So let me get this straight, the guy who started this thread is saying the reason that rangers are op'd is that a RR11+ and RR 8+ duo of rangers killed 4 RR5-6 infs and a RR5 Merc? If that is all it takes for a class to be nerfed then I guess Noir should be careful since I've seen him solo take out 4 ranger/shades at amg on several occasions (1 vs 4 if your keeping track their). The problems is that when you use the absolute highest RR players to determine a "op" class you are not really being fair. You have to look at the average player playing that class rather then the best players playing that class. Do I think SB's need nerfed, nope. However, according to the logic used by roflcoptor SB's should be nerf'd because i've seen him kill 4 ranger/ns's at a time. See, that logic is dumb. Noir is an exceptionally well played SB and is a very high RR, when going up against lower RR unskilled players he can do this, just like Ronia and whoever else killed these 5. It doesnt mean there is a flaw in the SB class.

On a side note, its not that I think the friar is op'd, its that if ranger is such an op class then how comes my ranger can almost never beat a friar? I will fight a reaver with purge up, same with a minstril, and with purge and ip up I can at least have a chance against any class in the game EXCEPT friar. Low RR friar's beat me and it makes no difference what RA's are up. The only time I beat a friar solo is if he is dumb enough to chase me when i kite them and that is very few. I guess my logic is that if a ranger is such an op'd class then I guees that class that gives my ranger the most problems would also have to be op'd. Oh, and the whole idea of "My friar can hardly get groups..." logic is dumb. My ranger can hardly get visi groups too, but for some reason that doesnt apply. Oh, and if you say that isnt' the same since your a stealther, then how comes Albs get minstril who is a stealther but has no problems getting a group?

Also, you have alot of guts calling out rangers when you play the most played stealther in the all the realms (344 4L2+ Infs and 316 RR4L2+ rangers) and you come from the realm with the most unfair advantages in the game. You get 3 stealthers to the other two realms 2. You get 2 stealther classes w/ climb walls and safe fall which comes in VERY handy on relic raids as i've seen lately. You have the theurg who is the easisest and quite possibly most op'd group RvR class in the game. You constantly have the most players on your realm because it is slightly favored towards albs and always had been in classic.

For a guy that doesnt like to point out the faults in his own realm you are really good at pointing out that all things that ranger gets, yet once again, you fail to point out that celict duel is the only one that other ranged stealtehr classes dont. CD styles are nice, but coming from an inf who can spam your lvl 50 anytime style those are some bold words. I agree that Friar is a very strong class (but not oped). Hitting like a warrior but faster for 200 to 250 (plus crits) is great damage in my opinion (vs 35% crush res)

Yes, I would agree that it is not a "OP" class, and to be honest I dont know if I would personally label any class "OP" and cry nerf. I'm just trying to make the point that if a ranger is so op'd how comes friar, who according to albs is not that powerful, kicks my butt all the time. Fact is that the rangers everyone complains about being op'd are very high RR players that play their class extremely well. PERIOD!!

sorry, i don't agree ... or, better, u are right BUT there are a lot of other things compared to live

1) on live, no rangers was spec PD just because, after PD was introduced as ra and was trainable for archers, was possibile to use Leggendary weapons ...
2) on live, there was a restyle on combat styles. All dual wielders get side stun ...
3) on live, WS mean something. So, after a str/con debuff, a ranger evade 3 debuffed (better if blade) get totally owned on evade rate from a stealther evade 7.
4) on live, WS mean something. So rangers get totally owned from parry/block skill of tanks (lol, here i see rangers easly kill mercs, or armsman ... just no sense)

... and i can say other things ...

They always be a solid class, on live too, but on this server they are OVER THE TOP for this incredible MIX of bugs (WS/2h damage), new ra's system (PD and rr5), old weaps (can't use legg. weapons), no buff bots (but this can be a good thing).

try to think at this on live:

ranger against inf

inf will use leggendary cold weapon = Bonus on armour no PD problem = HUGE DAMAGE
inf will keep debuffed Ranger WS all time resulting on DAMN HIGH EVADE RATE (remember all that new debuff is not str/con but is WS/CON)
inf, while spec'ing on dual wielding, will gain sude stun too (so no need go 50 thrust for gimp nerfed df)

... and this is just an exemple HOW SHOULD BE

this will result on FAIL for Rangers or success thx to IP and some lucky

... i 'am not saying that rangers can't kill assassins, but, really, on Uthgard all have no sense ...

Here, Rangers just take advantage of ALL THIS INCREDIBLE MIX of bugs, no sense ra's system/weapons rules, buffbotting not allowed,, good rr5 ra ...

result:
TOTALLY OVER THE TOP

remember:
rangers NEVER BE stealthers HUNTERS, NEVER BE ...


About Friars:
all ppl that think friars here are strong, for sure, never see a old friar system on live.
patches 1.6x / 1.7x
u have NO IDEA how was performing a friar compared to Uthgard.
really, no idea ^_^

the only class that, sometimes, was going to kill Friars 1on1 was chanpions (on my experience i was going to die 70% of times), thx to debuffs (remember all, champions are the only class able to debuff dex/qui and Friars damage is 100% dex based) resulting on huge cut on WS --> less evade, less damage ...

and we are talking of times where sb's was bugged (laxe doing around 2x dmg) and all was running with buff bots ...

just try to think how Friars should perform on this server where debuffs are not WS/CON but STR/CON, where is not allowed to use Buff bots etc. etc. ...

i'll try to search some old screen about my friar 1.6x damage against sb's/ns's/rangers, all buffed ...
so ppl will start to understand what mean: 2h damage is broken :wall:

ha funny to see how all rangers try to pretend they ve huge advantages :D friars are visible chars, so it doesnt matter if they are OP or not, since they are farmed all day long by 8man and will quit running solo atk-amg-wipe after a short time.

I played on GoA servers for years, and, before GoA, i played from day 1 of daoc on Deira.
your problem is just the total "NO EXPERIENCE" of a game and the fact that u want convince Admins that things,on Uthgard, are livelike (u scared of lose your OP over the top class that give u a lot of fun ....)

sure, he can, and u'll fight with bonus on infs (if we talking about Infs), but, on the other side, Infs will fight against u with COLD LEGG meaning something like:

dmg type BONUS (even if thrust spec) --> PD totally useless (no more 70 hits/swing like now)

FACT: on live, no rangers was spec'ing PD (if u ever played live) because ALL was using LEGGENDARY WEAPONS for fight with bonus on dmg.
And, again, if u ever played live, u know that PD was not introduced at Archers from day one ...
Was introduced after the QQ of Rangers/Hunters (don't talk about scouts :oops: ) because they was free rp's (patches 1.6x/1.7x).

On Uthgard, Rangars can fight ppl WITHOUT BONUS (we taking about Infs, normally spec'ed thrust for gain off stun evade), using a ra (PD) that cute down damage and with a huge bug on WS.

U don't think is a LITTLE different from live? lol

Dear Ronian, a rr6+ Armasman, on live, was going to tri-shot your little Ranger, expecially on patch 1.6x/1.7x before the nerf of the OFF PARRY style of polearms (don't remember the name).
i'am talking about 450/500 x swing, this screenshot damage (that u consider high) will just prove that u have no idea how things on real daoc go.


CONCLUSION:
i'am not interested, on explain ppl that never played DAoC what are things not working, point is another:

1) give leggendary weapons
2) fix WS
3) give side stun evade all dual wielders

... and stay with NEW RA

... or ...

change all, give OLD RA system and just fix WS

this is DAOC pre or post toa (and, repeat, this is a FACT).

that's why i say u are playing a char without any control, only with pros (ra's, side stuns, pd's, bugged ws, bugged 2h damage) and without any con (legg weapons, a real effect on WS after debuffs, chars that got side stun but here can't use etc.etc. )

u want say this is not correct?
