We WERE excited when Uth 2.0 came out, we waited for over 2 years in fact, then we realized that it was no fun with the grind being how it was. People don't owe population a thing, they will play what's worthwhile and fun to them. We asked the Devs in droves for some changes and were ignored. So rather than get ****** at others who weren't also willing to waste their time, we left.

I'm ecstatic for you that you stuck around and are enjoying your time, but you know who didn't? 4,000 people...

Uthgard is fine, with all its flaws and devs playing for 1hour on a daily basic (wonder how much of that 1hour is spend on horseriding)

To address the players who can't see the problems with Uthgard leading to its declining popularity, understand that it relaunched at a time when no viable competition existed. Many of us came from Genesis and had been pleased with their handling of certain QoL features and its encouraging of groups through bonus XP. That project may have failed in some respects, notably with rough performance, persistent bugs, and the allowance of buff bots (a personal deal breaker of mine), but they were willing to make meaningful changes.

By comparison, the Uthgard dev team has a highly conservative approach and has been completely silent about their plans since August; that's nearly 4 months of nothing while NA population slips further and further. Why would any of us continue devoting our time to character progression, be it leveling alts or participating in RvR, when this is the state of the server and there appear to be no attempts by the devs to resolve it? I can't currently justify logging in and investing hundreds of hours when an alternative is right around the corner. If that alternative also fails, so be it, but at least their team is active and talking about plans for the future. I would like to see some acknowledgement about SI or at least potential fixes for the absence of functioning XP groups. Soloing on certain classes is masochistically slow, and spending two hours failing to put together a group is crushing.

For those of you who are willing to endure the population crash and absence of news or attempted fixes, and derive enough enjoyment regardless, I wish I could say the same. It's not a lack of gratitude (I've had some amazing experiences here), but a need to value my own limited time and where that is spent.

If everybody who was *thinking* of playing came back, there would be around 2 thousand players online at peak. I yearn for this.
What will make that happen? A thread from players encouraging it, or some changes by Blue & Co?

I wote for a closeing of forum, i have ton of fun playing. Yes i want all this exp and changes.

The players disagree with you Drastic. They voted by quitting and they are the large majority.

unfortunately no more major update since August basically apart from several bug fixes.....

i am not sure but i am convinced that _some_ changes would reignite the fire for Daoc or Uthgard for several players that left a long time ago. even if its just for a few months....

INFIS usually has some sort of a group/pug out a few nights per week on Hib. We'll see y'all out there.
