Oh c'mon. The only chance an Animist got of dealing huge dmg is by camping somewhere. Just go around them, stealth past them or take the other milegate. In groups their dmg dealing abilities are just minor.

I'm sorry but if you're comparing an Anis dmg which takes 20seconds to set up decently to a Savage/Reaver who can 4hit my fullbuffed Druid in a matter of few seconds you have to get your head out of your ass.

I just wanted to add something constructiv to this threat and show an
instant kill of an animist to proof the possiblity of an instant kill of an
animist. It was the funniest thing i've seen since the self-buff-bug of the
savage and i enjoyed the (short) fight. It didnt matter for me if it was a
bug, op of animist or just live-like. In that situation i was just laughing
about this funny rare sensation.

PS: Cool down guys and get your long, big, oily and overpowered monster-dongers a cold shower.

Hah! ...Hahah!

Yes, because armor is gonna stop the static leviathan DD!
/sarcasm off.

So, I think everyone here is speaking out of their own RvR experience?
Good.
I also have the feeling almost everyone is saying directly or indirectly that SI classes are verpowered?

I can't agree more. As a hero I can take down most classes solo, if I'm in trouble, I can still try to moose and hope for the best.
However I have learned that against every SI tank class (VW, Svg, Reaver), my hero just feels like a toy for them to play with.
Solo Savages tear me up due to quad/triple hits combined with selfbuffs in matter of seconds. No need for slam on these guys.
Vws, same story they hit like a truck and don't even get me started on their DD styles.
Reavers: The Leviathan style is plain ridiculous, it deals 50-100 more dmg PER HIT with a FAST 1hander (combined with a shield o.O), compared to a 5.5 MP 2hander. Lemartes struck me down before Slam wore off, while I only managed to get down about 50% of his health during my slam.

Moose is just giving me more time to /rel in these fights, while I have a fairly balanced fight against pretty much every classic tank.

Mythic didn't give classic classes their own DD styles from later patches just for fun..

SI classes are OP and we know it. Why would we try to spend even more time and effort on them than we already have by nerfing/'fixing' them when we know it can't be done in a way anywhere near something that can be considered livelike? It will only push this server more and more to a custom instead of a classic server. Custom changes will Always be in the heat of discussion, most of them will practiaclly never end. Besides, the time used on this could be better spend on improving the RvR system, implementing quests, improving housing, ...

IMO, remove them! Give the players an equally advanced class in return and stop this unending discussion on what to do with them, it's only bad for the server and community. Classic DAoC was ment to be balanced, SI classes were ment to be OPed so that people would be more likely to buy the x-pack! There's no reason to have OPed classes on a classic server!

I would love a change like this more than a new RvR system tbh, balance above all.

PS: I keep saying it.. OF > NF. I really don't need sieging to make RvR more fun, I really don't need boats / water fights. It just makes it less fun for fulltanks/siegers themselves. I mean firing trebuchets may look cool, but that's about it, it's boring to watch the bar and even more boring to wait for the enemy to come out / attack doors.

My (and a lot of other players') view on what would make Uthgard THE best (DAoC) server (not freeshard, Server!) alive:

- Remove SI classes.
- Implement OF.
- Implement waiting pad porting. (of course no 10min! 3-5 is sufficient!)
- Implement Old RAs with a little balancing to the timers. (30 mins on some RAs is just too much)
- Implement old quests.

Just my 2 cents.. well not just mine, I know enough other people that would love to see this become reality!

Totally agree with Zarkor and his Idea of removing Si Classes, as Uth is ment to be a classic server

Completely agree with Zarkor. Remove the classes and give everyone a fair chance. After that we need to do some tweaking to rogue classes. :D Viper, dodge...king of any 1v1. Oh boy...did i just open a can of worms?

*** as a personal note. I too have literally died to an animist in 1 second due to 15 pets spam. Errrr...tank with max resists and still get hit for 100-150 per pet x 15 pets.

Another way beside removing the SI classes is to custom balance them out against classic classes at certain well defined and well thought points. I would like to take this approach since the classes offer new styles of gameplay and I don't want to see this disappear.

To do such balancing it first needs a type of benchmark to measure how good a class really is compared to others. This could be done by some powergamers playing the class at their best and measuring xp gain rate or rp gain rate over time.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
