Statement stands, obviously you haven't tried everything possible if you are here to complain about it, you and everyone else are subject to the same conditions you mentioned out there in the battlefield. I've never had much of a problem with mounts the way they are and that's soloing with a warden and druid.. and ranger/bard before i deleted my old account. You can't win 'em all.

Exactly, that's why i suggested an auto dismount as soon as there is ennemy player in the area (with long range). And don't care if it allows to act as a radar. It's not perfect but better than unbalancing RvR encounter or completly remove them.

This custom feature should have no consequence on any fight.

i also thought horses don't matter much in non paper daoc situations... but the last 2v2 event convinced me of the opposite.

Horse speed does change a lot in 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3 fights. I think disable mounts in pvp areas would be the most simple and best. Or set the timer to call your horse after in combat to at least 2 minutes.

True, but the dismount idea is really crap ^^ Because it IS a radar than, you couldnt really hide anymore, it will never get implemented. I think the only way to stop horses from influencing RvR is removing them from these zones.
I read oh so often that we have those annoying Porting-Times because it was like that on live on Uthgard isnt "insta-everything". So why horses? When you want to speed things up in RvR, there are faster ways that dont give an unfair advantage to certain classes.

Horses are also missing caltrops. Caltrops were given to all the assasin classes at the time of horse mount implementation on live and were essentially mines that they could place that if a mounted enemy rode over it would dismount and snare them.

I'd prefer to see them removed from RvR in total, even if I do have 10s of plat in horses.

as far as i can see the only ppl who are QQing are those who actually play speed classes and i dont understand whats the point?
i mean their speed is always! quicker than the lousy horsespeed.
but i guess ppl just need something to argue about... poor uthgard

LOL what, are you serious?

There is nothing to say what not someone said.

They influence RvR in different ways and will ever be.

They are not livelike to 1.69, only because someone(i don´t say names) likes them, thats the only thing why they are still on Uthgard.

I would say they don´t fit in Uthgard´s Vision - Uthgard loves timesinks.

That's what we do. And i have no class with speed for RvR. But one times, i was killing a mob in a RvR zone, a spirit master came on a horse. I NS him, and he was not dismount. Spiritmaster AND pet had a speed that they shouldn' have. Encounter was harder to handle due to this custom change.
It gives a real advantage, i deal with it, but it gives an advantage, it's a reality.

Mounts are not used for transportation they are used as speed exploit tools.
Literally EVERYONE at amg is on a mount, guess why. That is reason enough to remove them.

Or nice duos like reaver/merc + cleric with speed chasing down e.g. aug healer + zerker lol

that was the point that annoyed me the most at the last 2vs2 event. 2 classes without any speed chasing down 2 classes with yellow speed 'cause horses are faster... that sucks :D

unfortunatly topic titles are more important to staff than any argument. sad to see that we even need to call for removing a DR feature.

and yes the title isnt pretty clear, but didnt know the community of no mounts supporters grew that rapidly. maybe thats the best outcome of our glorious 2v2 event where a REAVER and a CLERIC won. And no there were not just stupid ppl attending at that event 8O

My horse saved me from getting farmed by a trio last night. :) His speed allowed me to outrun them from AMG to Dun Bolg allowing me to get safely inside. 8)

If you guys are going to take out the feature (of being able to use horse in RvR zones) in the future, please offer a refund to people who have the horses (Kind of like how Mythic offered full respec, when they did changes to classes). Maybe like a NPC where you can drop/trade the horse to and get an appropriate refund for the type of mount that you have.
I doubt anyone would have spent 15 plat and wasted time doing that horrible quest for the horse if all you could do with it was run around in PvE zones.
