I wont tell you or anybody how to enjoy the game here, that's a personal thing by all means, but i'd like to lay this on a plate real quick for some simplicity.

8man group looking for people to fight. Not always another 8, but something less than 3 full groups is usually ideal. This is pretty fun for all involved - the initial group as well as the 8-16 people they encounter. Fun Fun.

4 Full groups looking for people to fight. Not another 4 groups, just red=dead style. Sounds fun. But alas, nobody to fight - they all just log or run away. How many people in this group of 32 are really enjoying themselves on /stick running around and around? Even when they do find a few people to kill, are they even involved? Do they get to do anything on their character that they have invested so much time in? Has the template they made and paid for really helped out? Has the initial 4 groups had fun? And what about the smattering of players they encounter?

Like I said, enjoy what you will - but I think it's worth taking into account what other people enjoy and how the server and state of play will be effected if they are no longer enjoying themselves. I'm not QQing here either, I'm just laying this all out from a certain perspective.

Large scale battles can be seriously fun, they were especially so in New Frontiers with the keeps and towers and siege etc. but a humongous group of players whizzing around mopping everything up for 15 realm points each, I think, can really kill the mood and effectively be a detriment to a lot of other players.
My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.
You mustn't assume that your personal situation is a reflection of every other person that has logged in to Uthgard.

why do you want anyone to leave? It should be the longterm goal for this server that everybody can have fun in rvr. Whining about add is stupid but to want every 8vs8 player to leave the server is also stupid because 8vs8, Xvs8, 8vsX and XvsX are just normal parts of rvr and that that is what makes rvr so fun. It is absolutely unpredictable if you can have a "clean" fight or something comes rushing in from the side any second

No, I simply decide not to go to the forums and cry salty tears when i get rolled by large numbers, its pathetic.

People like that need to quit uthgard and go play a Moba or team shooter instead of RvR DAoC.

[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt

lordgriffon wrote:Oh by the way... ever seen a group of 8 smite clerics? Or play against a group like that? I have. Absolute devastation. The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

I reported in beta this issue with melee range with mobs and devs said it needs more data:

Issue #520 if you want to provide more data

I wonder where the staff's data came from showing that this is correct...

You also forgot to add:

"How to kill RVR or chase it away: repeatedly run over solo's as an 8-man."

It's just as annoying and ****** for those of us that cannot find groups to save our lives as it is for you guys running "optimal setupz!"

Where does it become acceptable?

If your 8 or less you can gank anything even if it's not a fair fight? Solo, small man... etc.

But if your 9+ this is totally unacceptable?

Not sure I see what the difference is?

Oh good another soloer said what I was going to. People whining about this kind of topic are the height of hypocrisy.
