Why I don't join endgame rvr

Did you read my previous comments ? edit : reading your other answers on this topic, what about you go troll elsewhere ?
I think it sums up the problem pretty much. DAoC is an 8-years game, and the time and effort needed to be on par with groups that have been playing in teams for years is simply too big. What would be needed is more ways to play in RvR, including ways that are casual-friendly (cough keeps cough). |

2 skald setup kicks azz! Even better than our 3 healer setup... only prob is that both skalds need to be RR8+ and grp skilled with RA's. Without paxx impossible, we miss you ![]() |

100% right But you forget something too. The 8v8 policy=split everybody, because if your guild get more than 8 members in area, and be able to build 2 fg,you'll become a "Noob zerging DGlike guild". So if your guild got more than 8 members, create a new one ... |

people spamming /lfg and not networking with other recent lvl 50 4l2 guys to form 12 mans. THERE IS NOTHING STOPPING YOU GUYS! but it seems there just arn't the people to take the initiative and make them :p

98% wrong more like it. 1.) I'm one of those people who play with my high rr friends. Of course our priority is to invite other friends but if none are available it's not uncommon to pick up someone who's standing in the teleport keep and basically fresh out of thidranki. Smart people won't judge players just by their realmrank. If someone doesn't want to invite a player only because they're low rank, they're retarded. 2.) Stupidly subjective point of view. High rr groups aren't immortal. Just yesterday I joined the most random mid pug with a bunch of low rrs where we killed a very high realm rank alb group, twice. 3.) True but soloing sucks anyway unless you're an assassin or ranger. 4.) No. I see all kinds of setups every day. There's a fine line between fun setup and retarded setup. Most people's goal when going to rvr is to do as best they can to win, with a thane and 2 skalds no matter how well you play you won't do well in rvr. You can beat bad groups no doubt about that, but you'll definitely wipe to any decent group. 5.) That's because mid tank setups are so overpowered in terms of both spike damage and dps there's no need for caster support (mid casters are only about damage, very little utility so not really mandatory unlike a sorcerer, cabalist or eldritch). Has nothing to do with players but server design. Personally I love mid caster groups because they can dish out insane amounts of damage but fact is casters are a lot harder to play than stick&style berserkers, warriors and savages. Also there's no spell or ability out there that disables a tank for 1.5 minutes. The Bird of the Hermes is my name

1) find 7 people to play with regularly
2) level a group 3) ??? 4) profit As you can see 3) is the hard part. It consists mostly of finding replacements for people that left and learning how to play DAoC. |

I love how this post aims at asking people who don't rvr why they don't rvr, and ends up filled with people explaining to the few casuals that posted why they are wrong, and how it's ridiculously easy to own any high rr team that have been running for years with 7 newbies and a cat.
Keep going like this guys, but don't wonder why people don't join you in the frontiers. |

It isn´t. And it shouldn´t be. But it is certainly possible to start a group here and win fights. People who don´t want to do RvR will not do RvR. It´s that simple. But don´t complain about losing if you are not up to do what it takes to win. This is a PvP game. |

Not with casual players/inexperienced players. Every single team getting results here has years of practicing DAoC (or a large majority of his players has), you know it.
Who complains here ? People asked a question, and other people answered that question, I see no complaint. |

This
U just failed the topic, sure it requires time and effort haveing a good 8vs8 team, u deserve ur RP. But thats not the point here. This topic is for casual players which will never ve the time for doing rvr on a daily basis like 3h+ or even close to it. So we need some possibilitis to make those players (im one of them) to take part in RvR (succesfullly) as well. If there would be one, there wont be any complains about empty rvr zones and noone would ever opens a thread like this. ![]() |

you can't just say "it's the player's fault for not zerging"
You need to give INITIATIVES to go rvr or to zerg...even in OF on live servers at least the guard system and relic system WORKED. Over here there is no reason to take keeps except for DF because taking keeps DOESNT MAKE RELIC TAKING EASIER. Thats a HUGE reason why keep taking doesn't happen much. Zerg leaders come and go but they don't do anything in the long term. And seriously people stop blaming HIGH RR groups!!! Everyone tries to be good, and the "elitist mentality" is in every.single.game. But in other games you can avoid facing high rr groups because there are places to go and things to do in PVP/RVR that attracts other casual players also. The only real example of that at lvl 50 rvr here is DF fighting, and that is pretty much how a lot of people I know (Methz, Foshi), got high RR so quickly. But that is a terrible form of casual rvr. This server just plows you into the one and only Emain Macha to find action, and guess what??? It's only a zone that you run around in and fight people with absolutely nothing else to do in there, and you can't just blame the people running in that zone for being much better or higher realm rank. And if you try to go into any other rvr zone, then you probably won't find action for at least 30 minutes even if you start banging on keep doors. <Vanquish>

I personally feel that you would see more low RR rvr if you increased bonuses for doing things outside of normal PvP. Basically, increase rps for doing group and solo gaurd tasks. Make doing recon missions worth more. Increase rps output for taking keeps. Get rid of 15 minute timer on doing solo tasks. By doing this it will make getting rps easier for the person who claims they cant compete because there low RR. Now, if you really want to compete then you can if you just put in some time doing some missions to supplement your normal PvP. I do alot of missions to get rps on my ranger and bm, as well as some normal rvr and it works out nicely. If you increased the amount on these missions and made them easier and faster to do then more people would do them and get there chars up to higher RR's. Another problem is the line of sight issues on scouts and other gaurds. As it stands you either need to ram the door down solo or go to a few different keeps to get your solo gaurd tasks. This is just my 2 cents on a potential solution. More people doing keeps means more people (small man and solo) can go to these keeps and try and kill the people killing gaurds as well.

Guard tasks pahh. People accuse da leet gank squadz of being rp horny but they themselves have no trouble killing NPCs to get arpees.Kinda funny huh. Not saying you do RonELuvv but seeing both things in the same thread made me spill it.
Can't contribute much to this discussion since if I didn't play 8v8 I can't imagine any "incentive" like more rps for keeps or w/e would make me RvR in OF. New Frontiers on the other hand. ![]() |
