Besides rupting no there isn't, and when you're rupting you needn't worry much about damage.

You fight a warden, you have to use 1hand weapon and when you fight a mage, it's erally usefull to switch to 1hand weapon after mez, you have time to use the hammer side chain, stun him for 2 sec and then use 2hand weapon :p

But that's solo situation, no group situations :p

Against wardens you only need 1h to break bt, you won't use it to hit him. Against a mage you can just as easily do side styles with 2h. Unless he's afk and lets you break his bt and then do side styles without ever facing you.

Mage vs skald is a poor example anyway, the odds of a solo mage killing a skald on uthgard... well there's no way to do it unless the skald is afk or literally braindead. Maybe with jugger 3 pet.

That pet was buged, i meleed it and he DD ed me still, plus if the mincer puts pet on pasive and then on active again after i meleed it it starts over the DDs , also pet is not near the Mincer.. if the player is smart he should be positioned further then his pet..cause if u go and hit the pet, until u get to mincer he starts DD ing again and so on.. noooooooo Amadeth u r the only smart player around here, problem is 2 times on our encouters 1 VS 1 u died with IP2 VS me after i splited you in half like a god damn cabbage

I would agree that in GvG with a pet, the Minstrel can't really be called a melee class since he has too much on his mind to use melee profoundly. But still, it does seem to be the most complex class that could be called melee.

But, what I really had in mind when I wanted to roll a melee class was really more like a savage. I wanted to kill things and RMs are, IMO, a bit boring in terms of a variety of abilities. I also liked the idea of being up close and personal. But, as I looked at the different abilities Savages have to play with, I kind of gave up on the idea. Though the PvP content in WoW was ****** (I quit like half a year after release, when the BGs were released), I really found the melee gameplay more complex with my rogue. DAoC is complex in different ways, but just in terms of the abilities to use at the right moments, for melee classes it felt plain. Minstrels and Healers, however, are another story.

If youre looking for an easy-to-play, but complex meleeclass, you might want to try a valewalker. Theyve got lots of tricks up their sleeves, considerably good defense, fotm dps and castLL.

savage is mostlikely the easiest class to play on uthgard atm, and zerkers are just same, dumping all they have while using anytimer from behind an enemy.

Yup valew is a nice class, i agree with Satz, duno why hibs dont take VW in their grps, especially that it has BAOD good VS casters, and a nice rr5 that add 500 points as a MHB, he s resistant almost as a paladin having 34% abs and not beeing weak to any type of dmg ,even tho he has cloth with shield he makes around 550+ AF.
Stun from back good when chasing, disease proc on weap and it enters alot wehn beeing with asist train, Good dmg,close to hero and better then champion, no stoicism but with a det5 he can be played just nice, good rupter even if he s rooted and the style wich snares targets in a cone is formidable, not sure it has it here but it can stop an asist train as long his target its facing him. If i d go hib Vw i d pick.
