Great event as always, thanks Holsten and DG for showing what this server is still capable of after almost seven months.

What the server sadly is still NOT capable of is managing huge zerg fights. This stream highlight shows the problem:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/170277206

This input lag has been existing since release, and regardless of server upgrades, code improvemts and everything else, this problem still haunts people playing on this server. I honestly don't care at all since I haven't played on this server for a good six weeks, but I remember Blue saying that this issue has been solved in another thread.

Plot twist: It hasn't been solved. And it destroys the fun for me as a caster in zerg fights like it did back during the first months of the server. I don't care if only a portion of players have these problems, or if the delay got "better" in comparison to, let's say, Blue Sunday 1 back in March (because then it was a good three to four seconds). It is still there, and it still drives players away from the server.

It's okay if you've reached your limits, dear devs, but please don't claim that problems don't exist when they clearly still DO exist.

I will never understand all the ****** from people that don't play the game anymore. There were about 400 people out there. DAoC is gonna lag in that situation. That's never a problem though in big zerg fights. In huge ones like today, it's a problem and always has been. In relic raids, etc. we function just fine and never have lag. So I'm not going to gripe about the 1% of the time we have days like today. You say you don't care but you took the time to put together this response. Don't care means you go away and do something else. I love the game, love the server, love the people here and it's all good. It's not perfect but nothing ever is. I appreciate the ability to play the game this way and do so for free.

There were around 600 people in that fight. Its a challenge to engineer to that. Its something that CU hopes to be be built from the ground up to handle, but even today, is still an engineering challenge.

I had 18fps at amg tonight, and fun
ty for organizing Drachengarde!

Those other 199Mids did not care for input lag or frame drops!

Abydos - Jacobs(CU) will never be able to get around this problem, i was ready for the lag problem, that's why i parked a toon in the relic keep in fs! Not going to try and enjoy the lagfest.

Keep up the excellent work Uthgard staff, there's only So much you can do! Kudos on the Ban section, but you need to list all toons on each account and then put their heads up on stakes in all realms for show!

Thx to all who participated! Was fun! Not as many open field fights as I hoped, but still fun.

I guess my fraps captures all crashed, so no vid from me this time. :(

I wish mids would start to read and understand my commands faster... Like if I say: "push the albs through amg as fast as you can, everyone behind will get killed by hibs" half of the bg starts to cry "we get killed by hibs in the back" 2 minutes later without having moved an inch... but whatever

Thx Holsten as usual for the Organisation. Exceptionally i was on the other side and i made serious cash selling green cloth dyes :-P

Anyway, as you mentioned, this Blue Sunday was abit static compared to your other events but still it was fun.

You can not blame the hib players nor the leader for that behaviour. There were several complaints from the Hibs about the static keep camping, but it always depends on the leader. The Hib leader (cant remember the name), was just a cautious one, and maybe with some more balls we may even won an open field battle.. i never saw so many shrooms on the amg plateau :hammer:
But as i said, you cant blame him for this lead, due any wipe will cause in player loss, so it really depends who has the lead.

Anyway, nice evening,- Uthgard is still alive :)

Can we speak numbers for a bit, not so any realm can claim they were outnumbered or got zerged, but just to enjoy how much action was created via this event.

I think the Mid BG peaked at 192 around 45min after it rolled out of SF and had to clean up own frontiers after 30hibbies had droped some green dyes on our map.

After about 2hours I saw a report of 145albs attacking DC.

No real idea of how many hibs, input?

Overall I didnt enjoy this event too much myself, lack of healing and dieing to a single dot gets old. but i still enjoyed the view from the coldground as much as you can ;) Thanks all for comming out. Hope to see more action like this in the future

@Abydos - for a private server this holds up well considering the load.

As for CU, last test had 2611 in clip but again the engine was built with that in mind, and has a backend tailored for cloud hosting/scalability on AWS. I doubt it would be possible without.
