I do have one fear though, if you make a port for hibs , it will make the rvr zone smaller, which may be good at some points during the day, but pretty aweful in zerg nights :p

To fill in emain, and I agree with zaszeadora on this one...

We have to make emain suitable for casual players... as to how... no idea

in my opinion, when introducing this system there is a big sense in leaving emain if its overpopulated and try ur luck in another zone cause its not only emain that got its area reduced and so will attract one more realm per area more, the realm which the area belongs to.

Good idea, but in my opinion these keeps should be claimable and with port posibility if your realm has this keep.

I dont think, that instant porter increases the rvr population in the mainzones.

But i think the groups will stay a longer time in this zones because of faster port.
They wont lose much time after a wipe or rebuild. Thats will be a big advantage.
So it would be a nice gimmick.

I meet many people that left high end rvr cause of that , not a server problem its a player problem.

what the man said ! +1.

and i vote for bg's cut, it was a great idea of the stuff.

If it's faster to reach RvR zone, you don't loose so many times on forming group (waiting for the guy who miss the port, then waiting for the one who is still afk after the port etc...), So i think it would be an advantage for people who just want to spend few hours in game and don't wanna lost so many time in forming a group/reaching rvr area.

+1 on this idea.

Well I think the problem is just why all players go RvR in Emain. Zones like Hadrian's Wall, Odin's Gate, Snowdonia, Jamtland ecc ecc are used just for DF take and relic. Maybe some solo do their guard quest for rps there, but I don't see many grps that decide to roam in Hadrian's Wall for exemple. We got and IRC channel, we should organize grp there to not take zerg.

Indeed, Gris is right. The port timer makes ppl play the game for sure win. That means they prefer zerg than 8vs8 or making stealth groups which is nonsence in my eyes. Stealthers were made as a toons for solo playing. Anyway back to port. The long timer is pretty annoying if you want to play small group, solo or if there are only 2 fgs to fight. I understand that GMs wont make an I50 gamestyle from UTHGARD, but for this population is port timer not a solution. My idea is to allow anytime port in claimed keeps and leave the port timer for porting in other zone. So if midgard would own Dun Crauch, they could port anytime in emain. If they lose it and it ll be the only midgard keep in emain, they would have to w8 for port. Same for other realms. This could improve raiding/defending fights. I would also like to c some 1vs1 / 2vs2/ 3vs3, CTF, or some PVE event in xrealm zone (smt like which realm kills mob first)... events. Server without events is boring and dont tell me its so hard to make one event like this a week. You dont have to give big rewards, some DF item TOKENS, RESPECS, or WEAPON GLOWS could be enough i think, but its up on GMs. All these ideas arent from my head, i just loved it when i played EDEN, thats all.
Thank you for reading.
With regards

From my point of view i can say that i like rvr in emain, but i wont play it, as long as i have to wait for a port.

the current rvr situation is not a player problem, it's a server implementation problem

There is nothing at lvl 50 rvr that can be called casual rvr. The closest thing is guard tasks really. There must be something done to increase interest in taking keeps, which are SUPPOSED to be the main points of interest in the frontiers. There needs to be higher rewards for taking keeps, and rewards for DEFENDING them as well. Simple as that. A frontier dungeon with nice rewards would also be nice because it would bring more of the PVErs (huge population) into RVR zones (low population).

RVR currently is just a one trick pony. It only consists of one zone demanding 8v8. If you play casually, then there is nothing really to do because pugging in emain requires specific classes playing together well. On live, you can just group with random people and go zerg some keeps and what not, and still make realm points.

On live during OF, there was simply MUCH MORE players, and therefore MUCH MORE demand to take keeps in order to secure DF or help with the relic situation. I still think there could have been improvements of course but the high populations promoted zerging and more interaction with keeps, much more than uthgard has.

I really doubt anything will happen though. The staff has very little interest in the rvr's populations opinions.
