Well duh, of course the absence of players in other zones makes going there pointless. But changes to that are on their way, yet you propose things to counter that while saying yourself they won't even work? ("Ppl don't care that much about RP bonusses, which is true.") Besides, staff has said they will never implement zone restricted Rp bonusses, so that's that. I just can't believe how you guys can't think through the upcoming changes, or can't seem to realise that they will deal with a LOT of the problems we have now WAY better than what you are proposing, making your proposals useless once those changes are in place. Like I said they do nothing but incite players to shift the zone for no reason than a bonus. This is completely unnecessary and will probably just split the RvR population in 2 for no reason. |

Lets just wait for doomsday and see what happens then.

What is actually happening besides OF RAs and BGs? I read something about making RvR faster and XP bonuses being slightly increased but no details that I can recall.
|
|
That's because there ARE no details. Not that that stops some people from constantly referencing these changes, but hey. ^^
To be fair, you left out RvR dungeons that were also announced, but that's about it. |
|
I'd say give the change a month or 2 after "doomsday". There is no quick fix for RvR, the one staff announced isn't one either. It's a long-term solution and it needs time to get established. |

Agreed.
I so love it when you let me freely call it doomsday... ![]() |

You can call it whatever you want. ![]() |

Thanks a lot.

How about make RP's work like Camp bonus... or just the least populated zone per hour gets bonuses..

Having it work like a camp bonus, does sound intresting, but it opens the door for people to choose to move to ether two zones, which will thin out the number of enemys that are in that zone. I choose one zone for the bonus to be in, to help not thin out the number of players who go there. Basicly OF is 3 BGs, as emain, odin, and hadrian are the only zones used for lvl 50 rvr, with emain being 95% of it. Now we want to move the players around, but not to thin them out between all 3, just 1 other. So that there is players in like emain, then the bonus moves to odin and some move there. If the bonus was two zones, it would be few in emain, few in odin and a few in hadrian, which after awhile it would be too thin and they will get lazy and go back to emain / one zone, as they want predictablity to earn there RP.
Reason i didnt like OF is because it acts as 3 BGs that would just slit up the RvR, or would just be in one zone while the others are not used. I like having 3 unique zones to play in, but 1 i dont want everyone sliting up into all 3, and 2 i dont want everyone sticking to just one zone all the time. What we need is something to encourge people to leave one popular zone to explore another that other would possibly explore also. What i would predict, based on a guess though is that if the zone currently is emain with the bonus. Then albs got DF and the bonus moves to Hadrian, i would think its more likely that solos and small grps would be the first to make the move, as big grps may not want to wait for the port when they die. And they also can rez there dead and last a little longer. Also solos/small grps would use this oppertonity to find solos/small grps right then the bonus moves. Then if one realm owns DF long enough, soon it will be like emain, where everyone is there, few hours pass, then someone else gets DF and the RvR is refreshed again. But that is if the XPers changes, doesnt affect RvR, as i highly doubt it will. |

Removing two zones would serve both to balance each realms opprotunities, therefor removing the need for port timer for example, and to put all rvr in the same pot so to say.
But then again maybe the "classic" freaks dont want to ruin some emotion the current layout is providing I guess...

well a few would like to keep it on emain. Mostly emain benifits....
*Alb full grps as they port to the closest hotspot. *Mid Full grps as they port to the second hotspot and not too far from the first with a little speed. *Mid solo/stealth as they start at the least camped gate and port to action, while alb has to get past amg which is very active and dangerous, and hib has to go through 2 some what empty zones till they get to the main rvr zone. *Both alb and mid as they always get to port to action, while hib has to run/ride to emain, so if the majority of the rvr had changed, they would be burdiend sometimes. Im sure there is more reasons, but in any case there is no balance with keeping emain as the main rvr zone all the time. Maybe it worked on live back then, but that was because there was way more players, and you could actualy have a chance finding someone in the other zones, enough to satisfiy yourself. |

The biggest advantage Emain offers is the fact that the road between AMG and MMG is the shortest way inbetween them. Unline in Odin's and Hadrians where the actual road makes a detour, splitting up the obvious route into the road and the fastest way. This gives Emain the most certainty to encounter enemies while roaming. What realm benefits most from Emain is hardly relevant to be honest... |

Emain has always been the defacto RvR zone. It's the maps. Emain is laid out like a golfcourse, very easy to move arounf there. OG and HW are much more complicated maps. So, going back to 2001, Emain gets the action in OF maps.

Ya i do agree emain is layed out for the simple minded, mostly for grps.
