The realms are meant to be at war... have you ever heard of something like "let them kill our people, looks like a fair fight" in a war? ^^

And this is also the problem with the second rule, as soon as you look for a quite place to have your duel togehter with your enemy it is an arranged duel.

I know many of you like the sports idea in daoc, but the game isn't meant this way. And looking at the server rules this server isn't also. There are games like guildwars that have other policies. This is a game about war, for sure a game and no real war bla bla, but still a game about war.

This means red is dead, point. And you should fight the fights as they come, if you encounter an enemy in a place known for adds, you will have to fight him there.

I am not a friend of strict rules, and when players choose to make theyr own rules it is absolutely ok for me and i will follow every rule i feel has a sense. But you can't press everyone to follow this selfmade rules.

no1 is forcing anyone to follow these selfmade rules. People who prefer to have 8v8s and not adding ask others to respect this (some might not ask nicely but its not like "im gonna come hunt you down if you dont")
And on comparing this to war there is so many things different from this to war that it is simply not possible. Then again you say that you have to fight others in a place known to have adds? No one in their right mind would do this in either War or in daoc. If you know you are gonna be outnumbered it is wise in every aspect to fall back and wait for the numbers to even out if possible.

You are just interpreting.

This means red is dead, point. And you should fight the fights as they come, if you encounter an enemy in a place known for adds, you will have to fight him there.

You can't be serious ^^ So at war, if I see 1 ennemy while I know there are 5 others hiding in the same area I have to go suicide on them or I get banned ?
Would I be banned too because I run away from a fg when I'm solo ? ^^ RED IS DEAD, ATTACK !
I am assuming direct control.

come on, don't pretend you are stupid.

no one forces you to fight an enemy at a place, it is not forbidden to run away from an enemy to a safer spot and fight him there, with the mechanics the game offers.

I guess that is why we are also not forced to add, because we are not forced to fight enemys. I see no rule that forbid running away. But not add a fight, watch it while they kill your realmmates, and fight them afterwards is a grey area i would say. Could very well be considered cooperating with the enemy grp. Let's be happy it is handled the way it is.

Red is dead does not mean you have to attack when you don't want to, just don't cooperate with enemys.

But wave to your enemy, walk side by side with him, bow and make a duel. That simply is a duel and not a fight. And duels are forbidden.

To use the, agreed very wrong, comparison to real war again... you would for sure not fight an enemy in an area where you know hidden enemys would "add", but you would not walk to your enemy and say "hey let's go over there, shake hands and kill us then in a fair way"

No, it's not a grey area at all.

Everyone can fight whoever they want, and everyone can also NOT fight whoever they want.

I can run stickied to an enemy player for 7 hours if I want without attacking, and no one can forbid me that. I can also bow, wave and do everything I want before a fight with someone if I didn't arrange the duel out of game.

that is written nowhere and has never been stated by a GM as far as i have read.

So it is your interpretation, others might have other. The rule does not say arranged out of game or ingame. The realms are meant to be at war even sounds otherwise. But that is simply interpretation.

That is what i call a grey area.

What is not forbidden is allowed.

The "realm at war" rule is way too vague anyway, it can be interpreted in 10 different ways. The only clear point is that you can't organize rvr from outside the game.

sure, i never said it is forbidden. But i wouldn't complain if i get banned for it also. It is simply a grey area.

My interpretation of the rule is: maybe you are allowed to run sticked with an enemy for 7 hours and don't have to fight him. But if you run sticked with him to a safe spot and duel it would be forbidden. No matter if arranged out of game or ingame.
I have lots of rl friends playing here, we wouldn't need an arragement as soon as we meet each other, or would you consider it a arrangement 'cause we know each other?

Or if you encounter one of your realm during running sticked with the enemy and the two fight you should help your realmmate at least if he asks you to.

But that is just my interpretation, and yes the rule is very vague

For example one of my guild now playing in alb asked me for a duel with his pala. So we told each other we are in hadrians wall (no exact place), which is not forbidden as stated somewhere.
We finally met on the road to pennine and instantly engaged each other without going to a safer place a wave or bow, while we fought a hib came by, we instantly switched both on the hib and killed him and instantly continued our fight after the hib was dead. I see no rule violation in that.

for some of us, the game more than realm pride is to have fun

i also think in the other players on their computers having 2 hours playing to fight against 2x or 3x enemies, some of us respect solo players or small groups, i wont let pass any black adders alive

Ramboz, you doing vids to proove worse things... there is nothing worse than being unable to kill anything solo and grouping like you do.

"Evita yells about for a sb around, where ? where??"

Are YOU SERIOUS? where is the sb so you can what? kill him solo and show what a pround infi you are? and show that you can kill something alone? not really..

Conclusion: So imo the worst thing is when you can't play a daoc char properly, especially an assassin.
