i df i usually dont kill greys.. only if they add/leech
otherwise when i roam uppland for example, i would kill every grey i see only to pull out mids to hunt and kill me.. simple strategy ![]() |

i think it depends on your class
in DF, as a stealther you want to find enemies that will give you rps. attacking a grey pops you from stealth, and creates a risk of getting found via /broad, and getting hit by a lvl 50 or group near you. if I was a stealth I would leave them alone. and would never be in areas where "greys" would be, stick to cambs, drinkers, shredders etc. non-stealth, well its part of the game, people like to clear DF after a change, and everyone knows if DF changes. so not logging out or leaving as a grey is at your own risk |

every enemy of the realm needs to be crushed.

I think that greykill has it pros and it cons. As a solo player who searches Realm Enemies in DF its necessary to kill greys.
1) Stealther or not. Whenever you are near greys you are in risk of being CCed, attacked or whatsoever. In each case you will have problems engaging high enemy players, when you cant do anything or your sneak attack fails. When DF is closed for you you are just pißed in the end. 2) Same goes when you win a fight. While chasing an enemy (and lets say you are fast enough to get him) just a fart of a grey is enough to brake your speed or you catch a CC and your enemy escapes. 3) There is a xp bonus in DF for the risk of being killed by realm enemies. Each player should be aware that by entering DF its like entering the frontiers...you are nowhere safe but near the realm guards at entrance. I for myself dont like greykilling but I often got attacked by greys so I killed them first so they couldnt interfere and cause me to get kicked out of DF. In my opinion greykilling wouldnt be such a problem if DF were open all the time. With the current amount of players i really doubt that too many players would leave the Frontiers...and there would be a good chance for solo players to have some fun too. |

Exactly
I personally neither dislike nor like greykilling. I've got an Infi and I rarely kill greys. I even help them if a mob is going to kill them. I see less 3 realms than 1 realm. If a grey enemy is in Danger I help him, just because I try to make sure that they can have FUN! But on the other side, I killed many greys because of one Fact: If I don't kill them, they will kill me. I only kill greys who add/added. I have a list created where every grey adder, who was adding me once, is noted! If I see one of them, I kill them, don't care if grey or not, cause I know they would add me. All in all I'm not into greykilling, and it's pretty much senseless. But if it's necessary.... Just my 0,5 cents |

yeah sure..i can remember times when you did nothing else than greykilling ok, back there greys gave RP (nearly nothing but eh even 1 RP gained is 1 RP more, right?), and also counted for statistic.. and ~50% of your overall kills are greys. |

I kill all greys I see every time.
Whenever I click on them, it says "He/She is a member of an enemy realm!" So I kill all greys everytime, especially if they are fighting mobs and I can give them an xp death. becuase this is Dark Age of Camelot, a realm versus realm game, and killing greys is funny and easy and you prevent an enemy realm member from continuing to enjoy the 20% xp bonus. |

This is the start to make me vote for close ![]() |

I like grey ganking because it makes finding assassins in DF easier. Sometimes I'll just camp at the x-roads and wait for kill spam. There's nothing more satisfying than booting another talentless Inf/NS out of DF because he ganked some poor level 24 Thane grinding plateds for... nothing.
Enjoy your /release.

Greykilling/Zerging/Adding are the issues what DAoC makes the best Player versus Player Game ever been designed.
Besides you have this kind of village-like community here (like it was on lives too) what brings you the posibility to keep your enemys name in mind, even because you get killed by the same players at the same most annoying moments most of the time. That fact again allows you to create a certain concept of the enemy. If you compare it with MMOs like WoW, you'll never get such a what i would call it "enemy community" there. In my case a lot of purified hatred comes to my mind when I see certain enemies, and I am playing for only six weeks here so far. And to be honest, I think most of RvR-playing people get most of their satisfaction by spoiling the fun of their enemies, and this is what killing players causes. RPs may be a nice side-effect, but pure schadenfreude (registered english foreign word!) is worth more than any stupid points ![]() |
