I dunno, I'd rather RvR/sidecare with a couple less than optimal groups and die to a high RR easy mode group than not RvR at all.

I think it is admirable in Hib that all are welcome in RvR with certain guilds. As long as there is a bard that can provide speed we'll group you up.

Are you going to die to high RR players every now and then? Sure...but you win sometimes too..and you get RPs for keep takes and defense..and you protect relics...and you get relics....and you *GASP* actually play the game. No one wants to "die" but jebus, it's just a game.

The more I think about it, the OP question is pretty stupid. I'm guessing in terms of RPs fed to mids, more come from the higher RR 8v8 guilds that play all the time and win maybe 30% of the time than 12 people in a pug that run a couple hours at night and win 20% of the time.

It's pretty simple...

Playing mid makes it easier to pug and still have decent groups and more forgiving setups ( like tank groups ) so people that played mid don't usually change realms since it's easy to find groups.

When you play alb you're always missing a key class or have to run sub optimal setups because that is what you have.

Let's not be obtuse...your "question" was pretty loaded and although dressed up as a "question" it was really a critical commentary. I will walk back the "stupid question" comment because the "question" part of it was really just camouflage of the real intent of the OP.

Sometimes I get baffled people actually even think like this, "oh no if we die the enemies get rps"

How many fights do you miss out of by thinking like this? I am probably one of the biggest rp donators in EU primetime. I run in a suboptimal setup, on a class that dont see much action in 8v8. And with people who focus more on fun than results, if i were to start thinking about not to "feed" i would kill 90% of my incs each evening

Plus playing a closerquaters caster in a hard-rupt eviroment and all that jass. And I honestly couldnt care less about what rps my enemies are feasting on from killing me. I want the fights, the freebies, the even, and the impossible. (one day, kiico group! one day!!1 ) After all its in defeat you have the most to learn.

With that being said, when zergs form on daily basic and contain 50+- players, it buggles me how none of those 50players see eachother time and time again in the BGs and not a single one of them bothers to ask around of any of the other "core classes" want to roll out. Just sounds like an excuse instead of admitting the BG playstyle is prefered because organizing and building a group is too much hazzle.

I would actually believe this, if not for Albion being underdog most of the time since launch.
It would be really strange if Albion just atracted people who mainly wants to run BG's, it must be something more than that. And I think it lies in how hard it is to be good at the core classes, and how badly a group performs if they are not played well.

On top of that, necroes and how leveling works in Albion just makes it worse.

This. Which is why I moved to Mid. I would rather play and lose than sit in FS all day waiting for the optimal class/player to log in. Mid is just more flexible in terms of comps. You can be non-optimal and still be competitive. Alb has little flexibility, and Hib is somewhere in the middle. That flexibility translates to more overall rps. But doesn't mean they are the "Best realm" at the patch level. Honestly I continue to say, the three realms are the most balanced at this patch (maybe into SI) than any other point in the game. GIVEN that all 3 realms have completely different classes and abilities. Which is why DAOC is unique. Anyone can make a WoW clone and make it "fair" across all realms/races.

Sounds to me like you don’t want hib to actually fight back. Alb zerged behind Splitquick every night for months in numbers far beyond anything we could get. The only way we could fight back is by zerging bigger. Now, this is how we play. We give people who don’t 8 man a chance to actually get rps and have a great time. If that is inappropriate in your eyes, you don’t have to join. Go play on another realm if how we do it offends you.
