Same here. My full buffed simu was hitting 1 + 1 (add damage) on all keep we took. Most of them were unclaimed, and all non upgraded.
Buffed = my own pet buff, with 33 spirit spec (+42 str, +48 dex, +49 str/con, +51 d/q). I used sapphire pet.
Magic damage, as usual, were ok, even drain from my pet.

Maybe it's normal for pet, but it's a little surprising.

To be honest i haven't read the whole thread.

To the ones who claim, that Focuspull is impossible now.
You should buff your pet and use debuffs on mobs.
Blue knows how to perform headshots in daoc!

What he said.. its as its supposed to be now.. good fix with armor factor buff on pet blue!

Now just add mls for xping, so i can ml9 my pet!!

The biggest thing that's happened here is handicapping new and casual players. End of story. You can't really make an argument that changes that.


Of course, you can "make an argument". Whoever really played DAoC since release will remember how hard it was to lvl up. And for casuals, it was even harder. Just because there´s no sense to make it possible to gain 1x lvl ups / week while playing 1-2 hrs a day.

On live, it was fking impossible to gain 3-4 lvls a day above level 40 without good xp groups. What you needed on Uthgard was just a duo/trio to lvl up that easy.

Whoever says "baaah, i have downtime after 2 yellows!" never ever played DAoC right after release. Even on lvl 40+, yellow mobs haven´t been as easy as they´ve been on Uthgard.
I can remember how i leveled my wizz... yellow mob, bolt, bolt, nuke, root, run, bolt, bolt, nuke. 1 or 2 resists included. Lvling my armsman wasn´t "Pull, autoattack, afk", like it was on uthgard.

And I appreciate the patch.

Maybe, this will prevent those idiotic players that reroll new toons every 4 weeks from rerolling and soloing again. Now, you have to search groups, instead of asking "What specc is best to lvl solo?", and get them back to "what´s the best specc for xp grps?"

I apreciate your feelings, i remember too these things, but was 12 your ago, and was even fun kill a blue looking at the swing animation without style..

It's nice to xp in group, but should not be only forced cuz you have to rest 5 mins after 1 yellow.. if there arent any supporter online it will be crazy, cuz making group mean more higher mobs, and more higher mobs mean more incoming damage..

I didnt exped yet any low level toon, i just read what other ppl say there, but i can confirm that lords physical armor is a bit too high, we wiped at lord in wilton and we was 6 with guard on tank (1dmg per hit :cry:)
There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

1 dmg per hit against Lords is a bug and not intended. I think thats quite clear and has nothing to do with the armor formulas.

My first experience with this mob dmg change today = 35-40 lvl fg hardly killing reds and even wipe sometimes. 3 purple is wipe all the time even with mezz, impossible to heal for shaman and healer if the tank (warrior) is not SCed. Maybe it could work with 2 healer+1 shaman but what's the point? Did we realy need to make lvling harder? If it's realy a FIX, thanks for that but I don't think any newcomer with no crafter toon can hit 50 anymore.

My result after 2 days low lvl grouping is:

If u are not able to form a perfect group of 8 it will not work well.
We will stay as trio till 20+. We wipte 6x in 20min in muire with a group of 7x lvl 10 chars. 4 tanks 3 healchars.

The problem is the buggy baf/bof system in combination with the higher mob dmg. We are 7 ppl and 4-5(ora) mobs were coming and because of the higher dmg even 3 healchars were not able to heal the 4 tanks. It was like a 50% 50% chance to survive.

It works solo atm as valewalker great because i cast yellow mobs down to 30%. As trio u could kill 2 ora mobs too. But if you have more group members u need a really good setup to survive. Even when u do not kill reds in a fg, 5 ora mobs are making problems in the low lvl sector.

They use dmg from ACTUAL live ( 1.113 ) instead of the dmg from 1.69 ( they cant have it ) So well, pretty normal you cant kill 3 purple as a fg, since on live u got way more tool for fight them.

Mob damage is insanely stupid. Let's say you have a group of lvl 20-25. Tanks lvl 25, support around 20. You do a nice pull, ****** mobs add through walls, and hit your support few times before tanks can peel...high chance of death or draining power pool to heal xD, since most people have crappy gear etc. Tons of other things that make absolutely no sense, it's <live like> xD. Don't even bother man, logic is not the guideline on this server, it's blind copying of things from live, putting them into "classic", ignoring everything that might have affected current live mechanics, since it does not and will never exist on uthgard anyway etc. Just enjoy the game as much as you can and that's it.

I pointed out several times that on top of all other completely brainless changes, ignoring factors like player base and population when implementing changes is very bad. I mean, they act as if the game was just released and thousands of people play on this server. To be honest, with the mob dmg now, you really need a nearly perfect setup and people wearing gear with melee resist capped to effectively xp.

They use dmg from ACTUAL live ( 1.113 ) instead of the dmg from 1.69 ( they cant have it ) So well, pretty normal you cant kill 3 purple as a fg, since on live u got way more tool for fight them.

If a fg cant kill 3 purple it's still ok to me but 2 were mezzed and both healer and shaman run out of mana before we kill the first one. They hit insane, red 2 hitted my caster twice today. Even chain users die instantly when they pull and 4+ comes. I didn't realy care about barrel/hastener changes but this looks like a huge mistake.

No? We can't have? I can tell you mob damage of DAoC never changed. I develope on DOL since 2003 and experienced 1.69 first hand. There was no change ever to mob damage on live since 1.69. 1000% sure that is.

Okay, but you still cant be sure that Mythic had not increased the damage/defence of the monster system since 12 years.. and probably there are many different kind of mobs (with different damage calc) stronger or weak dependings on zones who know :?

Well, looking just only at ToA extra cap bonus, player has becomed a way stronger than how was on classic times, and regen rates also has been increased, and i dont think that mobs are the same as was from the beginning..

Anyway, as someone stated, finding group was a lot more easy on Live because of 2k of player online, this afternoon i was trying to exp my Thane and a friend Rune, but without any support class LFG (but only dps) we havent made anything.. at least on live, regeneration of hp/endu is higher so you dont have to wait 5min after 1 pull ^^

Yesterday I recognized the same bug in thidranki. Every melee did 1 damage, even with 2hand :D The cold dd proc from my lvl 48 warrior did about 59damage but every hit was only 1. Guess something truely is wrong :D
