And for your information I always played only midgard and I have no "intimate connection" to any enemy, I'm just albe to use my mind and understand that behind a toon there is someone like me who is here just for plaiyng and have fun.
And if my fight is added by a realm mates or by an enemy is the exaclty same thing: less fun for me because no more real challenge, both if I win or die.

News : fair play is not allowed.
Players who try to explain fair-play to others will be banned.

They can explain in forum but shouldn't stop other realm mates to fight enemies or even insult them for attacking enemies.

Don't understand why this is so hard to understand

The situation in RvR will not change for people, those who added before will still add, and those who didn't will not suddenly start adding.

What has changes is that people who feel their fight got ruined by someone adding, now don't have the option of venting their frustration at those who add. So we get a flame-free RvR environment.

And yes, this is a problem for newcomers to RvR. They move from BG's, where everybody does what they like 4 groups vs. 1, everything goes, and then to Emain where they failed to notice the sign listing the hundred rules, and the hundred exceptions to the rules. They then try to RvR, in that they attack enemies (what a crazy idea), but suddenly they get flamed by people they helped??? WTF?
Really strange these newcomers don't come back to Emain, and leave it to the crazies who have a rule-set scripted in their own minds.

Keep in mind that the regulars in Emain RvR, have toons/friends in all realms, while newcomers only see RED.


The whole "don't add!" mentality reminds me of the "mine mine!" craze that was on Live when you dared to even consider pulling a monster from a camp, someone thought they "owned".

The only bad thing about this rule, I can think of, is that we won't have any more SS of mental patients logging in another realm to flame who ever killed them (I remember fondly a VW being upset some Inf killed him ).

Cruell gave an explanation that seem coherent, but u have not the same talk. If a group is fighting another group, and a zerg come and kill the opponents without giving them any chance, do u really want to forbid player to say "please don't do that" ? It's awesome.
Not zerging players is just a common sense. What's the fun ?
Is it only a 8v8 exception ?
I mean if two players are fighting and a group zerg the solo, the realm-mate is not allowed to say anything ? U advocate to do a no-brain Rvr ?

Do you really think that zerg is only a no brain attitude ? Hey, player can play with more than a fg and still be fair and use their brain you know...

You can play the game however you like , but don't expect anyone else to obey your ideals on how the game is played.

If you don't like someone or something either post on forum or keep it to yourself.

pretty simple, being rude and petulant in game will result in a 4 hour ban.

I've told a lot of people to don't add in rvr in the last years and they always did what they want because obviously THEY CAN.
If someone feel hurt being called "adder" this one should just ask himself why. Being an adder is a fact, not an insult.

Just to be clear.. if we run with 8 ppl and have (what we call) a fair fight against an other grp of 8 and we get some adders, what can we do if we do not want to kill the first 8 with help of these other guys ? If we leave the fight we get sends like "I frapsed that, you will get banned!!!!" and if we ask them to stop destroying our fun we get also banned?? are we supposed to zerg the enemy grp even if we do not have fun just to do not risk a ban?...

But the rules as written does not forbid saying "pls don't add", that is a request, not an order. But "don't add" is an order not a suggestion.
Nothing forbids you to try'n explain why you prefer to handle your fights alone, but this is not the norm, the norm is people telling others how to play without bothering to explain it, and even less bothering to accept others might not want to RvR like you want.

One of the problems I think some might have with this, is that a large part of the established RvR community does one of the following:
1) Runs with solo spec (reaver solo RA's etc...), and thus are not able to really be a part of groups if the environment isn't suited for solo action.
2) Runs in cookie-cut groups, that are not able to cope with zergs, yes I know part of this is due to zergs being inherent more than a group, but guilds like Requiem should be able to handle 2-3 groups of medium RR/skill, but with a Light specced eld, they lack aoe damage.

I'm speculating, not putting out facts. But on Live our guild ran equipped to deal with zerg/groups/sieges and what might come, this did mean lower success with either of them, but higher overall success.
My Valk and SM also had a split solo/group spec, so I were free to solo and group, whatever was appropriate at the time.

Same is being a clown, it's a profession not an insult, but it's interpreted as an insult, just like adder is on Uthgard, and that's what counts.
Language evolves constantly, same with terms in games, and it's irrelevant if the term being used in theory isn't an insult, if the general consensus is that it's an insult.
