Yeah, let's make Odins BOTH a solo and an 8v8 zone.

Solo can go HW... most solo fights are gonna be either near AMG/HMG or the route between them...

Grp fights tend to take up abit more room in a zone and so OG is abit better as it has better routes/less mob camps

Hadrians then.

And if odins is a solo zone, why are there still billions of stealthers hanging around at AMG, attacking everything that moves?

This is priceless, I can't even believe what I'm reading here :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I think we should have at least two more identical topics, because setting up a separate 8man zone is totally the issue.

Even if u would sett up an 8vs8 zone. After 4-5 wipes most of that "8vs8" Grps will go emain to get some easy RPs by farming randoms. Instead of getting farmed by good 8vs8 grps.

Why i believe that? Cause 95% of all grps here are adding fights so no real 8vs8 mentality here...rp/h > all (and yes that issue is supported by NF RA´s where high RR >> low RR)

Why do we need another Zarkor thread, where he can rant on anyone who does not agree to his agenda, calling them lazyminded or similar.

Reading all ur ideas and complains, I dont get it why you dont just suggest the return of NF and be done with it... I would even agree with that.

Not possible. Working on OF took a lot of time and therefore it has to stay on our classic server. That would be staff explanation.

8man's get called elitist jerks for wanting balanced fights :(

Not quite. A person who only wants to play 8v8 does not want balanced fights: he wants to win most of the time. Balance exists across several continuums: the number of players, their skill, group set-up, realm ranks and gear.

I agree that the ideal for many (though perhaps not all) 8v8 players is balance, the truth is that there are major imbalances in respects other than the number of players. Whether it's a 8v8 with a perfect group on one hand and a PUG on another or a 8v16, in each case it's imbalanced. Yet I hear more whining from 8v8ers about how they got zerged than about how "OMG we wiped another PUG :(". Both cases might be so imbalanced that it will be clear who wins from the start, with the only difference being who gets the easy win.

Without a stratified PvP system, there will always be imbalances in MMOs. DAoC doesn't have stratified PvP. /rpoff might achieve this, by letting those who want the casual playstyle stay in Thidranki and those who want to do 8v8 could stay in emain, but the distinction between those two kinds of players is really not that clear and I think that most players would enjoy 8v8 if they consistently had balanced fights -- which simply doesn't happen in emain --, so I don't think this would work. If we are to stratify people, it's at L50. Creating incentives for emain/odin/hadrian could create a "soft" kind of stratificiation, which IMO is the best for an MMO, but I'm not sure if this would actually work. I'm not L50 here so I don't have a clear understanding of the situation.

My main point, though, is that we all have to learn to all play in the same sandbox and if everyone did 8v8 in the sandbox, then there would be major imbalances.

there are, but all they do is add on fights and get killed by fg's...

but with the low frequency of the small man grps thats all they can really do.. not many fg's are gonna let a 4man live, just to be added on later by the same grp.

in emain yes on prime time ...............why u port there

8vs8 community is nice if u have one but it sucks for people that havent 8 nerds to be day for day there and to dont run if u havent it ....... makes rvr like oh i am a caster without bb ok dont move ..... to be ****** off joining a pug or random healer/class .....

btw neju u snake u joined alb too .......... i wish u to come back we rocked with bm/druid in agra on less spamming times .. why i should play bm more all people left.....

most talking people on forums are hibs that left..... koruun neju why u left ?

cuz there are only idiots i guess so really

Everyone wants to win most of the time. That doesn't mean they have to be an arse and outnumber their opponents 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and so on. Of course 8v8 is not perfectly balanced, but it's the closest thing there is. No competition is perfectly balanced because there will always be winners and there will always be losers (and there will always be sore losers).
