And how many warnings should people get? Some of the people involved has been involved in situations like this before. We have to draw the line at some point. And when we see 5-6 people of various realms standing around in a circle doing duels and we get several /appeals regarding it we have to react.

Well, for those that didnt participate in the "duels" maybe at least one warning? I got banned for staying to watch a 1v1 at amg while regen health without EVER having a single warning about anything during my stay on Uthgard. Is that really fair then? |

If you see stuff like this (even if there is no rezzers), move on. It is that simple, do not try to make up special scenarios or funny sentences. This is what was meant by my comment. The fact is that most people ask for rezzer in broadcast when they die at amg. And afaik arranging fights/duels and sitting next to each other was always forbidden on live, as you see in the german friday-news (18.08.2006): "Es ist nicht erlaubt, organisierte Duelle zwischen verschiedenen Reichen abzusprechen, um damit auf einfache, kontrollierte Art und Weise Reichspunkte zu verdienen (RP Farming). " google-translation: "It is not allowed to deny organized duels between different realms, in order to earn an easy, controlled way Realm Points (RP Farming)." In my opinion it was ok on live, to watch a fight, and then go on , seeking for the next own fight. But afaik it was always forbidden to sit at a duel spot (at least on the german server) |

I really don't get, what all this is about...
-> there is NO rule that forces players to attack realm enemies as long as this sentence remains true, "watching" duels cannot be punished in any way... if the staff sees some ppl gathering and watchin a 1on1, the staff has to remain there for a while and see what happens...if there's some hidden resser or ppl keep coming again and again after dying, that's rp-farming indeed...if ppl are just waiting for the duel + health reg to be done and watch the next fight, that's just fine without ever violating any rule at all... the staff really needs to be more patient and watch scenes as mentiond before longer to really see what happens there instead of just thinking "omg hibs, albs and mids, watching a duel -> ban ban ban!" (no offense!) there is, for example, players i never attack, because i know i have no chance against them - just as there is players i don't attack because i know it would be sort of unfair (ever tried running after a caba that diseased u, while his pet is on u?)...these players do the same to me...also adding 1on1 fights is something i never do (except for some "famous" zerg-players or adders)...this just can't be bannable... |

Just wanted to make clear that at 1.69 and 1.80 and current live, you are allowed to have massive duels between the three realms, sitting around with tons of bots/support rezzing everyone up.
Just to be clear. There was a time early on when mythic was not allowing duels (though never anything along the lines of what we see here) but that ended very quickly. |

Ok all this comments are not accurate trishin especially from you . What happent last day in amg wasn't arranged duels or anything like it.
4 albs vs 1 mid in the start (divinarchangel). we gave him a chance to fight 1v1 1 of our grp . and if you say that rps abusing ... it would be realy childish task to kill the warrior 4v1. Out of respect eternas gave him a fair fight 1v1. In the middle of the fight some albs passing amg stoped to see the fight . a mid troll inc it was then like 7albs vs 2 mids now . The troll scald bowed to me so other albs didn't attacked him . so we started fighting 1v1 . When i was like 50% 3 mids came to amg and added then all albs fight em but didn't interfere with my fight with the troll and eternas with divin that was still fighting. i got 1 scald add that i killed . The troll scald sited to gain full hp as i did cause of the add of the other scald.(note troll gave to me a fair fight since when the scald added he pulled back). and then we started fighting again. Ok all this time albs had 2:1 advantage in numbers . Add out of respect to enemy gave them fair chance to gain rps out of 1v1. And sorry if we like more to have a fair 1v1 and even loose especially from a good enemy player than to zerc in a non prime time soloers. All this was a matter of 5 mins and not more and some albs was there in the scene maybe for some secs not even a minute. I say again i don't have a problem with the ban . Still saying that it was arranged duels or crap like this and posting screen shot that was from an other scene have nothing to do with what went down in amg. And all this happen to have more fun cause sorry if i don't find it fun to gankbang a enemy and find more Fun to give him a fair 1v1. And i think that the rest of the players that was there was having fun even if they didn't get any rps. I love to watch a good fair Fight and i love to have nice 1v1 . And all that people that runs not in prime time do that. I know you want to avoid duel zones and something like that . But fair fights can happen in game and respect to the enemy is something that can not be dictated . Lets close the matter please . And trishin sorry but i think you misunderstand many thinks about what happen to amg last day. this ban is just usefull as an excuse for all adders now. that is rly crap! everyone can decide who and when to attack!

Yeah and that's exactly what we don't wanna see here. Guarding each other for 1vs1 is not the spirit of the game and destroys the fun for more people than you can imagine. 1vs1 players are maybe 30 people at max, having an eye of each others for all those random noob adders, who would just get farmed by your RR8+ 1vs1 zerg at amg. Yes it is in the spirit of the game. And who's "we", rofl? You and the DAoC gods? Who are you to force a definition about the spirit of the game to anyone else? The spirit of this game is whatever we, the players make it to be, whether that is 8v8, zerging, 1v1, adding, or not adding. I don't care about the fun of you and your kind. I want to destroy your fun. That's my fun. That's MY spirit of the game. I agree, but the problem here is the gray zone that bans like this create. And also, broadcasting a warning is much faster and more effective then warning people 1 by 1. I understand, but frankly - who cares if you get appeals? I'm pretty sure that every day people who know nothing about this game appeal all sorts of stupid stuff that SHOULDN'T be appealed. Standing around in a circle was never forbidden, and it can't be forbidden to do so. Without a rezzer, 5 people standing in a circle means excatly 4 fights, and that's if and only IF: - no one adds - no one zergs (this being AMG lol) - no one simply goes away Not adding enemies was NEVER forbidden, just as cooperating with enemies (via adding or anything else) wasn't. You simply can't ban people for just standing around and not adding, and as far as I see that's all that has happened here. All the "you can add everyone" philosophy that the staff (and even the ingame loading hints) always promotes goes both ways. You can also NOT ADD anyone.
It was NEVER forbidden to sit anywhere, on ANY server. RP farming is totally different then simply standing around and dueling, especially in Old Frontiers where you have port ceremonies and run times. When duels are not arranged by out-of-game means, they are a normal RvR occurrence and have never and will never be banned. If two people went of to Hadrians or some other out of the way frontier and killed each other and only each other 17 times in an hour, there could be reasonable doubt and actions could be taken. But this is AMG - primetime RvR spot, people go there all the time anyway, and all these guys are guilty of is NOT ADDING. This has never, and I repeat - never been a bannable offense. That was made clear by the staff before, even in Odins and this new behavior is a deviation that should be stopped. |

Wow.. I guess you'll now get added constantly by everyone who reads this and is not a soloer. Thats a very egocentrical way of playing a game and can only end in one group destroying the fun of others and thus making them leave. I believe it will not be the FGs who will leave. edit: seems I got this a bit wrong. apparently it wasnt about soloers vs groupers.
You know.. the lore tells us that it is a war between three realms who absolutely hate each other and dont even speak the others language. I have never seen a war where two armies approach each other, then stop and make out who fights who. btw I am really against banning those who only watch the fights. It's me and the majority of players who are already pushed out of emain and into DF / BG's by all those 8vs8 1vs1 flamers, who will not help a rr4 grp vs a rr10 grp. But anyway even this forum is already claimed by those hence I take a break from this forum.
