i personaly like of. and i dont think switching to agramon is solving the problem.
old ras might solve the problem since they were around 1.80 and should be implemented anyway.
or the admins could admit that this server is somewhat custom anyway and try balancing the realms out themselfs. just saying : we need life proof dont help since with the nf ras pre toa items it wont work out anyway.

and dont get me wrong i like the pre toa setup. thats why i want old ras =)

This has nothing to do with RAs.
They do need tweaking, buth thats another problem.

This has everything to do with map/realm/playstyle balance.

In the state we are now (of maps), a single guild (dg for example) can with their playstyle destroy every other playstyle and cause the whole endgame rvr map to be empty.
So 30 ppl can currently (and do) cause the other ~800 (of which barely a 100 participate in RvR) to not play, ruining their prefered playstyle and causing them to log a bg twink or go do something else.

To me this should not be permitted to happen.
Since we cannot prohibit them from zarging and ruining everyone elses fun, and acusing a lot of ppl to log, we can for example go back to our previouse more balanced map set (NF maps) because there zerging can be avoided and everyone gets their fair chance to play wathever playstyle suites them.

Because now, solo action is dead and cannot be brought back (we tried and failed), smallman action is partially possible at certain hours, which is not correct because I believe that all ppl should get a chance to play thair prefered playstyle no matter which timezone they belong to, 8vs8 is still possible, until some realm (or guild unfortunately, but because of realm inbalance) decides to run 4 fgs sticked, effectively destroying everyones fun and causing them to go elsewhere.
Finally zerging is possible, but the majority or ppl dont prefer playing that way, so those who do, do it at everyone elses expence, but dont have any opposition because of numerous realm imbalances which cause the majority of ppl to roll mid.

To sum it all up, the best option open to us is going back to NF maps.

Emain Macha is not the only map in the frontiers. If Emain is too zergy, go Odins, if that's too zergy, go hadrians.

I came here because this server was moving to OF, if it went back to NF I wouldn't stay. I hated NF, thought it was actually worse than TOA. The RAs are terrible, and unbalance in this setting to boot. The RR gap is retarded, and there are important abilities missing. The few things that NF got right, like determination to hybrids, and MoF could easily be added to an OF system, that would be leaps and bounds more balanced, with a much more fair RR gap.

I thought spreading out the rvr community is against server policy, so I don't even understand why they implemented HW and OG -__-

And telling people to go to another map is useless. I think most people remember what happened when teleport camps were removed from agramon... Suddenly no one knew the way to agramon, and soloers/smallman kept going to agramon wondering why they get rolled by fg's on their way there instead of trying to establish odins/emain/hadrians as a solo/smallman area.

ROFL.

Why is that a factor? What about all of us who were here before you?

It wasn't worse. NF RAs do need balancing, but to a much lesser degree then OF RAs.

Like what? And the RR gap is much wore with OF RAs, as has been demonstrated plenty of times here on the forums.

Nymeros how can u say OF RA gap is higher then NF RA s?.... u get same amount of augm mopains etc all for more points in of, mopain5 in NF is 39% , while in OF i dont think it pases 20% , plus all the good RA s have requirements wich prevent you from taking so many good RA s cause u gota spend like 30% of ur skil points for prereq.

Some ppl want it, because the gap between high rr and low rr will be smaller, i havent said its a good thing, i just wanted Nymeros to explain me how come OF ra s bring a higher gap between players then NF ones :)). cause thats what he said.

guys, just sit down for a sec and think about it...

what the heck another map will do? in agramon we like dg zerg? aha!
just get up your tiny butts and set another 4fg against them...this is not a game of proud and honour and blaallalalal its just realm vs realm, so if midgard act as one realm, it only forces other realms to act as ONE too, and for me, i like it very much

did exactly that the other day in rvr, there were zergs in emain, and we found 8v8 in odins.

In case you haven't noticed, so did enough people to cap the server daily. there's a reason for that.

Nymeros wrote:It wasn't worse. NF RAs do need balancing, but to a much lesser degree then OF RAs.

OF, with OF RAs was actually balanced.

How about all the different MoAs for start.

You don't know what you're talking about with the RR gap. NF gives a greater bonus to those who buy the highest level RAs, and then makes those RAs more expensive than OF. The RR gap is ridiculous in NF, compare an RR4-6 skald in NF to an RR11 one, or a high RR caster than can afford PD5 and purge and everything else they need. There is no comparison, in OF you could get all the game breaking, must have RAs at around RR6, in NF you need RR8+ to get everything. And then when you do, you've got 5 minute purges, 90 second charge, 50% melee resists, +30DPS damage adds, 40% ABS on a shorter timer than OF and for every realm, in fact everything is on shorter timers and the whole system was WoWed up giving all the realms access to each other's RAs.

One of the main problem here is the composition of groups.Zerk/BM/merc everywhere, because of CHARGE.Nothing to do against that caus no ML here.
One solution, while waiting old ra,could be easy to implement and resolve 2 problems.Give Bodyguard ability to heavy tanks (arms/hero/warrior) when they spec 50 shield. That way,we could have more defensive player, less uncontrolable zerging train (charge/sos) and save those 3 class.

You're high if you think the devs will give a toa ability to anyone. They won't even implement changes to make some of the hybrids actually viable in 8 mans.

I'm sincerely against zerging, as in outnumbering your enemie, but zerg vs zerg is nice though. But nore the hibs or albs make zergs unless for att/def relics, so next time we mids should consider about att relics and then just wait for those Albs & hibs to counter zerg us, instead of mindless running around in emain killing solo's in the meanwhile :s.

Doing several evenings/nights of that running around without inc made me a bit demoralized.

i say the 8men mentality is the reason alot players do not go into rvr, the complainings about attack or not attack are whorse than a quild that is doing things together. this game is realm vs realm... you dont like it, go play guildwars or counterstrike.
