Because they see the population changes over the last 6 months. You must be ignorant if you just compare on a year-to-year basis and don't consider the momentum.

There are a lot of newcomers as you also can see in the forums and its quite certain that it got easier to set a feet on Uthgard than it was before (as Jezzmin already mentioned: Simplified how-to-connect, 1.113 support (80 clients with that version alone are already connected), Facebook button for better social advertising). Don't underestimate this. And for sure the RP bonus for keep takes made the endgame healthier for lower rank players.

I remebered 220 Albs were online and we were 126 in the RR bg. Dont know, if I have ever seen a 50%+ rvr quote. Good times for uthgard atm :D!

Ofc Blue, those changes might have bring some NEW players to Uthgard, but im sure u have a statistic about the longevity of players on Uthgard somewhere that u better dont publish ;) I was talking about people COMING BACK. And you must be ignorant if other than ingame features make people to come back or stay away.

People come back for different reasons. Being bored by other games, trying Uth again, hearing about more RvR activity lately. I think causes can be numerous.

Its the same as in GW2 with the keep upgrade stuff. You enjoy it until nightcapping annoys u to much. We stopped taking and upgrading "Rarenaris" because its just wasted money and bountypoints when enemys only come to take it at night. Kinda sad as when we claimed and upgraded it, it always provided alot of action for the whole realm.

Yes, unfortunately its now usual that ppl just take keeps without claiming or upgrade... Even if they claim they left it on L1 and claim just to know how many enemies are on keep. At first weeks i was often on KeepRaids if it was no emain action, but now its somehow no more intresting, cause most of time it come no enemies to defend and for 500rps its too much time to spend for a keep take ;) And i really dont know what the staff can do to make keepsraids/defense more attractive.

we saw: keepfights arise by themselves when there is enough reward to raid keeps, so attacker have a motivation. Deffer come on their own if enough attackers are there.

The problem is there is no reward or reason for upgrading a keep atm, so the reward for attacker stays low. The slightly increase in guard level per level of keep is really nothing.

Some solutions:
Long Term: The extra guards at relics were stronger? Did only spawn at all at a certain keep level?
Mid Term: More guards spawn at higher level.
Short Term: Guild (only guild!!) RP for claimed keeps, more RP per level of claimed keep.

All three solutions are classic livelike. But i guess no one knows how they were exactly implemented. And no way to research it any more.
But why not implement them in all conscience, it does only good.

Or custom solution:
XP and RP bonus near a claimed keep - so far even livelike - that increase with level.

I know we already have a bonus near a claimed keep, but the 3% is nothing that motivates anyone and it does not increase with level of keep. :wink:
