when we got a 2vsx close to AMG, what did this solo guy do? Sure he adds and /rudes, since he and all the other 1vs1 guys are just cops. They added us badly, even thought we had a 2vs2?? If you dont wanna be disturbed in your 1vs1 play dont add any 1vsx, since you will not know the whole story. Conclusion: Since you add us we add you? Yes The only grp we will not add again - even thought you chased us ![]() Ps: You should not see this as an excuse why we add solos. Sure we do, but hey most solos we add are scouts/inifis/hunters/SB. Sorry but if you dont have a pan key, its not our fault ![]() Cu in the frontiers A (gimp casual) play of view ![]() <<< This avatar is handmade by Inotor Wurzelbert : ) Check out the Mampfer-Threads for more. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=25079 viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26934 |

TL;DR: His duo added a bunch of people, then had some people complain to them about adding, and then he tried to stop adding, and yet the people he had previously added on, continued to kill him by adding. Also, apparently casual play is synonymous with adding.
edit; tl:dr=too long; didnt read |

![]() ![]() welcome to utghard sad but yes we love it and who cares about a duo u find not real much visible enemies anyway ![]() this thread will be locked soon ![]() |

Everyone has there own preferred play style on this game and on this server. When they clash, all you will see is one side crying to the other. One wants to kill all that moves and get as much RPs as they can. Another wants to just solo, in fair and almost predictable dueling conditions or PvP one on one matches. Some like to play a single realm and focus on the realm vs realm aspect of the server type, while others may like to cross realm and choose classes they like the best/preform the best. Now we would like to respect everyones wishes, but that isnt possible. Play how you would like to play and to avoid others messing with your play style.
For example, if you like to solo and dont like to assist others, and want to play like dueling conditions. Then you need to get away from the Gates or other spots that is frequently camped. Stick to inbetween routes, hide in trees or other objects to hide from passing groups and wish for the best. If you fight at a gate, then you can expect others to assist. Dont dare call it adding, this is realm vs realm and your at war. Could you imagine. "O hi, you just killed some of my fellow brotheren, but it wouldnt be fair if i killed you right now, please go on. Just promise me you will not kill anyone else" 5min later, that guy kills you with some aid of his realm mates. Well you where asking for it. If you dont want people assisting, then you need to reduce the chances there will be others around. Dont expect others to change how they like to play, so you can show your mad skills. Which tend to be classes that can solo easly anyway. If this was a server where people could duel, then id agree with those kind of cries, but it isnt. It is realm vs realm and people need to stop cross realming and get some realm pride. |

Just play our own playstyle and ignore people crying.
For example, I have my own playstyle which is solo, but not focused on the duelling crap. There is a nice command called /ignore. Just use it. ![]() ![]() |

Yep, just play how you like. The game is about having fun. I personally like to play as a hib, in the setting of RvR. I prefer to run solo or rarely with a friend or two. Once and a blue moon with a group. But i find more enjoyment soloing. When i see a fellow hib fighting an enemy, i take a sec to fiqure out if they need help or not. If he is handeling his enemy well, i will let him/her solo that target. But if my realm mate is losing badly and is very unlikely going to win, i will step in and assist. Why. Not for the realm points, but because he is a realm mate and i will not give my enemy realm points. When i do this, i will sometimes get a thanks reply and rarely ill get the , you added.
I just ignore it. If they want to give realm points to there enemy, they can change realms and give those RF to the hibs. Or find a server that is more duel focused. I also like to hunt in DF. Not to hunt my grey con enemys, but to hunt those enemys who dare travel to hib side of DF. I help my realm out by helping to make DF safer for us, as a few others also do. One in a blue moon i will travel to the enemy side of DF, but only to hunt my own level enemys. But i normaly just stay on my side, as there is always a assasin around, looking for some blue/green con kills. But anyway, people will cry about it. When there play style is being intruppted. Like killing solo enemys at a gate while you are grouped. But all i can say to that is, if you go to an enemy gate or a well known hot spot, you should expect extreme danger. There is 2 other frontiers to go to. The problem is they are not as populated / used and going to emain isnt solo friendly. |

The problem is the very definition about "add" on uthgard. It's totally different from the live one.
It's not 8v8 if my 8 are not involved mentality. Anyhow: Keep up the duo gameplay if you like it. We will continue to leave your duo alone. ![]() |

Welcome to uthgard!
Love seeing u guys around since I play duo quite often too and can't wait to have another fight against u! Dwain |

My guild has always followed the "practice what you preach" kind of way. What good are you to ask others to play fair if you go around killing soloers/duos and other ****** yourself.( Except for black listed people like black adders, Taurino, etc.
![]() We often get added later by soloers we spared before at which point my guildies sometimes question our policy and I can't blame them. The expression "you reap what you sow" doesn't exactly uphold in Uth RvR. |

Good luck with your Duo.. nice to see more Small Man groups. Adding/no adding, this is very special here on Uthgard.
Your example Gdrw, where the leader preferred 8v8, but kill all solos/ 1v1. well... ![]() When you walk solo, and make a large circle around 8v8.. 3 minutes later you get zerged from thoose guys. Well.. ![]() When you didnt hit some1 < 100hp and let him alive. 3 minutes later he adds you. Well.. ![]() When a high RR toon who normally runs in a fair Guildgrp. like Rare or so zerg you with a Pug.. what to do if you see him again with the Guildgrp?! Add the Guildgrp or just that one Guy?! Well.. ![]() All experiences which I have already seen 100 times. As i say, thats very special. |

You do realize that you say you follow a direction followed by a statement that clearly shows you don't? right? |
|
Or you just do nothing ![]() |
|
If you would RvR more than once every two months you'd know that these people have no interest whatsoever in so called fairplay and have proven that over and over.
Google "exceptions", you will be enlightened. |
|
Believe me I know who these people are. But still. You are kinda using double standards to make your own actions okay ![]() |
