I admire Laya and Celad for playing honorable 1v1 in Odins even though their enemies have every advantage.
I had an NS with 10% HP evade me 6 times in a row. That's always fun. ![]() Laya, you should practice the run-through stun. I agree that it is lame, but Rangers and assassins all strafe like mad here. Rangers strafe-stun, assassins DoT-spam. You have to fight back.

I agree Mini |

Yes i know, i always been evaded a lot, but no as much as last week. As i wrote, maybe is just unluck. ![]() |

Wow, that's a lot of hotbar clicking, no panning, no kiting, no attempt at positionals, no positioning the pet behind opponent (back up), no RAs used, no pot charges used in fight, no buff pots used before fight it appeared, no charged items used during fight, no charged buffs used before fight it appears, no class timered abilities used...
in short, learn to play, play to win. but respect for playing a hunter nonetheless, that's not the most stress free of classes to rvr on to say the least. And also, with defense penetration just simply not implemented here, melee against a high evade/block class (any or all) without DW/CD/LA mechanics is just brutal most the time. You're probably best off just leaving the pet on them and try to kite for more bow shots. I saw 10 evades in a row against an infiltrator the other day, 10 in a row...15 total in the fight. but hey, that's what happens when the game registers your weapon spec/stats as essentially -0- for determining defense rates. =/ |

I raped a RR5 viper 3 inf who started at 100% health with my BM when I was on 13% health once...
Such things happen, and most of these 'extraordinary' fights are caused by a good portion of luck for the winning side and a buffed imbalance, meaning one side has lotta buffs/pots whereas the other doesnt. Then of course there's skill, level and strength aswell. |
|
Thats why 1vs1 is so boring.
Victory depends mostly on evade/block luck, gear and buffs. Maybe 10% skill ![]() Fabienne - Blademaster

Sure, thats all correct. I just found it suprising how a fight can turn out completly different than one expected it. I mean at 00:29 I had 81% health and Dragoonn had 11%. One more hit and I would have won without any buffs or charges used. But instead he evaded 4 times in a row and did so much damage to me in no time that I even missed to use IP or a lifedrain charge before I was dead. Normally of course I run around fullbuffed with charges and potions. Then it seldomly looks like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0khuoh1WPs or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPm5EFgy3vM or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFXylREb3YQ or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6-H-XPPSlY Sometimes it looks like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnxWsaSCrdQ When enemies are also fullbuffed and highRR, its more often like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og2uBC6UKwY But its a big motivation trying to get them killed somehow anyways.
Like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg4dHMKawqk You see there is not a big advantage from it or? But yes, it did work against an Armsman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcDtFSfnvmQ But how often do we meet solo Armsmen nowadays? :-D Last edited by Rector on Jun 16, 2010 21:59, edited 1 time in total.

How often do we meet a solo arms that make PVE with your pet? rofl!! ![]() |

10% is probably underestimated though. ![]() However, some might rely more on gear than skill and the other way around of course... |

Yes, I need more of them!

CD mechanics, parry, 9+ second stuns don't hurt
Well if you can't get positioning to get off more bow shots without letting them close on you completely then its not going to help. If you aren't gaining ground by kiting with the puppy try restealthing? |
|
This would be the correct tactic. It would require active pet management as well (Go To Target) to keep the pet on the Friar without it actually attacking him since that will prevent you from stealthing. Immediately have the pet attack after you stealth to prevent the Friar from healing, and move to a good firing position. Unfortunately this is not an option against other stealther classes.

Low level? I have 300+ dex, it's the reason why i evade a lot (300 dex, evade 7 vs slow 2h spear, debuff/disease). VS Madinaa (i think is spear spec) i don't evade to much, just 4-5 swings, and he is low rank. Holavez |

I don't have slam. ![]() |

hunter pet should half evade, parry, and small shield block rate... but i think that in uthgard dont work ?_?
