Relics should be locked during big events.

Agree with u, dont know how they can be proud about take relic while all others are in the event  2012:<@[Uth]Abydos> If we don't have SI by the end of the year, Im fairly certain I wont be a GM anymore :-p

the discussion on when to be proud of a relic raid is as old as the first relic raid in daoc.
The most successful raids are done when no enemy shows up, which is either at night time or during an event (big RL event or an ingame event). No one forced you to attend the event, you could have deffed the relics  Although i prefer normal prime time raids, because it is more of a challenge, i see nothing bad in a cheap shot. There is no such thing as honor nor things to be proud of in a war. If it was successful it was good period. Go take the relics back on x-mas or at new year... or get a life. And relics still bugged for mid also... who cares about 4% more dmg...  |

Would it make sense to lock relics during sleep? During Tajendi? Dragon raids? What about when SI comes out? Serving in an army in defense of one's homeland calls for sacrifices sometimes. |

If you give a silly answer, doesn't mean the point becomes silly itself. The point stay serious. Of course that relics cannot be locked during sleep time. Why? Simply, sleep time doesn't exist since the server is H24. The same can be said for the other things you said, because people take part and organize raids in complete free will and, at their own risk. The Christmas event is something we are all invited to by GMs and, even if it's not compulsory, it is always an event suggested by those who admin the server. This way the event became a trap for two realms and a good occasion for the third one. Next time, please, if you want to draw miles away people from their usual places, state clearly at the beginning of the event that official invitation doesn't mean that normal server dynamics don't occur during it  PS: i'm not writing because i miss something, since i'm still actually able to play very well without relics, as Patus for example (last victim) can confirm  On Uthgard 1.0:

I agree with you Abydos, you cant shut down aspects of the game for events. I know I suggested that, but I understand why you cant do it. Now, as far as comparing an event like the Xmas GM ran event to sleeping, taj raids, dragon raids, etc... I have to agree with Totenpfeil on this one. There is a world of difference between a realm doing a event on their own and deciding not to defend because of the event (for example Dragon Point raid on Sundays for Hib, or Taj2 raids) and the server wide event like the Xmas event. Those are 2 completely different things entirely.
Also, sorry to post on offtopic stuff. To get back on topic with the OP I hope these start happening more often. |

Why the hell is this thread about a relic raid? this had nothing to do with the propsed event Sahand would like to create, now stfu, gtfo and stop posting offtopic in every single thread there is on uthgard this is just ridiculus.
