I did that. . . MANY times xD, and still pwned, even got in to rr8-9 grps w/o problems.

You can just do DF rvr or go to the frontier dungeons for low RR enemies since there will be a greater influx of low RR 50s as well. I do agree that there should be at least one more bg till about 39 so that the leveling gap is smaller to 50 but I really don't think the differences between RR2 and RR4 is huge by any means.

But if the cap for the bgs is rather low on rps like rr2, I don't think it would make rvring that much harder initially. One good rr2 player instead of a mediocre rr4 player in a pug will not hurt the group much tbh. The RR gap (except maybe tanks with det) won't do a huge difference because you can't really get the huge fight changing RA's like BOF 3 or DI 3 or w/e. There are and will be more alternatives to emain 8v8 to get those initial rps and if you really want you can zerg.

100% Agreed. That 35-39 BG would be really welcome, though the currently announced layout isn't THAT bad either.

I guess we'll have to see how it pans out.

If you don't like the situation, great, that's fine, tell us why in a mature manner or just leave this thread alone dude, it's fckin annoying.

I'm sorry that logic and common sense arent part of your belief based ideology. Your ideas would make partial sense then.

And dont blame me for all the negativity, I didn't vote nor had a part of these questionable changes that are on their way.

I'd bet on exact same thing, this server needs more population in the frontiers, not the BG's.
I know alot of people who have a lvl 50 player for when there is sure action. and some BG char for when theres no action.
THUS! instead of moving around the frontiers looking for trouble they running in BGs looking for trouble. totally stupid and ruins it for every1 imo.

It's too bad they decided to reduce the BG-activity to push more player in the end-RvR. A friend and I (possibly some others too) playing only in the BGs, even though we have one or more lvl 50 chars. No Action in BG -> we log out or lvl another Twink for BG. Putting the BGs offside will reduce/neglect my motivation to log in and probably of those who play here for a similar reason. Of course its a matter of taste if you like to play BG/end-RVR and we can argue the whole day about it, same goes for the importance of distracting some BG-players who do not enrich the end-RvR. I just wanted to point out, that spoiling one side doesn't necessarily improve the other.

How does lowering the level range for BGs reduce your ability to play in the BGs in any way? In fact, Bgs become a lot more accessible earlier on, which is a big plus when there's no /rp off to stay in BGs.

The way staff has worked it out now, it just won't be possible anymore to play with a setting very similar to end RvR (regarding abilities) in BGs, which is a good thing imo. If you want to RvR with the max of your abilities, don't expect battlegrounds to be an option to do so. If you want BGs, feel free. Nothing is preventing you from it, not even with the new system.

Although the RR-caps are not known yet (so I think), I'm pretty sure that they will be very low since the highest BG ends, where atm the first really starts. You reach RR-cap in Braemar now in no-time. With the new changes you'll rush through the BGs in one day (RR-cap) and can start to lvl another char. No wilton/thid anymore where you could at least focus on your char a while and log the BG where the action is.

I understand the intention. But it's playstyle and attitude which make the BGs attractive, not the end-RvR-like-abilities. Every step against the BGs is not a step towards end-RvR, it's another sign for me that my favorised playstyle is not welcome here - or else there would'nt be that restrictions (no /rp off; removing wilton & thid; very low BGs only).

Thid used to have a cap at 1L5 iirc
i remember wanting to get MCL on most of my cahrs before going on so had to go kill 127 people in Thid because at that time you only got 1rp per kill :D
so you get plenty of days/weeks action on your char in the first BG's.

and as someone said before you also get to lvl a new char to BG faster!

I wish it would come this way, but i doubt it - the tendency was just too clear: put in mechanics to make it harder to stay in the BGs and force them to participate/entertain the end-RvR.

Well think of it this way instead of thinking were going backwards.

In daoc we didnt have any form of RvR but the frontiers. i used to run out with my armsman as lvl 29 and my cleric as lvl 36.

Then came Battlegrounds which was a kind of "Pitstop" in the lvl'ing progress where you could meet people your own lvl and fight them with small achievements. and people back then were greatfull for this.

In SI people started taking this abit more serious and did templates with DF drops and crafted stuff.

Removing higher end BGs makes absolutely no sense at all, has not been voted on by the players and is an extremely custom change implemented for the sole purpose to FORCE more people into a flawed OF RvR system.

The method of making something that in itself does not function well seem more desirable by removing the only alternative is one of the worst practices for a developer of anything (not only games) to use.

First Nymeros, don't spread bullshit, this IS NOT a custom change, it was like that on live ...

After here is my opinion :

Few times ago, people were whining about the thidranki camper, and BG chars, which clearely do not particapate to the RvR.

For me, here is the staff solution, to bring them to RvR.

I saw people screaming "QQ we will be 2L in Emain" .... dude ... Do you really think that you would inc 2L in Emain ?
I don't mind that the staff will put a 2L RR restriction at the last BG, that would probably be other something like 3L/3L5 maybe more ...

And so what ? being 3L at emain with OF RA will not be such a pain and atleast reach 5L is clearely fast ...

Here I really don't understand why you are complaining so heavely for that ... :x

If 40+ need to in OF to get some rps, that mean that 40+ could find some 40+ out and not only 50 group guild gankers ....

You just try to over-over-over-overlay the bad aspects without trying to see the good ones :/

I don't see any good aspects to this change no matter how much you call it bullshit.

We are implementing RAs that are flawed, outdated, have to be customized heavily just so they're on the level of imbalance NF RAs are right now, not to mention that they are UNTESTABLE.

We are implementing a patch note, that with OF RAs, renders a huger number of classes unplayable (hybrids, stealthers, VWs etc)

We are removing the only remaining place of casual RvR - the BGs, and forcing people to go somewhere they have to wait on port timers, have only one entrance to a zone and one hotspot.

I won't even get into the state of solo RvR again.

There is absolutely nothing positive in these changes unless you care only about achieving the "Classic" tag, instead about balance and game enjoyment.

These RAs are the ones which was available at the time and was not changed before TOA, so it has nothing to do with this server. they were rarely modified on those years they were available.

This was the patch pre Toa and didnt change before Toa.

These were the BGs at that point and never got touched before New frontiers. they worked then why on earth shouldnt they work now?

You seem very hooked on the newer patches, BGs, RAs. and it seems like a big issue for you. why dont you try the Eden server and return with comments once you tried ur precious things? :D
