sounds like a real PUG, always the same guys getting better and better 1 random on such an unimportant position does not make you a PUG
Yeah sounds like a common wrong definition of "PUG" around Uthgard players Most of them doesnt know what "pug" mean

I find it funny how people keep talking about 'skill' and 'rr', but at no point is the meta mentioned.
After I came back into group rvr, from a long healer-solo-hiatus it seems more apparent than ever. There are still a lot of 'broken' characters and abilities that have a massive impact to the group-scene. It really is more important than 'high rr' and 'skill'.
A high rr group can be countered easily by using these 'broken' characters and abilities. As long as you have the basic fundamentals on your own groups characters (average maybe r5l5), then there is no real reasons why your group should not be able to walk over the high rr group in most of your encounters.
To illustrate it. The group I have been playing with have not been very co-ordinated when it comes to specs, and ra's, or even setup we run. It is mainly, do whatever you want, as long as we have eight people to fill the group. This is rather obvious to notice considering we often run with two r11+ healers, but we do not run double bof, nor do we even run with bof3. There is also the fact that not all the characters have, what people would call, a proper template that cap out all the basics. Because of this we can be hard countered by certain setups, and it have happened where we fight something that is considerably lower rr than we are, but because of the setup we ran we had virtually zero chance of winning a clean fight against them.

Yeah we running mostly with only Gimps in grp ( see Shaddap for example ! xD ) There is no point that low RR Groups cant do RVR here, if these ppl play well together they can beat much higher grps to, even without Broken Chars or abusing some other things! At this moment ofc High RR Grps can drop tons of RAs like every 5/10 minutes, later its only 30 Minutes so lets see whos is the Winning Grp then so long! Blood for THE REALM

well... then its your grps fault and could be avoided if you were more ambitious in 8vs8? No offense, just i don't see the problem. If you want to play just for fun, like we do, you can not expect to win against every grp. If you want to rule in 8vs8 you have to be serious about it. For sure a serious low rr grp can spank a casual high rr grp... that is out of question (we notice that every day ).

[quote="Brenz"]We are mostly running on Sunday/Tuesday/Wednesday with a 8 men group, and sometimes we try to run with more than 8 to try our chance against high RR (even though it hasn't proved really efficient till now).quote] . . .what time zone is this? US night rvr could always use more bodies.

This Played rr11 Bard lately and i m for sure worse than our current one with rr4-5. Droped SoS2 AM2 MoC3 if needed, fights were a lot easier So telling ppl there is no difference if you are just "skilled" enough is bullshit. Ppl tend to loose their memory how they gained their RR (and yes I added till RR7 haha, thats a legit way to gain it if you ask me afterwards all ppl who flamed you before will invite you anyway since they know how important rr is and will always prefere you over a none adding but stucked till eternity random rr4 char) Prime had a RR9 Healer when they were running in emain, making things so much easier. Especially as a caster grp with bof3/di3. And they entered emain with like rr5 as well farmed the first few ranks in odins. So you see even as a SET grp it is hard to compete in emain right from start. As a PuG there is no way to be competitive vs other grps. Since the other grps improved during the last 1-2 years a lot. No offense to grps 2years and more ago

KT was good, no question, but there have been better grps that quit. Guess KT would just be one of many good grps today, as the level increased a lot in the last 3 years. On the other hand Black adder or may not ride the rollercoaster (just examples) would still rule, i don't think the level increased so much in the last 1.5 years.

Exactly, that's why we need a "rps degradation" like taj items! wipe all rps, would be fun
