Current State of RvR - Feedback to Devs

(Some what off topic)
As a casual player after hours its tough. Not much RVR, dragon raids are not heard of in my time zone. Population is around 180 to 220 or so after peak. While a respec stone cost increase maybe doable for Peak hours with high player count, Its not for after hours. On weekends, Emain has one on one spam, or small man/duo slamming into AMG over and over again. Keeps are taken but not as a fast rate as say peak hours. Most changes for peak hours not always applies very well to non-peak hours. Now I know nothing can be changed about after hour population, it is what it is. But It would be nice if there was a small consideration for low population hours. We cant expect every dev change to think about the other time slots but at least think about it on the major changes. I think my hope is that he consignment merchants will be fixed REALLY soon with a search-able NPC merchant. That would drive costs down allot I would think, which would make it a bit more affordable for the casual player in any time zone. (On topic-ish) I always had more action with NF then OF on low peak times no question. Currently I park out in Emain AMG and wait for someone, VERY boring. ![]() If I am lucky I can kill him/her, if not I pick up another bag of marshmallows and head out all the way back to amg. What you mean by "fixed"? Which bugs you refer there? Also, we dont forget our off-hour players. They are always considered in our plans. As a first measure we accepted two new GM's which are located in USA & Canada timezone. I dont want to say more as other things are just theoretical points yet. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
Every bug gets fixed. Sooner or later. "It is an inescapable law of nature that the amount of satisfaction one gains from achieving something is related to how hard it is and easy things can only elicit a fleeting superficial sort of pleasure." Blue says, "you used macro tools or macro keyboard" Pala says, "i am disabled. and i have a mechanic left hand that can be programed. its hard to play woith one hand" [Appeal] Bxxxxxxxx: "why is RA first aid cann man i stealth use and not unstealth cann man ra if man use unstealth ?????????" BannedUser: "i was not using automate game action my hand was fall on keyboard during i was sleep .... i was completly fall on keyboard ..." |

Are you adding xp bonuses + mobs to BG's?? That'd sure make off-hour DAoC fun. :] |

Funny - people just don't know after 2 days, that the Market Explorer is ingame now. ^^
Announce it big, guys - this is really a _great_ advantage for SC'ing etc. - good job! |

Seriously it is? Damn didn't notice. Will check it out later. I already wondered why people buy something from my house - they usually never find it =). That's good news.

I powered through the entire thread at once, taking more than an hour to read the majority of it.
The points seemed could be summarized below: 1) Buff pots favor those with more time 2) Currently, Hibs have hardest time getting to hotspot (Emain) 3) There is little to no incentive to play frontiers other than Hib's 4) There is little to no reason to take keeps for the majority of RvRers Nixian, I am curious if moderators have had much discussion regarding #2. If you have time, I'm curious on your opinion on the other issues, too. In my brief time playing here, I've noticed many players feel entitlement towards the server. Unless you are paying, how can you complain that the admins aren't doing enough? Yes, it is frustrated to see long-standing issues unresolved, but the server is free, and the admins are not paid. |

Moderators don't really have special discussions?

Here my opinion.
1) Buff pots favor those with more time Buff pot are not annoying for casual. Item buff charve are annoying, hard to drop, hard to keep charged. 2) Currently, Hibs have hardest time getting to hotspot (Emain) Truely not. I'm playing hib, on a known solo char, which make the route quite easily without self speed, and tbh i don't have any problem. 3) There is little to no incentive to play frontiers other than Hib's False. Just by looking how much people only go on MID/ALB RvR zone, and also after some try, you can have decent RvR there. True story. 4) There is little to no reason to take keeps for the majority of RvRers Here I would agree. Take DF or farm some guard are not enough. Better reward should help. But I would regreat that some people could reach HRR with such a lam way. |

Artefact,
Here is my perspective: To be able to afford buff pots, you must farm--I have done the math, even at the best rates. Farming is work, and not fun for me. Since we play a game that encourages fun, I would think there should be another way to deal with the issue that makes it fun. You may deny me and say, "you can't have things handed to you" but do realize: In the end of the day, most people hate farming, and many won't go out solo because they don't want to pay the price for the buffs and thus RvR suffers for everyone. However, that is my opinion and if no one else feels that way, I don't mind being the only person without pots ^^ Evidence seems to indicate otherwise |

You need at least ~1p to firstly buy all you needed barrels.
Then by rvring and doing guardtask if really neede, you can keep gaining enought money to rebuy without farming... so hard... |
|
I actually agree with Artefact on this one. Yah, the cost is kind of expensive on these barrels, but I usually make enough in RvR to make up I would guess 80% of my barrel cost. I strongly recommend people to make an alchemist as well to avoid the high markup on these barrels. It only take about 1p to get an alchemist up to 700+ in alchemy and w/ that lvl you can make all the buff barrels that are for sale. I found that the markup I would have spent buying 5 barrels paid for me to be able to lvl my own alchemist. Now in saying all this, I will admit that making those barrels does suck. It eats up alot of time, but as far as cost is concerned, when your making your own their really not that bad. |

Delete the current horsemerchs for Hibs/Albs/Mids.
Hib have to ride/move to Emain Macha for action. ( not speaking of horse campers) In Albion/Midgard Hibs have to move to next or last zone with border keep to find incs. Give the enemy realms without borderkeeps horseroutes to Breifine/Jamtland/Pennine. So the fights can more concentrate in the middle of the realm rvr zones. It cant be that the home realms have to move over 2 zones to find enemy grps and the enemies can stand in startzone after port. <Riot Control> Albion

Right now the state of RvR while EU primetime is getting more and more like it felt in the old days of DAoC (always considering there´s no 3k people on Uthgard).
I`ve had some relaxed bang on enemies keeps in OG/HW and there´s guilds roaming, nice fights even without adding. There´s zergs and kinda "fast food" fights out in the hibernian frontiers so I guess while we did around 10k/h raiding keeps in OG/HW you´ll get better RP/h in Emain. One thing I´m kinda missing is the low level/RR zergs adding, leeching and even dying by themselves, hehe. At present I got no idea about the current solo RvR, guess it´s still a pain in the ass ... One last word about buff pots: The problem on all this buff/charge madness is that many people started on that server knowing that there´s a strictly followed NO BUFFBOTS ruleset ... does it really make sense to ban people using buffbots while xping and in the end you get your "buffbot" by pots/charges. Hope the staff will bring up a solution in that case since it´s really retarded. Keep on keeping on! Satas Hakx - various artists

I am 40.5 now on my SB and will be closing in on the RR cap soon so would like to know if this will be fixed anytime soon if it is a bug so I will know to lvl some in PVE now and so I can stay longer in the BGs for xp. I was at 2L1 on my SB around 30-31 so I stopped to xp in pve so I could enjoy some pvp at lvl35 there and when I hit 2L2 my next death ported me out instead of allowing me to stay and get xp. If you reach cap you no longer get RPs anyways so why does it boot you when you stay for xp? |
|
Because we have implemented the /xp off command. We do not want players to be able to stay in the BGs forever which would be possible if players were not kicked when reaching the RP cap.
