No, it's not actually...

I was invited into high RR groups even before RR5, if you are a good player then you will be invited no matter what RR.

The truth is people either are lazy or ****** at daoc, and prefer Counterstrike style gameplay in the BG.

I can't wait for Thid to become 20-24 and BGs end at 35.

Even though this is true, they still are a huge part of the RvR community and should not be chased away for it. DAoC was never a very 'newb-friendly' game, but on the other hand it never chased away any of those players from end-RvR as it does on Uthgard because there always were enough other noobs to fight against to train your skills.
On Uthgard you either have those skills or get treated as trash. It's up to you whether you try and still have fun in an RvR zone that's either empty or simply destroying your attempt of having fun without mercy almost every single time.

It's not easy for those players and they play the game they want to play it. The state of end-RvR is currently just all but fun for them, which is a shame imo. I'd rather have 60 more 'bad' players in Emain than in the BGs or not on the server at all because those players will make it possible for other likeminded players to at least enjoy end RvR here and there instead of getting chased away from it as it is now. Without them, end RvR will never come close to what it used to be. Without them, Uthgard will never come close to what DAoC used to be. And last but not least, without them enjoying end-RvR, Uthgard will be likely never to reach the 1k playercap again...

But I don't think that one can draw any conclusion from this.

I think such a statistic can only be useful if its taken over a long time period, half a year at least. I am planning to do this for ten weeks, not longer. And then maybe a 2nd ten weeks when Old RAs are established. So I won't continue that figure ;)

this graph makes my brain hurt :P

Just asymptotes about the usage of classes in relation to the time. Simple maths :P

last week I had no time to add week15, so that week is missing. Now I added week 16, but it's anyways called week number 15 in the statistic as it's simply the 15th week counted in there ;)

I think the statistic is done over enough weeks now to get a good picture. So I am finished with this one, thread can be unstickied, have fun discussing.

Thanks,
Rector

Hey,

I've been on a hiatus from Uthgard or even DaoC as a whole for a while now, but i wanted to bring something out that i started on when i still played... I commented on Rectors graphs that i loved em, and was thinking about making something like them, but automated, and well, i did. I did, waddup?

One thing my API doesn't allow is double Y axis, which is a shame, like woot double Y axis...
On the other hand though, who cares! :D BAM

nah nah nah, jk, it's a start and, well, though i don't play uthgard actively anymore, i still wanted to get it out. It was just sitting there for months and it was eating away at me that i hadn't made anything of it...

so visit Like, right here.

it updates without interference, without human contact, though i want to optimize the hell out of it, it is still better than writing every lwrp score down and generating the graphics in excel 8)

I recommend viewing this in a Chrome browser, but for the other people i will soon back it up with a sucky brower version so everyone gets the same experience. :P Like... HTML5 is goooood

Feel free to leave a comment about the stats, the glwrp or the warmap. Trolls will be trolled upon, twice the amount they trolled( if humanly possible ).

Your site is suspended. Maybe your scripts are too inperformant?

yeah, i've noticed, problems with the free hosting... i'll figure it out, but i probably caused too much cpu load for the free hosting, i'll work on caching tonight. It is just a temp suspension which can be deactivated any time.

I put the stats for characters >= lvl 50 rr4l3 as a temporary placeholder while i figure out what to do about it.

WoW thats awesome work from both of you. Nice to see that there is someone working on this stuff. I think alot of people are interested in how the RP's a split over the realms etc.
Keep on going =)

But imo it looks like your statistics are wrong. If I sum up the LWRP rougly from the Herald I end up with Midgard beeing the winner of the week, you say Midgard got least of all.

The data it displays was last updated 11/3/2011 18:10:43CET. The lwrp you are counting will be included in the next update, which should happen on 18/3/2011.

Midgard had least of all lwrp (for the restrictions 4l2+ and lvl50) in the week from 4/3/2011 -> 11/3/2011.

(edit) I'll haveto agree with you that the data is incorrect, by a small margin, but it is, guess i'll haveto check for incorrect data in my table (/edit)

(edit) What happened is: I created the placeholder pictures on my homeserver which has an incorrect old copy of the player table,i'll fix it  (/edit)

(edit) What i said before these edits is true again, the data is correct now. (/edit)

So... a little update here,

I didn't have much time to do much at all, but i got to a point where my site wont get pulled because of the CPU load, which in itself is a victory IMO ^^. On the other hand i have stuff in my head that needs to get implemented when i get time, different kind of caching for the stats for sure, since they only refresh weekly, i got it in my head, now it needs a slot irl where I'll actually do it...

As for features, i liked my open ended slider idea, but it was a pain thinking of a plan to make it work on a free hosting plan with caching and stuff, do leave feedback about the ranges I've selected, i did not feel comfortable going for those ranges since i don't think you can really pinpoint this stuff (e.g.: I just left thidranki with 200k lwrp but am 4L2). So go ahead and discuss some decent ranges and I'll follow the general consensus, NP there.

Now, what to expect for features, I'd say I'll eventually do the stealther pie chart close to the style rector did it, but probably after i deal with caching and time issues.

The idea is to move the overall statistics update to early morning Sunday (like... 5am GMT or so) and keep it there forever. Furthermore I'd like to create a zipped up package of the stats before i update them (automatically offc). This way i can have em upload somewhere(automatically offc) and everyone can have access to old -> new statistics for whatever reason...

The latest additions i did at the same time with statistics were basically an upgrade for the glwrp.... I look at my google analytics page once in a while, and the thing that pops out is that this page is the most visited. Thats why i put in some effort towards adding the amount of members/guild. If you click a guildname you will get a new tab with their site (if they have one). And for people who didn't know this table is fully sortable by any of the columns.

Thats it for now, thanks for the visits, give me some feedback on the statistic ranges please.

I rly like these statistics Rector, but for me it would be quite interesting to compare LWRP's from players below 4L3 with LWRP's from players above 4L3.
=> Just to compare BG activities with emainactivities.
If this is possible - would be cool if you could check that also ^^

Oh sry seems like Rizla made smth like this XD

I dont like to see that you talk in this thread, because the real big statistic thread was this one:
http://uthgard.net/index.php?option=com ... 32&t=18435

This here is just a little part of it, just one week out of 15.

So can a moderator please close this thread, and move the new posts from here (beginning with the post from Rizla) to the other thread?
