I consider Minstrels a melee class. They have the role of demezzer and secondary CC, but beyond that, they have the time to do a fair bit of meleeing. Bards, on the other hand, are main CC and secondary healers.

There are claims that the Savage is complex. What makes it more complex than any other melee class, particularly hybrids? The savagery line seems fairly simple to use, leaving only one style line to play with.

Savage, in fact, is no complex at all.
You might have 2 quickbars full of Abilities / Styles if you put them all, side, back, anytime, and reflexives (and if you do that almost any tank will have 2 full quickbars).
But the point is: What do a savage do? Or better what can I do with a Savage? Deal Damage, thats it. So once you learned all the styles, how they work and how to land them correctly, you will basically be a Damage Dealer Machine, you wont need to use your brain so much, on choosing what to do according to the situation.

Many might disagree i guess (especially savage users :D), and its ok, this is just my opinion but savage is a very simple char, you dont have any toy and you dont need skill to play it. ;)

Yes really hard, and hardest if you have one pet charmed who nukes for 240 damage, and do all job.
I think ns, infi or sb are harder.
