Replace midgard zerker against mercs should work better, because of chain armor and shield.

on pvp server like mordred or camlann u saw what classes are a waist compared to other realms...
why take a merc in grpplay if u can take a BM? bm abilities surpass merc abilities... merc is only awesome in 1v1
taking a paladin? lawl take a bard or shaman for it.

Why?

i thought merc>bm>zerk

Because merc ve chain armor + slam, bm ve slam, zerk ve none of it.

better styles for starters, on uthgard definately better defense (try slamming BM without working defense penetration) and arguably better rr5 (again, on uthgard it's basicaly invulnerability to melee).

edit: I am talking BM vs merc obviously

The main reason BM is better in group play is that the BM's RR5 is great for being able to help the BM get back to his supposrt while not taking dmg. The Merc's RR5 is only useful in more 1 vs 1 fights. I would say Merc is better in 1 vs 1 and BM is better in any sort of group action.

Bm have the "3rd blade" that increase a lot the damage, and u still be capable of evade/parry (zerk can't during fury), and the rr5 is like godmode (till will get fixed, but still a very good ability) so it's definitly better bm than merc for group play!

as i played a zerker and a bm through the bg's lately i can say zerker deal more base dmg (but not that much) + have the zerker mode which grants a high dmg boost + he can switch his mainhand weapon between crush and slash. While BM have a LOT more utility with side stun, slam and can deal quite the same burst dmg with flurry and tripple wield, but without these the zerker deals a bit more dmg over time. I prefere BM > Zerk, but as assist team i would pick both.

I can't speak a lot about mercs as i never played one

zerker without his back combo (that no requiem player would use because of bleeding) deals equal or even less dmg than a bm
