That's just your opinion, have you considered the fact that these group that ask you if you are out to play a clean competitive 8v8 don't have the same definition ?

I mean, if you talked about it and decided that groups shouldn't swoop hills and both groups agreed to that, why not. But if it's not the case, from their point of view, I don't see why they shouldn't

In any case, DAoC is not meant to be played competitively, you can try to add meta rules to make it competitive but since there is no referee or ingame script that give victory to one or the other, you will never come to term

Being myself in a lot of competitive gaming and even organizing event, the point in competitive gaming is often to use and abuse any mechanics the game has to offer and that is not prohibited. There are many bug exploits that are totally ok in competitive scene, so hearing people crying about people using terrain strategically to gain advantage in a warfare game is... quite laughable

(no biggie, plenty of action, we get it).

We run Odins and Emain equally, depending on the action. Hope you don't join the dodging club anytime soon :)
Until today, fights against hib grps where surprisingly easy - even against groups that counter our setup.

Been dead NA time when we form sadly lately :( - but we much much much would prefer to roam hib. We had one decent fight with you over the weekend that lasted a few minutes, but you guys prevailed, either way was fun.

Killing someone in 15 seconds on either side is not fun nor challenging - If that's your view then you in it for the RPS only. We like to earn RPs as well but also want to have fun engaging fights that are challenging. If a mid tanker runs on hills only and then dive bombs everytime, they are not looking for fun or challenging fights, they are looking for RPS and easy wins. In this meta/patch level of DAOC, the chance to recover is very slim, though it does happen. It would be like if we found an alb caster group standing AFK in a tree, blanket mezzed them, and assisted them down in 10 seconds - sure we won, but did we really? No, we killed people half afk, semi-paying attention and would much rather have a fun challenging fight is there an "8man" that runs nornally.

8v8 "rules" have been around for 15 years - theres common deceny and courtsey that goes along with fighting the same "group of plays (ie. 8man)" on a regular basis - You have the opportunity to be a scumlord, but that does't make you good, especially in this instance of daoc. TBH the NA action has been ****** lately, so will see where uth even ends up going.

No.

Having the statisfaction to have lead your opponent into a good trap that gives you a crushing fight is something that people can enjoy without being "the baddies that only want RPs"
