All classes are fun in my opinion.

cleric, druid or healer.

Vamp, I would trade all my hib characters just to play 1 vamp.

my favorite for solo rvr is the minstrel (atleast on uthgard) speed,much utility,pets,nice ra's,stealth
for 8v8 i love the drood, which is the most challenging class in the game imo. (requires much more skill than playing a pac healer successful)
Bard's are awesome on live servers now ( because they have root) , they suck on uthgard and if you ever played sorc you'll never be satisfied with a bard on classic setting.

just my 2 cents everyone has the right to have his own dumb opinion.
I have no respect for charge tanks/offensive slam tanks and pure DD casters.

It's not only root it's also phaseshift, zephyr, spec af and being able to play 2 songs and the awesome look of phoebuis that you'll miss But since there are no morphs/mezzshields etc you get used to it and it's a good trade imo.

Sorc might truely be more fun in classic setting, but not if you heart beats for Hibernia

As solo : matter sorc

for group play: eldritch. quite fun playing a class where if you do your job well it greatly increases your groups chances of winning!

for solo: THANE!! i've fell in love with thanes since I started levelling mine. fantastic solo character in classic setting! there isnt one class i dont feel comfortable fighting when playing pastah.

I only play in alb so i can only speak for alb chars. There my favourite is absolute clear:
Minstrel

In my eyes its the most flexible char in daoc, cause:

- one of strongest solo chars: highest speed, so not only emain amg/mmg is ur arena, u can also fast switch to brief/crau or uppland if ur bored of green emain or no inc for u there; can be played as full stealther, medium stealther ( 25 + rr), or without stealth; can use pets; can climb for killing tasker inside keeps or fast doing ur own tasks, every enemie class is killable (!), nice ras

- very good small team char: highest speed, nice single mezz, nice ras

- good grp char, with old ras maybe very good grp char: highest speed, sos, good rupter

the highest ive gotten a non alb char is 25 so i cannot speak for neither mid nor hib.

But when it comes to Alb i actually prefer two classes.

Paladin - Mostly nostalgic I guess, always played a palyy kind of char in every damn mmorpg and rpg ive played, from UO to WoW and everything inbetween.
Theurgist - I like the versatility of it mostly.

thuerg, MA det tank, druid, aug heal, shaman, DPS caster, in that order.

who would have guessed... my favorite class was since first days of beta and still is the warrior.

but in the actual uthgard surrounding it is specially appealing. With the NF RA's as barricade, testudo and DD but without TOA MLs as body guard.
Both old ra's and bodyguard made warrior too easy or at least different to play.
