Well, what can i say, i sometimes lag aswell even though my PC and my connection are more then sufficient to play DaoC. Ofc there are ppl that abuse this, but it is impossible to tell if this is intentional or not ( though for some players i am pretty sure that it is intentional *greetings to a certain friar that loves to warp out of the windows at AMG and then heal himself up when you followed the lagshadow*)

the situation where you slam a target and it keeps running away out of hit range and then warps back happens really frequently, like every 6th slam.
But that is not such a problem if you know the behaviour. You can follow the target, keep hitting it 1 or 2 times and go back to the spot where you slamed it in time so you don't miss a hit.
More of a problem if your assist train is on the target, since the others can't have such an accurate feeling for the timings as the slamer himself. i sometimes yell in ts "target slamed will warp back soon", dunno if that ever helped though. ^^

And a easy way to produce lagruns is just a quick intervall of run 1-2 steps and facing a target, run 1-2 steps and face... for the others you will lag away from time to time. But that has been the same on live servers as long as i played there.

Some would call that skill, just as strafing... i don't do it on purpose but got so used to it i couldn't even stop it if i wanted to.

jeah when you only have to use anytimers like most mids do then its no problem but i can say playing a merc that cant make efficient use of positionals at lag runners deals half of dmg he could...and btw even if you follow the target and keep hitting it you will have to run back to the point where the enemy got slamed and so u miss another 2-3 sec...well u actually miss melee range to your target and he can easily kite you now if he doesnt have snare effects on him.. so imo its better to wait at the slam point and hope for a short abuse/lag...

EDIT1: all abusers have small weeeeeeners

EDIT2: and they suck at playing dark age

As a bersi I also have problems with my 3-style backchain. It seldomly comes to the final style, because of that issue. Its different for most albs who just have to spam levi levi levi :gaga:

as you can see in my vids i either wait at the slam spot or chase the lagging player for one more backstyle hit and go back. Sure you often loose 1 hit, but i don't think players can do that lag run when they get slamed on purpose. It's just server lag and we have to deal with it.

I believe some people do it by purpose, yes.
But if you pull a mob in pve , kite it till it returns, then use any type of stun and see what the mobs does :p The mob will lag off like most enemys in rvr ;) At least for me ...

i do this to people when i play shaman constantly. i have no way to avoid it because i lag pretty much constantly to uthgard now. i can barely stay in stick with a group. i pretty much dont play anymore because of it. it may seem like lags like this are coming from a certain person intentionally and to gain an advantage, but it is just as likely he lag like this a lot and it hurts his performance more than gain an advantage.

at least uthgard doesnt have hills that are 'too steep to climb', the ultimate abuse of the intentional lag is making an AT follow you off one of those...then you warp back and they can't get up.

I've experienced this as well while playing RvR. I have a good internet connection and my computer is just fine, but I will have huge lag spikes while playing both PvE and RvR. I think it is mainly the server, but I do know that some players out there intentionally lag, which makes playing not fun at all.

I found a bug with strafing which even exists on live. Even if you strafe without changing directions you will lag a bit. I guess its some wrong calculation.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
Every bug gets fixed. Sooner or later.
