perma OF QQing gets boring...

better loose this 20 perma complaining guys than all the others again which started cause OF :P

why make it so complicated if channelers would make it all so much better, i really dont get ... bonus to odins bonus here bonus there bonus in the ass... DAOC doesnt need no ****** bonuses to make it attractive! DAoC RvR has always been the most valueable thing in this game and most people that cut other mmorpgs to play daoc again say that its because of its RvR System. u dont need no more exp camps to get exper to the zones so they can spend some more rps to zubasa, the system works itself IF the basics are given by the staff.. e.g. no porttimers

IMO, main root cause is there is simply no RvR but GvG in ZF
So main solution => promote RvR => promote any system which push people to rush in ZF when they see a keep is under attack => promote any system wich permits to balance time to zerg a keep and time to come and defend it.

If it is well balanced and if consequences to have a keep is a lot of importance for a realm, then the game will be interesting for everybody, both realm who is attacking and realm who will defend.

I understand it means almost NF but why I never change DAoC to any new mmo is basically becuase of massive RvR. So OF or NF, who cares, but need true RvR. Keep OF if you prefer but promote RvR in any way.
NF interest was clearly towers because it gives time to inc and defend. If you find something else, let's go!

The number of people here is sufficient. I was playing on Carnac (before and after merging with Orcanie) and I saw massive attack/defend of Keeps with lower players on off server than on Uthard

That's a positive attitude :)

One idea is to give RP/BP bonus for every enemy keep that your realm controls. Like, 5% per keep?

i play during GMT -6. during euro primetime there are tons and tons out in rvr i had a blast the few times i got to play during primetime. was groups out, zergs out, solo's out and some duo's.

but during my 9pm or euro 3am there is very little action someone might get a group together and go get enough keeps to open up df. sometimes you get keep defenders but is rare. solo action is viable during 9pm but is a little slow very few hibs and lot of albs mostly stealthers and a few alb visiables that make my thane cry! and is a few mid solo'rs that can be fround in emain but not many visables.


i guess the lack of rvr players don't really bother me cause i'm from the us server gawaine and played realm of midgard. we were the lowest population server and my realm was the underdog was so bad we had /level 30 and we had high xp bonuses to get more to level there when you created a new account it directed players to try us. we were the last server and realm to complete ml10 a year into NF release so population problems haven't really bothered me at all.

one thing we did do was when a relic was in jeapardy we would suicide on the dragon or other epic mob and go defend and end the raid. or stop leveling an alt and go keep defend. i think it may as some suggested a change in mindset to get more out into rvr ei make the rewards worth it loot off lords, higher bounty points in desolate reagions, make pve in old frontier worth it and make it risky at same time. i like the frontier xp better due to risk of being found. frontier quests might be a fun alternative and make them fun, long, risky and great rewards or EPIC!

just my two copper i'm having a blast in OF dispite the slow time in my time period gmt-6.

the more "non" rvr'ers will come out and play --> more action --> more might go 8v8 , solo, or smallman

To be completely rational here, if I'd know how end RvR and the Uthgard RvR system was at lvl 50, I don't think I'd start here again if I had the chance.

I love OF and classic, sure, but when RvR is close to dead and the staff doesn't want to at least give some solutions a shot, together with the completely imbalanced (and even custom aswell >.>) RA system, I really have a hard time figuring out why on earth I would waste days and days of my free time getting 50 and templated, only to struggle to find RvR groups every day.

I'll probably see how all this pans out, but I'm definately waiting for a decent alternative meanwhile, since my hopes for the staff to actually fix this in a reasonable way are rather low. I've put too much effort into this server already, I can't be assed anymore, since 75% of that time is a waste, just like the end RvR. [(building grp: 20min - 1hr), running to Emain: 10min per run, finding inc: 2-20+ min per run, fighting inc: 10-30min in total]

In short, I just can't be bothered trying to reach out solutions anymore since it will most likely lead to nothing but a waste of efforts. Good luck fixing this...




PS: Zerg vs zerg will only make the regular fgs quit, resulting in one zerg easily being the strongest, making the enemy zerg log out and eventually the winning zerg aswell. This will kill RvR in a matter of weeks since Uthgard's RvR population does not provide enough players to sustain both zerg and other forms of RvR. Once there's a zerg running around, it's either join them or log out.

I totaly dont get it. NFs are cursed or what? We've had RvR in NF zones for years and only random port/keep/speed changes made ppl whine about them. Now we've switched to definately worse RvR-system but you still cant admit it.

Maybe i'm wrong but most ppl here play for Fun so i dont understand why you're stuck to one idea of RvR if it doesnt work at all.

Not to mention OF zones didnt make me feel like we're more classic or something...

Everyone who dislikes new OF should roll bg twinks or play other games (like Heroes of Newerth :D) and when OF is completely empty maybe some new better xp spots and porting system will be implemented. Like when porters in agra were removed.

Well, everyone who soloed already does that, most of the people who duoed/trioed also, and as I see many of the people that play 8v8 are starting to complain too.

But does the server RvR really need to completely die (or be reduced to a zerg-only Emain) for the staff to realize something has to be done?

The port system always suxx on live!That's why they firstly implement the second port 30sec after ,and then visur was there all time,you just have to buy medallion and clic on him.That was just before NF.Then NF was the best add on for RvR because of different gameplay it offered.Agramon for 8vs8,bridges for solo/stealthers and keeps for those who played real RvR.Keeps harder to take= more action.Actually when you got message of keep under attack,it's too late...With NF or your port directly in keep and defend or you take tower and people must inc by roads = fights.
Make keeps harder to take with Realm alert message when door at 75/50% and there will be more RvR action.
Other good thing in NF,was reward on kill of lord (key to open keep chest=loot).Give this and Pve player will come instead of farming if there's a descent loot (respec stone/bundle of sceals/good items (like Moran)).
Last solution for more action without changing anything by staff,high RR players move to Brefine for fight and let emain to low RR,half grp and solo.Today again,i was zerged with half grp by Zubaband+1fg of stealthers at amg.Sorry,but this kind of unbrained gameplay don't give me interest of going emain.
What i see anyway is that's only high RR zerger that cry about RvR population,but THEY kill RvR themselves by their stupid playing.
