btw. Sethor in general I agree that 2h PAlas do suck.. I also must admit that I once played in a group with 2 2h Palas, 1 Friar, 2 Clerics, 1 Merc, 1 Sorc and 1 Minstrel. The Combination was very endurable... after all we managed to kill a zerg of 3 Groups...

But that was back in OF where the Pala still had his 100% Group Instant RA. Having 5 Rezzers, 4 Group Instants and 4 Single Instants as well as 3 Healers pays off. Group was around RR 5 - RR 8

Best working group in Albion imho: Caster group

All caster at least a bit lifeleech specced... with MOC 2, veeery evil but just not buildable here

I think Castergroups could work well on Uthgard and i guess it will only take some time until we see one wreck havoc on all the Tanks, people just need to get used to the idea.

I would bet that, if you could get some good players behind the idea, you could run an evil Caster group, even in Albion.
Sure it might be easier in other realms, but on Live i have met Alb groups who were realy good and beat my group on a regular basis and i was RR9 ML10 and all that, like most of the rest of my group and i thought i was good.

Someone mentioned that Mids are rather fighters and Hibs are rather casters, while Alb is between the 2. If this is true...

As I see Alb has caster advantage against Mids.
They need 3 chars to give all the buffs, they got to be made uneffective first, with casters, not tanks. Elementals, wizards, DoT. Tanks GOT TO protect the casters from enemy tanks, not run away to catch enemy casters!

And as I see Alb has Fighter advantage against Hibs.
This is where tanks can rush the enemy, and where mages have to assist.

everybody has think to learn everytime...

exemple...

when you play a theu, you target a caster and so push on spam pet button till you can clic an other one... so more pets for the same work. if you have one pet attacking your caster, you kill the pet, if there are 3 pets you let your caster running.

if the stealther show himself, it s really hard to PA somebody that is not in fight. so maybe times to other could be nice to show to frighten but usualy it s better you stay stealthed.

sure things are much more easy at lower level. till you can play a little bit smartly with a nice tactic and TS you ll win cause guys front of you are, for most of them, beginners too. i enjoyed to kill FG with mercenary and sorcerer group, or even with just a cabalist when braemar was a big castel.

but things are really different at level 50, versius experimented players and high RPed chars.

i don't want to tell you "you know nothing, i know all" cause i have certainly much more things missing in my knowledge than lot of people here, but so i think nobody can say to the others what to do... sure there is evident things as "dont break mezz" there is some that are less evident as "kill the healer first" or "protect our casters" or "detaunt when you have agro in PVE group".

there no really "anytime things to do" and everybody has to react following the situation. when you are beginner, maybe you have problem to know what to do and older player can tell you some things to do or not do, but with the time you get a "skill" of playing and you learn to know when to stop healing and attack this stupid healer that nobody attack, or stop to assist leader(if you already play with assist leader it's not bad ^^) to get a better target.

and i think it's THAT that is missing on alb


PS: aidan i don't really get what you mean, albion should be better than mid cause they can do caster group more easily and would win versius fighter group? and after that you say that they should win versius hib cause they can do more easily fighter group...? so following your idea in one case or in the other alb should loose...
things are not so simple. it's not cause you have such a group that you'll win... it's the way you play it

i think the real good point for alb is for stealthing group, thanks to minestrel

Yeah.. just waiting for the first bomb tower to whipe off the zerg... Too bad the tower is very hard to play on Albion.

Alot was already said.. although i want to add a few advices:

- Know your enemies.. If u loose a battle, check out their classes (uthgardstats for example). Find their support (Healer etc..)
U should be able to recognize ppl like: Aderal,Isilmer,Osiris,...

- Know the enemy classes. I have read some post about Braemar, where a scout claimed to attack an important healing target.. but actually it was just the thane that was annoid :p

- Albion has the advantage of endurance. Hibs have obout ~3-4 aktiv Bards. Mids only 3 aktiv shamis. But Albion never lacks in Palas, everyone should have endu.. why do i mention it? Casters RUN ^^

There is something i realized in mid. For alot people Braemar is the first place to get started in real RvR (not talking about beeing greykilled in df^^).
Braemar sure is alot fun, but the problem is:
U dont need any tactics, knowledge about the gameplay or even teamwork to win.
So the people, who leave braemar think:
It worked well in braemar.. why not in Wilton or emain ?
I personally hate Wilton-Groups. Alot of ppl do great crap. They dont know me.. so most of them dont listen to me =/ And they keep doing crap...

There are many Plans/Tactics to win. The reason why most of them fail, is simple: Not all groupmembers excute those plans/tatics in a proper way.

Its all said i think just few examples of situations why Alb is down:

Its just like every ingame-war or reallife-war:

All need to play together and teamplay is an answer of how to win and it doesnt depend all on Realmranks or support classes imho.
Just think of the meaning RvR instead of PvP.

Panachier, I dont know if you are right about "lack of playing skill", as I said we started only a month ago, you are longer ago here, you should know better. Probably its true, after what we experienced here.
But if this is true we should speak about tactics even more, between 2 rounds in siege in the party! What was wrong, what was missing, how can we do it? As I see here usually players do what they want or someone says "I lead, do as I say!".
First is totally chaos second misses different points of views.

This is a game, should relax and give some joy and excitement in the end of the day. Capturing a tower or keep is fun and gives motivation, but fulfilling a tactic, strategy can be even better! first scout, what do they have, what chars do we have, work out a plan together and then go! I am sure everybody would enjoy that better.

This is a well known Problem not related to DAoC only.
Try not to speak to an unknown mass of people without adressing one of them personal, chances are everybody will think someone else will answer and you will get no answer at all.

Its the same in RL when you yell "can someone help me" and there are 50 people around.
Everybody will look and chances are that all of them will look away after the first look and think that one of the other many people will help for sure.
And you get no help at all.
If you adress one of them personaly, most of them will be friendly and help you.


Try this and i promise you will have a lot more success:

1. Type /who 30 40 and as a result you will get the names of all Players between level 30 and level 40 in your realm who are not /anon.

1a. Because you are 34, you could also just try /who Wilton and see if someone is there

2. Look where they are and decide which of them to ask.

3. /send that player, tell him you want to level and ask him if you can join them.

This works far better.
At least it worked for me.
Took me 10 days /played time to get my group unfriendly Ranger to 50.
I am not sure if that is fast or not, but it felt quite quick.

Youre right Gerbald and in most cases its the only way to find someone but its a shame for an alliance with six guilds in it that just few poeple answer in relation whos online (if someone answer btw).

@ Padras yes that was great Battle yesterday in Emme, i enjoyed it a lot and you helped our Healer to get 50 - thx for that

and btw we were 4 Mids and about 15 Albs

but dont complain - it will getting better- i promise, Albion is now at the Point where Mid was when I started playing here. We get wiped everytime. I just remember Gerbald:

Their will be always 1 Realm who is TOP at the moment, but I saw this as a challenge

Not my aim to get your healers 50 but gz to them anyway...but i make my job and mezzed but senseless if we cant control the situation after it.
Btw this is a situation of our Realm not my failure alone...i tried to make best and learn in RvR...and my name is Padras not Albion if you know what i mean.

I have tried to lvl a sorc and a cleric here. Its very lonely at level 5-15 (as far as I got on either solo) Ive only seen a couple ppl in the week I have been here. Anyone I have asked for group would not.

Its not the bonuses (though looking at other realms bonus makes you want to level there) its the people that are keeping the Alb realm barren.

If you see somone trying to level up and help you guys out on the battle field you should extend a hand and help them out.. in any way. No fun = no people. Believe me its no fun at all to level a char by yourself.

I gave up and went to Mid. What a difference. Higher level people gave me items and money (though I would never ask it does help alot). There were people to group with. Like night and day from Alb.

If you want Alb to be even on the playfield in RvR then you must turn your attentions to the people trying to level up and get out there with you guys.
